We saw little river band with Orleans in March, What a great venue I had blast! It's very intimate no bad seats! We were section C row 3 and they were amazing. Bought tickets for tonight's show (LRB) months ago and had front row seats. Got there to find two rows of folding chairs in front of us. Asked the folks how they got their tickets and they said they called up and got them today at the box office and saved $30 by not using the AXS system. There were actually quite a few seats available in the place but those of us who actually bought first got messed over as the chairs created an narrower aisle than normal and we had people's heads blocking our view as they were on our same level. What kind of business is this? Everything else was pretty good, but this was significant enough to leave a very bad taste. read more

They are not correct, every seat is not a good view. We purchased 2nd row seats & the people in the first row stood up the whole time, you're in the first row & no one is in front of you, ridiculous, plus a girl with a giant cowboy hat was in front of us. I hadn't seen a show at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater in at least 10 years probably closer to 15 years since there haven't been that many shows of interest in their calendar. Then came the shows with the Violent Femmes, and off we went. The experience was great without feeling overcrowded and overwhelming from drink and merch lines and parking. And the turnout was packed. What is really great about the amenities are two things: one is the parking, which were able to find lot spacing close by without needing to do the grassy field behind the amphitheater; two is the additional roof that was added since the last time I saw a show there. The rooftop allows everyone to enjoy the show on stage without worrying about whether bad weather is going to hit and everyone gets soaked. The entrance process was easy between the metal detectors and checking for tickets. The viewing was great, especially where we had front row seats and could stand at the barriers by the stage. The acoustics were good and the sound wasnt deafening. All and all, the experience was awesome and I hope more shows come down to this venue. read more

I'm here for the UB40 concert featuring Maxi Priest and The English Beat. Being my first time, finding the amphitheatre wasn't easy. Luckily I found a park staff that pointed me in the right direction. Arriving 30 minutes early, I was able to find a decent park which was a few steps away from the amphitheatre. Security check went smoothly....I only had my keys and phone, then I showed the e-ticket for further entry. There was a small group of vendors selling artist merchandise, various quick bites, and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages. The amphitheatre was large with plenty of seats; exposed to the outside, which was shielded by a metal covering and big a** fans (I swear that's exactly what's labeled on 'em). I found my section and seat easily and waited for the show to begin. The show started promptly at 7pm with British Reggae vocalist, Maxi Priest, singing his hits: Close to You, Wild World, and a few more. Next was The English Beat. I never heard of this band, but they played some nice songs. Finally UB40 came on stage. Over two hours of hits such as Kingston Town, Bring Me Your Cup, Cherry Oh Baby, Red Red Wine, and many more. The band is celebrating 45 years and sang a couple of songs from their new album. The whole concert was a good vibe. Everyone was dancing and singing. I enjoyed myself so much that I didn't want it to end. There are much more artists performing at the amphitheatre, but none that I know of so I'm not sure when I would be returning. Went to the Styx show last night and had a great time (awesomely talented band) but the venue has some room for improvement. First, getting through security was a nightmare - no true queue/line to get through metal detectors (which I am grateful and happy to walk through), so people standing all around trying to cut each other off - really not orderly. Second, the acoustics were left to be desired where at times the bass was beyond muffled. Lastly, leaving the venue was as bad as the security at the beginning - no organization and nobody directing traffic to get out. The same people that were trying to cut to get into the amphitheater were now the same people in their oversized vehicles trying to go over parking barriers to leave. While my husband and I enjoyed our seats and the music of the band, I don't think we will be back due to the lack of organization with procedures. read more

Pompano Amphitheater is a pretty cool venue to see a concert in. I just saw my second show there and it's was as great as the first. They have about 3,000 seats here, so you're definitely going to get a pretty decent view no matter where you sit. That said, the only suggestion I would give to management is that video monitors on either side of the stage would definitely enhance the experience. The concession prices are high as is the case for most venues in the area. The food selection is pretty basic too, but in addition to the typical nachos and popcorn they also have a few food stands by the entrance which offer empanadas and burgers and such. This place definitely gets five stars from me. Great spot to see a show and like I say for most concert spots in the area I wish they had more acts coming through. read more

Spend a lot of money on front row tickets for a concert. They set up folding chairs in front of us and allowed those people to stand for the entire concert blocking our view all night. Ushers were no help. They told them they couldn't make them sit down. That place was a disappointment. read more

Went to see the Bret Michaels concert last night. Had front row seats - center. Could not even sit in our seat due to the volume of people standing in front of us - that did not have seats in that area. Security would not do anything about it....so why pay the price to go? This was not our first time there but had higher hopes for this visit. It's a very nice venue to go to a concert. It's outside and it is covered. It is located inside the city park. It's been renovated and it's a nice alternative to the other venues in the area. Nice lighting, seats were covered, good concessions but the drinks were expensive. We got lucky with the parking and got a free spot in the park along with many others. You can bring one bottle of water inside. You have to go through metal detectors but it goes quickly. However, when I was going to see Styx the line was very long. I'll be back again. read more

This is such a great venue for concerts! There's also standing room for some concerts right in front of the stage! Its stadium style seating, but the stairs are not steep for those that have difficulty going up and down. Parking is super easy. There's ample parking in the grass right by the gate that leads you in and more spots directly across the way from it, too. Plenty of places to get adult beverages and snacks. The prices are also very reasonable. I've been at the amphitheater for the America concert and Melissa Ethridge. Both times I had an awesome experience. Definitely will back! read more

That is such a great venue for concerts. You are up close and personal and get great pictures. Slightly closer than the West Palm Beach amphitheater. The food prices are incredibly affordable. And the drinks are about the same as any regular place. The only thing that this venue needs is some huge fans because it doesn't have such a great windflow. read more

There is no Handicapped parking in the Lot right next to the venue. They have well over 60 spots, in that lot. It seems they are more worried about providing parking for the Event workers and security, whom have healthy bodies. I, with a painful mobility issue, had to walk a half mile to get to the entrance before and after the show. Also no elevators at the venue, but plenty of stairs. My knee's were in a lot of pain the whole next day after the show. I may never return. read more

Interesting venue that it's located inside a city park. Parking wasn't too bad right before the concert. All seats were covered. Sometimes it was more convenient to stand upstairs at the top where you could move around and Dance as you please. Drinks were expensive as with any amphitheater these days. You are allowed to bring one water bottle inside. However, we did not. They're about $6 each inside. You may as well get a beer for $9. Not too far from Boca area. The long ladies restroom line amazingly went fast!! A plus for that. You didn't have to walk very far for a drink or restroom. Love that! read more

LOVE LOVE, this venue. Easy to get in and out of. Close to home....I think they need to have more concerts there. I have been to several, ZZtop, Pat Benetar, Yes, Get the Led Out (twice), and each time I had seats up front, 3rd or 4th row, and I paid well for them....however the next concert i go to there I will purchase the cheap seats, way in the back. Since once the concert gets started everyone from the cheap seats moves and stands in front of the stage, and the venue staff, does nothing. Not really fair for people who spend a lot on tickets and may want to sit comfortably and watch the concert. read more

I thought after ll these years on South Florida I had been to all the best venues in South Florida. I had been to the large arenas, the small venues, the large and small spots around town. But one spot I hadn't been to, (well once a long time ago but hadn't really appreciated it), is the Pompano Beach Amphitheatere. We went the other day, a group of friends for a benefit concert. It was supposed to rain so as we wandered about the outside area, many people had rain jackets on. But the place was packed. Apparently many people like us knew it was worth coming regardless of the weather. There was an outside stage(I didn't expect that), where additional bands were playing. people were chillin everywhere, it had a real hippy vibe to it. When we took our seats I realized how small the amphitheater was compared to similar outdoor stadiums. The entire place was great seats, especially compared to larger spots. It felt like we were right on top of the stage. The sound was solid. it enveloped the crowd well. There was some sounds from outside the stadium that got in, but that was about the only flaw of the night. The biggest compliment I can give is that before we were e en back to the car at the end of the night, I was googling up what other concerts were going to be at the Pompano Beach Ampitheatre. And I think I saw a couple shows I look forward to seeing. read more

This can be a great place to see a concert. I came here for The Gin Blossoms and for Firefall/Pure Prairie League/Poco and both were fun shows. Not too expensive, (concerts are often on Groupon,) and parking is free. They have food vendors and walk up bars as well as beer vendors who walk around. It's a large open-air venue & it's fun to people-watch at events. Well, this is South Florida & 2 out of 3 isn't bad I guess. We came to see Rick Springfield, Loverboy, Greg Kihn & Tommy Tutone. The weather was nice for the first 2 acts; however it was like a monsoon shortly after Loverboy started playing. We tried to take shelter under a small tent, along with 50 other people; but when the rain is coming at an angle a roof isn't much protection! The rain came on, stopped for a few minutes, and then resumed. Loverboy kept performing....they had a covered roof! We ended up leaving early, totally soaked. Will we be back? Yes, probably, but lesson learned. Bring rain ponchos if you'll be there in the summer! read more

A Hidden gem for concerts! Parking is easy and getting in and out is a snap. All the seats have a good view. With Covid, I felt better going there knowing it was open air but still protected from the elements with giant canopies above. The drinks and food from the vendors are very expensive.
