We have been to this restaurant before and it is located inside the NiagaraCasino. The food was very lovely and tasted great. Unfortunately, the server forgot our soup that we had ordered and so by the time the meals came we just canceled that order. The service was always pretty good but today it was a little slow and felt less attentive than previous. Things this trip just felt a little off. We were celebrating a birthday and they do have an intimate romantic atmosphere so that was nice. It was a pleasant experience overall for the two of us. We will return here again. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised how great this place is! Outstanding! The Manhattan and old fashion were on point! I highly recommend the pull apart bread. Don't just use the amazing flavored butter! Be sure to use the olive oil & balsamic vinegar. So delish! The Caesar salad was so fresh and all the flavors were perfect! Our dinners were above and beyond delish! We were trying to decide on dinner and decided this was worth a try. It's inside the Casino so parking is through their garage but we walked over. At about 6:30, we were offered an 8:30 slot so make a reservation if you want a definite time and day. The back room is definitely quieter than the front room which gets noise from the Casino. We were quite happy to be seated in the back. The table seats are quite comfortable. Service was wonderful. Attentive but not intrusive. A full meal for two; including apps and drinks is pricey. Plan on spending around $100 Canadian per person. But it was definitely worth it. I will say the Veal Parmesan is big enough to share. Or you'll have enough left for lunch the following day. Don't have RSVP's for 9:15PM if the Kitchen Closes at 10PM. Been to PonteVecchio 5 times before. Given the 'Bums Rush' by Server 'Irene' the moment we were seated. Water? Not what kind. Drinks? Barely finished my sentence and she was off like a shot. We had to ask her if there were Specials She said Yes there was and named 2 but without Prices We had a very starchy appetizer, so of course we wanted a nice pause between our next course which was Pasta. But she already put the order in because the "Kitchen closes at 10PM." She asked "is that okay?" Well of course it's not okay. She 'Table Checked' before we had even tried our food and with 1 Diner not present at the table. 3 forkfuls into our Entree she asked if we're going to have dessert. Why not ask us how long we're going to stay. It was an unpleasant experience for a Foodie who tried to communicate that we've been there before. We visited Ponte Vecchio in the recommendation of someone "in the know". They did warn that it was pricey, but amongst the best restaurants in the area. The sommelier was amazing, turning us on to an excellent and perfectly-paired bottle of local Merlot. Our Old Fashioneds were a little sweeter than we like, but contained a nice pour of bourbon. Our server was fun and knowledgeable, and kept service moving at just the right pace. For appetizers, I had the polpo (octopus) which was presented beautifully with heirloom potatoes and a mustard vinaigrette. It was quite good, but I've had better octopus - granted it was in Cancún and at Aureole in LV. Yes, if octopus is on the menu, I'm ordering it! My wife's arancini was delightfully prepared in the traditional manner. Our shared Caesar salad was superb and was served with a lemon wedge, as should always be the case. For entrees, my wife ordered the Agnello (lamb chops), served with an herb polenta, fresh peas and a rich demi which was cooked perfectly to a rare-medium rare and was a plentiful portion. I had already decided on the "star" dish of Vitello (veal) Parmesan, which was a gigantic veal chop, pounded flat, panko-crusted, and served beneath tomato basil sauce and melted buffalo mozzarella with a healthy side portion of spaghetti with the same tomato basil sauce. It was phenomenal, and easy to see why it was the star of the show! For dessert, we shared a lovely tiramisu, presented uniquely in a cylindrical fashion with macerated berries and what I believed to be a strawberry coulis. While we weren't disappointed in the experience, per se, we did feel that the food was a just slight notch below the five-star level one would expect for the price (our tab was nearly $475 Canadian for two with gratuity, a round of cocktails, two appetizers, a shared salad, two entrees, shared dessert and a moderately-priced bottle of wine. Absolutely loved the seating, service, and menu at this restaurant. It has lots of nice options for appetizers, pasta, seafood and meat. Seating in the back room along the wall was perfect on this busy night as there were curtains separating the tables. This is definitely Italian "kicked up a notch" in terms of ambiance, service and selection. On this night the Osso Bucco was served with a brown sauce over risotto. The menu indicated that when the Osso Bucco is available it is served Milanese which in my experience is a red sauce. Perhaps I should have listened better when our server went over the specials. Either way, I was satisfied with my choice. My wife ordered the Gnocchi Con Tartuffo (porcini ricotta gnocchi, mushrooms, arugula, truffle oil and shaved truffles). It was earthy, tasty, and she was very happy with her choice. The serving size was more than she could handle, but she ate past the point of being full, so that's a ringing endorsement. We drank Rye Manhattans and a 9 oz serving of the house Valpolicella as we did our best to finish off the Fifth Town Cheese Plate. The cheese plate was excellent and we would definitely order it again. It was a very nice evening which we ended with a Grand Marnier creme brûlée and we're glad we chose to eat here. Had dinner here with a group of friends. We arrived around 9:30pm and the restaurant was decently busy. I ordered the Frito Misto appetizer and Sphagetti with meatballs for my main. The appetizer was tasty and had a mix of deep fried calamari, shrimp, and artichoke. However, the pasta tasted average. It tasted like any other sphagetti and meatball dish. I would recommend trying the other dishes. The atmosphere was very classy and the service is great. "You're *still* eating?" Not directly delivered but made within earshot, a comment like this set itself a pretty good tone for our dining experience at this establishment. We may have entered this establishment off the cuff, but might it be fair to say -- expectations are elevated when your price tags incur the "$$$" label. Unfortunately the service and food you receive for the price we have discovered to be disproportionate. The food was, as they say, "mid". For appetizers we ordered a common bread item on a pan fit for several. This was perfectly fine, although it came with a rather minuscule amount of butter. Our entrees included dishes inclusive of steak, chicken, spaghetti, and various side items; the steak and pasta was just fine but the chicken and side veggies were notably bland, for which the table salt made itself a great companion. I tablesalt But frankly the most suspect factor was the service. Not including the delivery of our items and the conclusion of our meal, we were only checked upon once -- once! -- after we had progressed well into the consumption of our meal. Lots of waiting for disregarded empty glasses and an unfortunate lack of attention. Again, probably fine had it been a more affordable establishment. But three $! Three!!! Even forgiving that the exchanges with service were rather blatant when it did happen; adequately nice when you're looking at them in the eye, although less so when they're literally staring at you while you pay, presumably hoping for you to finally conclude your meal and leave. All in all, certainly not a triple $ experience, but maybe if you're luckier, or if you pretended the second half of their operating hours did not exist, your experience may be more enjoyable and worth the expense. read more

I really enjoyed the ambiance here. For starters I had the caprese salad which was delicious. We were with a group and a set menu. Pursuant to the starters I enjoyed a stunning risotto dish with peas, gran padano, butter, pea shoots and a slice of truffle. The main was a panko covered chicken parmigiano with buffalo mozzarella and a nice bed of spaghetti in a tomatoe sauce. It was decent. Average to below average meal. Located on the casino floor, it was a little hectic and hard to find. Extremely small and dirty bar was not a great first impression. The restaurant itself was loud and crowded, but I guess that should be expected on a Saturday night. We Ordered the chicken parm and pesto primavera pasta. Both dishes were fine which brought it from a 2 to a 3 star rating. However, the table clothes were very dirty, and that almost made both my wife and I lose our appetites. There are a lot of dinner options if visiting the falls, so I wouldn't recommend this place. You should be able to find something better and certainly less expensive. read more

Interior was classy and quiet, lovely for an intimate dinner with conversation. Chairs were padded and very comfortable. Prices were on the slightly higher-end. Pasta dishes have 2 different sizes/prices. The appetizer size was more than sufficient and ~$20, whereas they would be maybe ~$14-15 somewhere downtown. Entrée sized pastas were ~$38. I really enjoyed my Spaghetti with a meatball, pasta was perfectly al dente. Portion was enough to give others a taste OR even split the dish if someone wanted to. I had a taste of the Risotto and it was a bit too white wine-y for my liking. Fritti Misto was done well and they seemed to use "clean oil" as fried pieces were a beautiful golden yellow colour. Expect to pay at least $20pp, pre-tax/tip, without any wine or dessert. Must be 19+ to enter. Only open for dinner service. read more

This is one of the fancier restaurants in the Fallsview Casino complex, but it wasn't spectacular, at least for the price. We did come here compliments of my mom's Player's Advantage card, cashback and VIP credits, but I would never want to come here on my own dime. The atmosphere is romantic and dark, with big tables and booths. After ordering, we got a big loaf of garlic bread (or at least it should have been). The insides were not buttered, but I half wished they could have been. We ordered two glasses of wine $8.50 each. My pasta Garganelli (entree size $28) was extremely salty. I get that some of the ingredients call for this (sausage), but I wonder if the chef tastes their food. My mom's Veal Saltimbocca, was also very salty ($42) For dessert, we got the Tiramisu. I DO very much recommend coming in here for a Tiramisu dessert with your date. Fresh cream and lots of berries, it was quite yummy. Amongst the tackyness and touristy Niagara Falls lies this hidden gem we call Ponte Vecchio. I've been putting off this review because honestly I wanted the most perfect words for this immaculate Resturant. I've been her several times with small groups, big groups or date night. The Italian food here is only the best quality , the home made pasta is BEYOND!! It makes such a difference. The wait staff are accommodating and they make sure you're treated very well. For an expensive place the portions are quite generous. The home made bread they bring to your table is divine, you can make a meal out of it on its own. The charcuterie board is a staple item, I always order it to start off with. I wish I could put into words how incredible and tasty this joint is. Don't let the price scare you away, you will leave satisfied. If we're being honest, I drive to Niagara Falls just to eat here. read more

Sometimes all the stars align. It happened at dinner on a recent Thursday evening at Ponte Vecchio. Starting with our server, Chris, who was polite and engaging to the point that I wished he could have sat down and joined us for dinner. He provided outstanding service and recommendations. We started with a half bottle of house Chardonnay and the caprese salad. The mozzarella was so fresh and tender, like nothing I've had before. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were delicious additions alongside the fresh heirloom tomatoes. For our main course we had the trout and the European bass, both excellent. No room for dessert. We had one bottle of sparkling water but the tap water was also very good. Packed the leftovers in our cooler and ate it at the next hotel the following night, with a bottle of Ontario wine we purchased at the LCBO. Wished we could have texted Chris to tell him how delicious it all was again! The total was C$148 pre-tip, an outstanding deal especially given the current exchange rate. Can't say enough about the hostess (whose name I missed!) who didn't blink about our overly casual attire, our server, Chris, who was friendly and attentive, and our wine steward, Karen, who kept our glasses full. We are grateful for the Yelp reviews that brought us to this fine restaurant. We went to Ponte Vecchio last weekend and really enjoyed the restaurant. PROS: - Huge wine list. - High quality food (the veal parm. was amazing --- and huge, enough for 2 meals). My husband also loved his chicken dish. - The fresh bread, which comes out warm. (This was my favorite part of the meal.) - Nice, cool atmosphere. - Friendly and attentive service. CONS: - We didn't have a reservation (my husband couldn't find an option online and when we called we just got the routing system for the hotel/casino) so we sat in the bar area --- no big deal conceptually, but the high seats were uncomfortable at 5'2". - Limited selection on the menu of actual pasta dishes vs. meat and fish dishes. - The price seemed high for what you get. We have eaten at Morton's in Buffalo which should be ashamed of their prices, her a meal there would have been $600. Comparing this against other casino restaurants on both sides, best out there now. We loved this restaurant! From the moment we arrived through our departure, the service was unsurpassed. And the food, the food was spectacular! We started with the antipasto platter and shrimp - very nice. We then moved on to the lamb and halibut (skipping salads to ensure room for dessert!) - this is definitely the place to order lamb if you are looking for really great lamb! We then finished with a dark chocolate cake and a fig tart. The cake was enough to satisfy the wickedest sweet tooth, and beyond the fresh figs themselves, there was nothing innocent about the fig tart! The shell was lined with chocolate and filled with a mascarpone that will turn anyone into a believer! There is nothing we didn't love about Ponte Vecchio...but if we had to come up with one thing, it would be that you have to wander through the casino to find a washroom. read more

Great meal to kick off my 30th birthday weekend. Had a bottle of local wine (Peninsula Ridge Cab Merlot) and the mushroom soup and caprese salad to start. Both were delicious. The mozzarella in the salad was so flavourful. I had the Wild Boar Ragu and my husband had the Osso Bucco, both of which were very tasty. No room for dessert because we filled up on the yummy pull apart bread and butter with vinegar and oil. It is a real deal since the 28 oz s $115 and this one was only $80. Only minus is that I like my steak trimmed a liitle more but it was delicious. My friend got the rack of lamb. It was 4 gorgous pieces of perfectly cooked meat. (Medium ) The taste was clean and no traces of the lamb or game taste that other people do not like. Both was seasoned perfectly. We were full but had to order tiraminu. Perfect ballance of espresso and lady figures. It was a strong finish but it was $14 Service was good and you will think she may rush you but she was hustling and working non stop with a smile. My boyfriend surprised me with dinner here on my 23rd birthday on Tuesday. We walked in about 40 minutes to close but they were still more than happy to seat us. And even though it was so close to closing and basically empty, the waiter was an absolute delight. And the food was amazing. We had the house salad, fettuccine with tomato sauce, and spinach ravioli, all of which were delicious. To make things even more sweet, we asked for a scoop of hazelnut ice cream for dessert. He brought out a very beautifully decorated plate with two scoops, a sort of hard crepe and chocolate drizzle and pieces. And whipped cream! Overall, it was a perfect experience.
