When a new pup arrived unexpectedly, he had a good deal of fear of other dogs, and some behavioral issues - I asked Hoochie Poochie to take him on and they included him in a carefully selected playgroup, in which he grew in confidence and joy. We moved about a month ago. If there were any way to continue working with them, I would, but they focus on their service area so as to continue to provide top-notch service. I had to travel not long after moving, and asked if they'd take care of our new boy overnight while I was away, just so he didn't have too many changes at once. Two of his walkers looked after him - and you would have been as moved as I was to see his reaction to seeing them again after a few weeks away. They are professional, responsible, and very attentive to the dogs' safety and well-being. They pay attention while walking them, and communicate well. I would be so happy if they'd expand to my new neighborhood!

HOWEVER - I feel compelled to rave about this company and especially our dog walker, Fran. Our dog Vito has now been walking with Fran three days a week for the past three months - and basically his life is scheduled around his "Fran days". After a LONG three day weekend without his crew, he spends Tuesday mornings oscillating between looking out the window and running to the door, as he waits for Fran to pick him up. He goes to her immediately, and greets all of the dogs (the team changes day to day, but he has a regular crew) with so much enthusiasm, it's remarkable. After three hours walking/playing at the dog park, he's usually happily worn out and spends the rest of the afternoon chilling. Fran has taken him out in all weather - rain, snow, or shine - and every day we get pictures and emails about their outings. The Hoochie Poochie team is incredibly reliable, great communicators and super on top of any issues. Really top notch! TY!

I've never seen my dog so excited to see anyone- every time we're on her block (even in passing when we're not going to day care), he always drags me to her lobby. She does a really great job updating me throughout the day with pictures and comments on how my dog's doing- you can tell in these photos how ecstatic he is (the Maltipoo). During the initial consultation, Wendy did a very thorough job taking notes on any conditions or concerns regarding my dog along with emergency contacts/vet info/dietary restrictions/etc. It's evident that her number one priority is the safety and well being of every dog she looks after. It would be very difficult to go anywhere else after my positive experience with Wendy!

She knows animals so well, and provides such detailed, responsible and thoughtful care, I'm never concerned - and he loves her. To me, she's responsive, flexible and so very kind. We started sending our very energetic dog on hikes with Chad once-twice a week when I was 8 months pregnant. Chad came for an initial meet and greet to determine whether our dog would come when called and would get along with the pack. Fast forward 3 months, we have a one month old baby and plan on never not using Bark and Burn unless we really can't afford it. (And on the affordability tip, Bark and Burn is more affordable than other dog hiking options, and is in our opinion a much better deal than doggie daycare. Our dog is gone anywhere from 6-8 hours and comes back thoroughly exhausted.) Not only does Chad provide the greatest time ever for the dogs, Bark and Burn is an incredibly organized and professional service for us humans. They are incredibly responsive and responsible-- this is an extremely well-run business. The online portal for reserving a place for play trips and paying invoices is streamlined and intuitive. Chad is endlessly responsive on text. Every dog gets a GPS tracker collar on the trips and Chad even puts floaties on the dogs when they go swimming. Somehow our dog even comes back dry and smelling not disgusting from the trips despite going swimming. He definitely comes back cleaner from these trips than when we take him to the dog park (Tompkins and WSP). Last but not least, Chad sends a wealth of the most heartwarming, epic pictures and videos of the dogs throughout the trip. We show our friends and they are jealous of the life our dog gets to live. We would be jealous too if we weren't so damn happy seeing him so damn happy.

Chance is not necessarily the most active dog, but we always felt kind of guilty with him being a city dog, not getting as much activity and playtime as he could if we lived somewhere else. Well that's no longer a concern now that Chance goes on his action packed day trips with Chad! Hiking trails, beach days, lake days (he taught my previously afraid of water pooch to SWIM!) park days, Chance looooooves them all. People constantly say to us wow, your dog really has the best life, and they're 100% right! I was a little worried about how he might do not just keeping up with other dogs on these eventful days, but even the socializing with big groups of dogs aspect was worrisome knowing some of his past experience interacting with dogs/groups of dogs at parks in the past. But thanks to the interactions and oversight he gets from on these daily adventures he has improved by leaps and bounds in these kind of settings, and with dogs in general. Almost as good as knowing how much his quality of life has improved, is getting to see pictures and videos of all the fun he is having. Chad's background as a photographer really comes in handy, the photos he sends us and posts on the B&B Instagram (follow them now! @barkandburn) are nothing short of incredible. I also always feel good about his safety because of the level of attention and technology the team utilize while on the excursions. The fact that Chance had to go through an evaluation before going on any trips, and then got eased into things on leash at first, really spoke volumes to the care and consideration that goes into the process, and made us feel comfortable from the start. At the end of the day it all really comes down to just how much Chad puts into this business and how much he cares for and LOVES these dogs! We're truly so lucky to have found B&B, it's the best thing that's ever happened to our little guy, I can't recommend them enough.

We use them to walk our dog during the day and also to take him on hikes in upstate New York once a week, as well as boarding him when we go on vacation. The owner has a team of walkers and hikers who truly love the dogs -- our dog gets super-excited whenever his walkers arrive and they are very nice to him. They are also timely and responsive, and keep us informed about all the important details of our dogs walk (poops/pees, etc). The walks are in small groups and we can tell from our dog's airtag that the walkers take him for long walks and extended play in the dog parks. The Weekly hikes are even better! NYC Doggies picks our three year old Portuguese Water dog up in the morning, drive him upstate, and turn him loose for a several hour long hike with a professional walker, along with 3-4 other dogs. He runs, swims in lakes, and generally gets to behave like a "normal" dog in the wild. He comes back exhausted and falls asleep for three hours straight. It is his favorite day of the week, and it has made him calmer and better behaved, and more fit. NYC Doggies has made my dog's life much happier and I could not recommend them more highly.

In the 7 years since I've had my dog, this is one of the longest times we've spent apart. And it's the most peace of mind I've felt since I've had him. DotCom has a very hard time with visitors in the home, but sending him away or to boarding was not an option - he's a tricky dog who doesn't always like other dogs or people, and I was concerned about the respiratory illness going around. Lauren hand-selected one of her sitters for me, Bridget, and repeatedly reassured me until my flight took off that she and Bridget could handle whatever DotCom threw at them. DotCom did not disappoint; on top of his usual loud and persistent barking, he got an upset stomach while I was gone. And of course, Bridget, with the support of Lauren, exceeded my every expectation. Bridget navigated his chaos like a ninja, as if he was an easy, well-adjusted dog. Like it was nothing. When I got home, DotCom was happy to see me, but after quickly greeting me, he got back on the couch to cuddle with Bridget! This is nothing short of miraculous from a dog who has about 5 people he truly, truly trusts. Bridget and Lauren are gifts to people and their pets, especially those of us with difficult dogs who aren't easy to love. Not only did Bridget take care of my dog like he was her own difficult son, she took out my trash, ran my dishwasher, and picked up my packages. I can't even begin to thank her and Lauren enough. I wish I could keep this to myself and never share them, but dogs and their people deserve to know about Sit, Stay, Stella.

Trusting someone to do what they say they will when you are not around is also hard. Jim is a fantastic dog walker and you can tell is truly and animal lover. I trust 100% that he will take care of my dog and give her the love and attention that she needs when she is with him. Jim is professional and friendly, he takes her out for the time we agree to (past dog walking services have taken my dog out for only 8-10 minutes in spite of me paying for a 20-30 minute walk), he keeps me apprised of her activities by leaving notes, and he is always more than happy to accommodate our schedule if he can. We reached out, Jim came by our place to meet us and the dog, and I pretty much knew after that conversation that he was our guy. He is amazing with our dog, and she absolutely loves him... Which is saying something as she is not super social and usually a bit shy. He's reliable, helps us out with taking her to the groomer, the vet, or stoping by to feed her if we can't make it home on schedule, and over the last 1.5years I don't have a single complaint. Best part, he also boards her if we are out of town, which is sooooo much better than taking her to some crap hole kennel. Makes it that much easier to relax on vacation knowing she's in good hands. He even txt's us the occasional picture of her getting into trouble just so we know she's doing well. Bottom line, if you need a dog walker, Murph's Paw is the be all and end all, so save yourself the trouble and go with Jim. He's very professional and we wouldn't trust anyone else.
