I really like Pompano beach. They have a fantastic pier, which is always a nice place to stroll and get some sea air. They have plenty of nice restaurants. I also enjoyed checking out he OLD TOWN of Pompano, which offers some nice are murals.

The first time I came to this beach a couple years ago, I was not too impressed because of all the seaweed. Being from Hawaii, I prefer clear clean waters. But, I have since changed my mind after our last visit here. There was minimal seaweed and the waters are so clear. The walk out to the deeper waters is about 30m and the water is cooler out there. This beach is a perfect for families with little children because of the shallow beginning. You can prop a chair right in the water because it's so hot up on the beach. Thankful for some clouds in the sky for a little break. Our last day here wasn't looking too promising because of the stronger quicker waves and seaweed afloat, but after an hour or so it calmed down and it was back to the nice clear waters we experienced on our first days. There's also tons of seashells to collect so bring something to carry them back in.

Great for calisthenic workouts then hit the beach.

What an awesome this city is to live!!! Definitely live my circle!!! Was able to watch the parade for Memorial Day. Thank you to all the lost soldiers for dying for our country! I'm so patriotic and love my military, love my police, love my fire/medics, all my first responders doing their part to serve our people... it's such a rewarding job!!! So proud to be part of this family!!!! Best way to live is making a difference! :))))) Thank you all for your service!!

Pompano Beach is the 6th largest city in Broward County; with beautiful beaches and many things to do. I love going to the beach and the pier. There are so many water activities; jet ski, fishing, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, there is scuba diving; view the coral or Shipwreck park in the ocean. You won't be bored with all the options to choose from. I loved dining at Beach House Pompano with ocean views and drinking beers at 26 Degrees Brewing. This is a true tourist destination. I love walking around and exploring; see, smell, and hear the ocean at the same time. As a previous local, I would frequent this city since there were so much to offer, just like the rest of Broward County!

It looks like a very nice quiet ocean beach in a nice area. There are restaurants and bars nearby. It's also a good place to go fishing off the pier. The pier looks like it has been remodeled and is clean and smooth for walking. We also loved seeing the pelicans flying around, hoping for some treats from the public. Fun for the whole family without huge crowds. It is a clean beach and looks like it is well taken care of.

This is a nice pier to walk out on. My kids fished off the pier for a small fee and had so much fun! The beach is a nice white sand beach but a little crowded.

One of my favorite places to take a walk. Very few beaches in South Florida have a beautiful walkway that lines the beach. Pompano, is not as busy as some of the other beaches and the restaurants are new and clean. The Public beach starts at A1A and Atlantic Blvd. There's street parking, if you can find a space, and plenty of lots near by. Pay for parking on the app and it runs around $3 an hour. Stroll the walkway and you will find families having picnics, and parties. The Pier is nice and one of the few that doesn't charge. $6 if you want to fish. There's a nice outdoor gym, if you like to work out, and plenty of places to get something to eat. They even have charging stations for electric cars. Beautiful clean white sand beach, it's such a nice place to relax and chill.

The overall experience of visiting this beach was nice. Walking the beachside was a little bit of a challenge because it was a slopey and the sand was scorching hot but that's the doing of mother nature. Take comfortable slides or water shoes to walk the scorching hot sand. The beach was very clean and the play area along the boardwalk or pier was clean and the kids appeared to enjoy it. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from, and a nice selection of gift shop.

Hillsboro Beach is a tiny Florida coastal town set on a peninsula between the Intracoastal and the…read moreAtlantic Ocean. Interestingly it has a connection to English nobility. The town was named after the Earl of Hillsborough, who was given land in Florida from the King of England after the First Treaty of Paris was signed where England gave up Cuba and the Philippines to Spain in exchange for receiving Florida. Hillsboro also has a rich history with the Barefoot Mailmen. The Barefoot Mailmen were eleven US postal workers who delivered the mail in South Florida from 1885 to 1893 by walking barefoot on the beach from Palm Beach to Miami. Before the mailman started the route, a letter from Lake Worth to Miami could take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to arrive and would be routed through Cuba. The annual salary of a Barefoot Mailman was $600 a year. The trip started on Monday and took three days to get to Miami, Then they would turn around and come back for a round trip of 136 miles. Eighty miles were walking and fifty six miles were by boat. The three day trek down the coast was not without it's danger. You can find a Barefoot Mailman statue in front of the Hillsboro town hall dedicated to James "Ed" Hamilton who mysteriously vanished in 1897 while crossing the Hillsboro Inlet. The mystery of what happened to Hamilton is fascinating. Was he eaten by an alligator, killed by native people, or did he drown? No one will ever know. Although Hillsboro Beach is small in size at only a little over three miles and 900 miles at its widest point, it has a lot of charm. The only road through town is A1A and here it is nicknamed Millionaire's Mile for the mansions that line it. The most prominent feature of the town is the 1907 Hillsboro Lighthouse which you can tour monthly with the Lighthouse Preservation Society. The beaches in town are all private. You can go to North Ocean Beach Park in Pompano Beach to the south or Deerfield Beach Park to the north. Hillsboro Inlet Park is a nice place to picnic and get a great view of the lighthouse. I always enjoy driving through this stretch of A1A when heading up the coast.
