Firstly I'm a retired executive chef and have opened and run three Italian restaurants over my 26 yrs of experience.My family eats at Pompei 's 2-3 times a year when I visit from Tennessee. The food has always been good but this time it was excellent with huge portions. My wife had the clams and absolutely loved it. Only my dad could finish all his! It comes with some nice warm types of bread and real butter pads. If you aren't totally full they give you mini cannolis at the end. The service was prompt and attentive, our waitress seemed fairly new and inexperienced but she made up for all the little errors with a smile and " ill take care of that immediately". Since the full remodel the place is very elegant and very comfortable, beautifully appointed.Well the only quibble I had was and I don't know if its I'm from Tennessee or i its just I know exactly food costs but I'm guessing the menu was up 25 to 50 percent since last time we were here before the remodel. This used to be our favorite local Italian restaurant for take-out and dining in. No longer after the horrible service we got for delivery via Door Dash. Gave us the wrong sauce on the penne primavera. Menu stated cream sauce and I requested substitute red sauce instead. Was delivered with cream sauce. Called restaurant and got nothing but arguments from person who answered phone, who said my American born husband cannot read English, to the "manager" who seemed totally unaware that the menu stated cream sauce. Finally "manager" read menu item and realized it says "cream sauce." Said they could not deliver what we wanted and that we had to pick it up. Was able to instantly get refund from Door Dash, plus $10 Door Dash credit. read more

I haven't had anything I didn't like from here. Regular slices are great, sometimes they'll have some deep dish slices out those are probably my favorite. They make great hero's as well. Their baked ziti is awesome. Definitely the better pizza place in the area. read more

We catered from Pompei for my son's birthday. The food was excellent and on time. The staff is super warm and accommodating. They made the process very easy. The food was packed really well and presentable. We got lots of compliments from our guests and I will definitely order again. The cold antipasto platter was especially well done as usually these can be thrown together, but they really took care to have fresh meats and cheese. The only time I'm not enjoying the ambiance, a slice and pepperoni knots at Pompei for lunch is when I'm not in the area. The food is to die for. Came here tonight with a few friends and everything was awesome. They currently remodeled the new dining room room and it looks beautiful. The food was on point fried calamari was crunchy. Pizza was great and the tomato sauce was perfect. Will definitely be back with other friends. read more

Honestly I like this place the food is pretty good they redecorated and looks great but honestly they are so busy and don't have time for customer service. I stopped here for lunch, and the counter guy was a younger gentleman. Very professional and polite. He took great care of me. I ordered a regular slice, and you can learn a lot about a pizza place by the regular slice. I also got a Sicilian slice and an eggplant patty. The eggplant patty is not to be overlooked. It is delicious. It has mozzarella cheese inside and tomato on top. They drizzle balsamic glaze over it just before serving. Win win wow. All the food was perfectly cooked and made my day. They are renovating the dining room. I look forward to having dinner here. If in this area definitely give them a try. I believe Vincent is one of the owners. I spoke with him and also a true pro. I love this Place. I have gone in several times and everyone is super nice. The food is so Good i bet Dave Portnoy would give it a 8.7 (NO ROOKIE SCORES) however one major downside in my opinion is their website if you go thru seemless or grubhub you can't order drinks properly. I do online ordering more than pick-up because I have a big family and rely on delivery. There only drink options are Coffee Tea and espresso - Who in their right mind orders a large pie with a coffee. That don't even make sense. There have been times in the past where I call and we order Garlic knots and they replace it with a drink for me, but that also is inconvenient. Today In over a year I purchased pizza from Rocky Point Pizza instead. Because it was easier to order food and drinks for my family. I hope they taste as good as Pompei. The issue I have is - I feel that the grubhub and seemless are just after thoughts - and as a business they have a responsibility to tighten up and become more profitable by making the additions the customers want. read more

Service wonderful but has become overpriced. Salad portion small. The only wine they offer is barely drinkable with a small pour. Truly authentic Italian food, some of our favorites include; chicken parm, chicken marsala, chicken milanese, chicken verde, tortellini in brodo, hot antipasto, yes a lot of chicken, but all excellent! First time in there prolly the last. Thought we'd try them out since all good pizza places closing up. So the good the garlic nots where good fluffy and great tastes. The bad. The pizza was very thin and salty. Also greasy. Had to dry the pizza before eating it. For the price wasn't a good meal for the price. Spent almost $40 for the pie and 6 nots and 2 drinks. Over all of anything gave it a try but prolly won't be back there. For the price and taste of all can find better pizza. read more

Good food, really good food . I have been going there for always a slice or 2 of pizza or hero's . Finally had a early dinner with from old friends in the restaurant part of the place . First off we had a very sweet waitress and fantastic service. The meal was price not bad in these times . I got a delicious Chicken and Shrimp dinner with Salad and Pasta . If you love tomato and mozzarella, drizzled with balsamic glaze... there is special slice waiting for you at Pompei! I love to take these slices home cold, to heat up later.. they reheat perfectly in the toaster oven! Just one slice is a meal on it's own. I really enjoy their Cesar salad wraps also. I bought the rest they had on the shelf yesterday! The ratio of cheese (shaved Romano cheese) to grilled chicken is spot on. For those of you who may not be a fan anchovies, don't fret! This recipe is fishy free. :-) If your looking for a good food comma, I recommend their Penne Ala Vodka, that's another good dish. Affordable, reliable and delicious! read more

Very mixed review if I'm going to be completely honest. Started off with getting the Cream Spinach Slice, which was fantastic! Then the stuffed meat slice was meh. Like... Just cold on the inside, And just seemed to have a weird "Old" taste to it. Seemed like it has been refrigerated for longer then a day. They have Pepperoni stuffed garlic knots which are pretty much any ordinary regular knot but... a roni stuffed in it. Good, but nothing super exciting. The Snapple drink out of the refrigerator was room temperature which I thought was really weird. Usually if there is something wrong with the refrigerator I'd just assume management would have a "Sorry for the Inconvenience" posted up. I thought maybe they happened to JUST stock the fridge. However all the drinks seemed to be roughly the same temperature. I'd have to try the location again. Perhaps give an updated review later down the road. read more

I thought let me try a new place being that I always go to Alfedos pizzeria. The pizza is good all went well till the man was going back and forth with me about the soda I ordered which was doctor pepper and instead I got root beer. im tasting it and he's still saying its doctor pepper as if I was trying to get something for free . my daughter said forget it I'll drink it . so I left it alone . Omg. Where have I been? First time at this great restaurant. Don't know why the yelp reviews are so low. Started with amazingly fresh homemade calamari, then a dozen baked clams that were also very good. Freshest bread with carafe of merlot. Entrees consisted of shrimp and flounder oregonatta, chicken & shrimp francaise, chicken sorrentino, and chicken ala vodka. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and delicious. Our waiter Kevin was great. Can't wait to go back. Btw dessert was the best italian ricotta cheese cake we've had and shouldn't be missed. read more

Pompei is outrageous. We had the chicken parmigiana pizza and the chicken slider special (chicken cutlet with pesto, mozzarella and tomato on a ciabatta toasted roll) plus we had the Greek salad.
