I popped in and did some wandering on a recent morning, and was super impressed not only with their awesome selection of flavored olive oils (with plenty of free samples available!) but their wide array of kitchen accessories, cookbooks, specialty groceries, and pretty much anything you could ever need to up your cooking game. If I wasn't traveling carry-on, I would definitely have picked up some new gadgets!

Then the rest of their flavors you can ask for and taste. I have to say my roommate and I spent about 45 min in there narrowing it down. There were two people working, a man and teenage girl, both were kind and knowledgeable. Gave me some recommendations. I could have been in there all day doing a tasting. I ended up getting the Galegea and the peach balsamic. They tasted good together. Figured they would be good to mix for a salad. They do ship. So if you find something you like and want to repurchase or try something new then you can order it. They even said if you wanted to email and get ideas for recipes that you can do that. I don't know about you but I always run out of ideas. I love a responsive business. It was clean friendly and warm inside the store. I would happily visit again to have the same experience. Another note they swap out from different regions through out the year so there are a couple of seasonal flavors. Right now it's the Strawberry Kiwi.

When the seasoning arrived - I had a question about the product. I called their contact number and right away a friendly voice answered. The customer service representative was so kind and helpful on the phone. She said that she would check in with the manager ASAP in regards to my inquiry and follow back up promptly. A couple of minutes later - the same personable customer representative called me back and revealed that her manager had called the manufacturers of the product and she was able to answer my question with confidence. I was blown away by the incredible customer support at Olive & Basket. The staff went out of their way to make sure that my questions and concerns were heard and addressed and they did so with such genuine care. The one we went in for (black truffle garlic parm) was sold out so clearly that definitely is a good choice so we will be checking back after the new year to order. I only cook with olive oil or plant butter, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the oils here comparably priced to grocery stores. I purchased a fig balsamic (for me - I love ANYTHING fig), some stuffed grape leaves (for me!) and some olive oil as gifts. The grape leaves were addictive. I finished the entire container in two days. The service was fantastic. I was greeted upon entering, and after explaining it was my first time in the store, the lady showed me around and told me about the history of Dimitri's and helped me decide on what to purchase. She let me sample some of the balsamic. They have a full olive bar and fresh breads, baked in coordination with a local bakery. Will definitely start buying my olive oil here. Their new location is BIGGER and BETTER than ever! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Wondering if they'll be getting more of that yummy snack or seasoning you picked up there last week? Ask them! They're always happy to get things back in stock if you want them to (supply chain permitting, of course). If they don't have it or can't get it, they'll help you figure out where you should be able to get it. I watched one of the owners spend 10-15 min with a customer trying to find a couple of specific ingredients for a dish they were planning on making that night. The owner called another local store to ask if they had those items in stock and then gave the customer full directions to drive there from Culinary Architecture. Besides their excellent selection of packaged goods and produce, the food and drinks they make in-house are also exceptionally good! Sweet treats? Meat (and No-Meat) pies? Bread? Caffeine fix? They have it all, with a solid selection of staple recipes and a rotating menu of new/seasonal items! Oh my goodness -absolutely superb flavors, freshness, and ambiance. the sauce that came with the salmon roll was a very special treat!! It is immediately evident that quality ingredients are a primary focus and I appreciate that. - selections on the menu are unique and memorable. Service wise, it was very pleasant to not be rushed to eat and go - a lovely area for great food and conversation. They also have a grocery area, as well as some unusual gifts. I will return!!
