I'm new to this but I figured it out so my husband and I lived out here for almost 2 years now never tired this place and it was $31 my husband wanted to take me out so I did not have to cook after having a long day so we went here the food was cold, nasty, and uncooked dry the serves was bad no smile, and no hello my husband saw a pile of dog food in the next dining room over, kid running around singing dancing. My husband had 2 egg rolls and got sick off of them we would never ever go here again I never finished my plate my husband said "don't eat it we will go some where else" so we did subway. read more

My wife and I drive 60 miles round trip at least once a week to got Pontiac Buffet. The food is always great and fresh and the staff is friendly and and welcoming. It's operated like a typical Chinese restaurant, you come in to eat and they won't get in the way. The people who run the restaurant are authentic Chinese. If you go on a regular basis, you'll see them paying close attention to the food and the tables. They can be crowded at meal times, good restaurants usually are, but we always are over-fed and happy when we leave. If you want to break up your week and go to a place that's not the same old fast food, Pontiac Buffet is where that can happen. Food is always hot and fresh. Service is as expected. They do need to keep up on the sweeping after someone leaves that has made a mess. Bathrooms are always clean. read more

This place continues to go down hill, I have to agree with the numerous other low reviews. It used to be pretty good but is getting to the point where I don't really want to go back. Here is our last experience 1. The booths and benches are in bad shape 2. The staff doesn't seem to interested in cleaning tables off immediately after they are vacated. 3. Its difficult if not impossible to get your drink refilled. 4. During the entire time we were there, I didn't see anyone refill or clean up the buffet area, many items were half filled, empty or unappealing. 5. The food was warm at best. 6. The place seems to be run by a family that has a small child the cries most of the time. They speak in loud Chinese and between the crying and talking it is very annoying to guests. 7. The place needs re-decorating, painting and cleaning badly. The people that run this place need to understand what it takes to run a restaurant and give good customer service. read more

Everytime I've been here there's a child running around crying and screaming, it's visibly filled with toys and other belongings to the child and rest of the family, etc. Tonight I ordered pick up and when I called to see how much longer I would be waiting for my food (I sat in the parking lot waiting for 30 minutes when she said it would be about 15, I watched them set my food on a bench within 10 minutes of calling to order) and was very rudely spoken to. After she brought out my order I said "Thankyou" and she continued to argue and wouldn't walk away from my car until I rolled my window up and said goodbye. read more

Pretty standard chinese buffet, but really reasonable prices for lunch $6.95. They've got the typical nooodles, fried appetizers, chicken on a stick and fruit/jello stuff. They also had a lot of seafood items for a buffet. Their black pepper chicken was really good - almost like a walnut sauce. They also had some unusual items like fried green tomatoes and stuffed crab shells that you normally would not expect on a Monday for lunch! I was headed back home from business in Peoria and was glad to have this option before I starved or had to succumb to McDonald's! Nice to know that this is out there - just off the Pontiac exit, head to the light with the Walgreens and make a left, then it is in the strip mall on the left by the Pizza place. read more

This place never fails to provide cold food for an expensive price. Always feel like I need to make sure I'm close to a restroom shortly after eating here. For some reason my kids like this place, possibly because they have no clue food is supposed to be warm at the very least. read more

It's kinda in a nook right by monicals pizza. But the owners are amazing very friendly and customer service oriented. Very clean. A lot to choose from and also cheap for a buffet. I highly suggest/recommend them amazing people best thing for us as a family she remembers what we drink and our faces always greets us with a smile. read more

OMG!. If you are the type that thinks first impressions are important then close your eyes when walking in. The decor is consistent throughout as well. You'll notice that the yellow paint smeared on the front windows is also smeared on the bathroom wall and tile on the floor. If this is the attention they've paid to what we can see, I'd hate to see what the kitchen looks like. The food is about what you would expect but after a plate full you'll be feeling anything but good about what you just put in your body. On another note, I was pleased to see them sit two total strangers at our table not to much after we sat down. I guess they are promoting loving thy neighbor. read more

While it does have a smaller selection of food, Pontiac Buffet is a very good place to eat. The food is almost always fresh and they are always filling up what they run out of. The staff keeps up on drink refills, too. It's also cleaner than most buffets. Overall, it's a good restaurant. read more

This place truly has it all for a Chinese Buffet!! You can have cold dumplings, almost edible crab cakes, and even 3 day old chicken. They even offer convinent bottled water from Aldi. But, if you're not in the mood for slightly burnt, cold, old or otherwise subpar food, then this place has another Ace up its sleeve in the form of Cheetos!!! That's right, under the intense heat of a food lamp, you too can enjoy slightly burnt, off brand Cheetos. Most likely from the same Aldi they purchase the bottled water. I ate something labeled as crab which turned out to have minced shrimp in it. I almost died before I got to the hospital and the restaurant could not have cared less. I was more than willing to pay for my meal, but they wanted to argue about the labelling on their buffet dishes as I was starting to turn blue. I will NEVER eat here again. One would like to think that with the space they have that it would look nice inside. Chairs and booths have cuts and in need of repair. Food taste almost like it is heat and serve, but some items taste cooked. For dessert they show pictures of the pies but only little bites available. Not impressed at all. read more

Not friendly staff! Very rude. Terrible service! They did not greet me, they wanted to seat me at a booth that was ripped and taped together. When I asked to sit at a better booth the server seemed irritated. They brought water and didn't come back to ask for our order. I finally had to ask. The food was not very good. The food is great. The sweet and sour sauce tends to be crap, cause they never stir it. The price is right, but all the workers can barely speak a lick of English, and tend to watch you as if you are gonna eat their whole food supply. Kinda unnerving. read more

I have been to this restaurant multiple times and I feel as the years go by so does this restaurants quality. Around 5:30 today, I went and the food was cold and there wasnt much out. I was also given a drink with very little ice, probably to keep them from refilling it. There were 3 ladys working, one man, and children in the side room. During our meal, they talked "their native language" back and forth, literally over our booth!!! I will never go back. This was literally the last of all times. read more

I think they put benefiber in their food cuz i was full after a half plate of food which is unusual cuz i am a heavy set woman and i got the shits big time afterwards. We got there at 3:11 and had to pay dinner price cuz lunch is til three but they didnt put the dinner items out til 3:55 so they shouldnt have charged us dinner cuz we were full before the dinner items came out but i took a little taste of the coconut shrimp dinner item and dinner pork item and they were both very good and was disappointed cuz i was already full otherwise i would have had just those two items if they would have been there first. Plus the lady wouldnt refill our drinks although they were an extra charge and she had a fit when i tried to refill it myself. Also, another Chinese lady worker hacked a lugi in the handsink in the bathroom when i was taking a shit and she shouldnt do that with customers in the bathroom and should have hacked the lugi in the toliet not the handsink. So i thought the two Chinese ladies were rude. read more
