Was my Mom's first pil change experience, and she was impressed with their knowledge, expert customer service and professional courtesy! A few other things needed to be addressed based on the safety / courtesy inspection, and it was convenient for me to get a coolant flush and wiper change done here. Johnny was knowledgeable and explained the expected timecourse for when things needed to be replaced as well as answer my questions. Also gave updates throughout the oil change anf repairs. As Mom puts it, "we are happy campers."

I suspected some kind of oil spill when Libby came out from under the car with oil all over the front of her. Other than poor Libby getting covered with oil there was no harm no foul. Aside from a slight smell of fresh oil my garage floor is dry of oil today. So if there was a spill the cleanup was sufficient. They all did an excellent job. Take 5 is a bit pricier than dealers. But it's all in what you want. As for myself it's all about the convenience. 15-20 minutes in and out, not even getting out of car for service. It beats making appointments and having to leave the car for a day at the dealer and getting rides to and from the pick it up.

I was…read moreon a driving trip from DE to CA and drove over something that put a hole my tire on a Friday night, entering Rock Island. The next morning, people recommended J&W Automotive Repair and called him for me. He made an appointment right away. When the tire proved unfixable (too many small holes from being driven on), he contacted his business associates until he found a tire sales enterprise that sold my car's size tire. Then. he drove me there to pick up the new tire. All the time, he had lighthearted conversation that greatly bolstered my spirits. People in need of automotive repair have found the best when they go to J&W Automotive Repair. He is very competent as well as kind and well-connected to resources.

WORST auto repair shop in the entire QCA area. My best advice, in summary, is RUN…read more Reasons: Extremely dishonest mechanics. They told one amount for repairs then tried to change the amount right after. Finally got them to honor the original amount they told (which was still $200 more than any other shop would charge for the work, made plenty of calls and did my homework) and they claimed their card reader was down. Considering I work handling financial legal matters, I then verified twice that I could get a money order to bring in to pay their already steep price. The individual on the phone said yes-- TWICE. So obtained the $900 money order, filled it out to their "business" - since after all, isn't that what they are SUPPOSED to be - then upon arrival to pay them and pick up the vehicle the very shady and dishonest mechanic demanded cash only. Anyone with two brain cells is aware money orders are still cash in hand, but I guess when a company is most likely trying to get away with being underhanded on their books and taxes, they do not want to have any paper trail. Completely unprofessional. On the plus side, they have now been properly reported to the IRS, BBB, and local business authorities. While this is a civil matter (although it SHOULD be criminalized) at least I was able to provide enough actual evidence to know they will be investigated within the fiscal year and my greatest hope is that the mechanics at this horror sow of a shop decide to magically become actual DECENT human beings and stop screwing their patrons over. Utilizing their "services" the one time out of necessity and not choice was still one time too many. Lesson learned-- save yourself and RUN from this shyster slum shop. This review is also being shared via many sources as this experience was not mine alone apparently. Good luck!

My coworkers recommended "the discount tire place in RI,…read morenot "Discount Tire" but it was a small shop and I didn't want to get scammed so I went to Firestone. I spent about $1500 on tires, bought the warranty they said covers "everything." End of summer 2024 I was having issues with my tires, went back to Firestone, they said I voided my warranty by not rotating my tires with them every 3000 miles. What?! I'm almost 50, i have never had my tires rotated - ever - and not once had a problem. Could drive for 30k miles + on any other tires I've owned. Until those tires. They said I needed all 4 tires again. So I finally listened to my coworkers and went to A&J in RI and he hooked me up with 4 almost new tires for $400. The same price as ONE tire anywhere else. It's been about 3 months driving on them and they have been great! No slipping in the rain, controlled stops, no leaks, etc. Excellent service! I called one day to see what they had in stock and they were installed the next day while i waited. The only thing I would have done differently was to go to A & J the first tine.
