I took my husband to the Polynesian Luau for his birthday. He isn't usually too enthusiastic about trying new places, but I thought this might be different. We arrived about 4:40 for the 5:00 show and parked behind the building. There were several spots on the side of the building, but I didn't feel like driving around. There was a lovely sitting area while we waited to go in. The staff was extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. At 5:00 on the dot, they blew conch horns and led us to the dining area. We had wonderful seats and were told we could go to the buffet as soon as we liked. I had heard mixed reviews about the food, so I was a bit nervous, especially being his birthday. There were two separate sections, one for hot and one for cold. The cold side had salads; fruit, green, macaroni and crab (which was AMAZING!!!). The hot side had fried rice, beef meatball, teri chicken, pulled pork, rolls and veggies. I thought the selection was more than adequate and although the food wasn't necessarily 5 star, I had no complaints. They had chocolate and vanilla cake for desert as well. The show was in two parts, the first consisting mostly of singing. I felt like there was a problem with the announcer's microphone because everything sounded muffled. It completely gave out and he tried shouting, but no one could hear him. Later he came out with another which was much better. Some of the jokes were a little corny, but they took a 10 minute intermission and then they came out with dancers and fire twirlers and drummer and I was REALLY impressed. My husband said he enjoyed himself, which was a huge compliment to everyone there. I would highly recommend this dinner and show!!!! read more

Buffet food was as expected for a Buffett dinner show for $60. The show was good. Lots of talent on the stage with some natives of the islands that seemed to care about sharing their culture and its traditions. The fire was entertaining and for me scary. I definitely kept my eyes on the show and was ready to head to the exit if anything went wrong. Safety was a priority which was reassuring. The water in the ladies room sink was scalding hot. Atmosphere and show was everything! Great staff who were on point. The performance was excellent. You can see the effort in everything they do. The food was alright. I was lucky enough to be in line at the buffet when they put up fresh chicken teriyaki. It wasn't even hot..?? So was the rice with mixed veggies. The macaroni salad was very sweet with sugar. We took our 3 year old grandson to see the luau. The main speaker was entertaining. Our first experience was good. The show was okay. For the money it was good value. The food was okay as well. My favorite was the cake. The service was very good they have a large staff. The place was very roomy except for the tables have you looking at the stage at an angle. Drinks are available everywhere. We went to the Polynesian Fire Luau tonight and had a good time overall, but there are definitely a few things they could improve. The waiting area before the show was packed and really warm. They had a couple fans going, but a few others weren't even turned on, and there weren't enough seats for how many people were crammed in there. It made the wait feel longer and kind of uncomfortable. The show was listed as starting at 8 PM, but that's actually when they started letting people in. Every family was stopped for a photo at the entrance, which slowed everything down. I did appreciate that seats were pre-assigned, so you didn't have to fight the crowd or rush to grab a spot. That part was smooth. Once you're seated, you head to the buffet. The food was okay--not amazing, but not bad either. You're seated with your group or with other guests, depending on your party size, which can be hit or miss. The show itself started off a little slow with mellow music and pacing, but it really picked up toward the end. The finale was awesome--high energy, great performances, and definitely the highlight of the night. Dinner at 8 PM is already pretty late, and with the delays getting in, the whole evening ran long. If they streamlined the check-in and photo process, it would make a big difference. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars. The show was wonderful. There are some very talented people in the show. The fire part of the show was amazing. Unfortunately the food was absolutely awful. The pulled pork was like soup and very fatty. The chicken had some kind of weird texture to it. Not sure what was up with that. The vegetables were overcooked. And it was utterly chaos and way too many people trying to get to the buffet line and back to their seats. If you're going for the food you'll probably be a bit disappointed. If you're going for the show then it's a good mix of fire, dancing, audience participation and of course some comedic moments from the onstage performers. It's a buffet that also includes soft drinks and slices of cake for dessert. If you get there early there's a waiting area with a full bar and a couple of bartenders. Then they start letting folks in, stopping groups/couples for the obligatory photo opportunity and then escort you to your assigned seats. Once inside you belly up to the buffet and bring it back to your seats. We splurged the extra $10 per seat to sit up front, which was nice, because most folks did not so they were seated about 15 feet behind us. It's basically a hospital cafeteria spread. Everything was pretty much cold on the buffet because they put it in the warmers like 10 minutes before they open the door so nothing has time to heat. Very unprofessional, disorganized, disrespectful to patrons and we won't be back. The photographer got combative with our group because we didn't want to wait in line for a photo, we wanted to be seated. Doors opened at 4, they had people waiting in like a lobby area, they had over an hour to do photos, just disorganized. Just not an enjoyable experience. The experience overall was very good to excellent. The drinks are slightly overpriced but that is to be expected for a tourist attraction. Although overpriced the drinks were excellent. Our party size was four. In the beginning, the waiting room was slightly warm. Although commercial fans were running it needed some type of coolant agent. The entry waiting room was neat. It had a variety of Hawaiian tribal knick knacks that one can photograph with the family. Truly cute. My aunt was in awe with all the different artwork. The entry into the buffet room was delayed due to family photography being taken. Now I believe they should have two lines since it is predetermined seating. Some guests did not want the photography. There should be two lines with guiding escorts to their seating. Trust me I know why they do the photography only line. One it stops the mad rush that guests are prone to do when their isn't a delay and two it stops those people who think they don't "deserve to wait in a line" with the rest of the other guests from cutting ahead of the line. I personally saw this happen and my mental comment was "I am glad for the photography delay because that person only showed their entitled true color Now once inside the food was average. Pulled pork and tilapia were cooked very well while the steamed vegetables were over steamed and very bland. Macaroni salad was decent. I have to mention the table attendants: they were very courteous and extremely helpful. For me that was a pleasant surprise. In other venues or establishments their attitude is "Do not bother me I will get to you when I am good and ready" The show was fantastic. Although not perfect, some fire twirls were missed, still it was exhilarating. The energy that the cast exuded through this hour and half show was incredible and mesmerizing. These ladies and gentlemen have my admiration. Entertaining with fire isn't an easy task. The songs, and the tribal dances with the guest interactions, were both funny with cliche jokes, and enjoyable. In conclusion, I asked my aunts and my wife: "Would you come back knowing we would be watching the same show". We all said, including me, "HELL YES!!!" We are realists. Not every show will be perfect, not every meal will be perfect in a venue like this (a 5 star Michelin restaurant has a different expectation). This is family entertainment environment. This was an absolutely fun show and experience to take the family to. Very entertaining and the performers are very funny so it's a good laugh too. A couple things to note (from the eyes of parents with two little kids so keep that in mind). The show was a little on the long side which is usually great but the real fire part doesn't happen to the very end. They throw in a couple fire twirling/juggling acts in the middle but that's it until the end. So my kids (2 and 4) were getting a little antsy but did have fun dancing to the music and watching the performers. Second note is the food was very lackluster. It was not bad, but generally not very flavorful or anything to write home about. On our annual summer trip to Myrtle Beach, we were looking for something new and fun to do as usual. We've already worn out our welcome at Medieval Times and Pirates Voyage, among so many other things to do in the area. One of my family members scoured the internet for other options and came across this Polynesian Fire Luau. We were definitely skeptical at first, and the price was quite high per person. But it was a special occasion, as my grandmother can't usually make it for these trips and this may be her last one. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the show was. There was a large cast of dancers, musicians, and performers. They didn't simply play music and dance, they also explained the various islands from which each unique dance originated. They eventually did that most famous of Polynesian dances - the haka - even inviting several attendees to join them on stage. Of course, there was also hula dancing for the ladies. And the show wouldn't be complete without quite a lot of fire spinning and juggling. There was a huge buffet of a variety of food from all food groups. The roasted chicken was probably one of the most popular items. You will not leave without a full belly. There are also plenty of drinks, including alcohol for those who imbibe. We got some excellent photos, and the ladies seemed to really enjoy the shirtless men in their photos too! Highly recommended if you're planning a visit to dirty Myrtle. read more

It was all very well cooked. It was hot tasty and then the desserts. There was many choices for desserts, and those themselves were great as well Not so sure about the bar cause we don't drink all I can tell you is that there was a line and for non-alcohol there was free fruit punch and water. If you wanted to purchase soda, you could do so. As far as the seating goes, there was no room for you to put your elbows on the table, but don't let that deter you. Fun for the whole family! We visited as a group of 6: 2 grandparents, 2 adults, and 2 grandkids - 17 and 12. Convenient location in Daytona with lots of street parking. Staff members have leis waiting when you check in and the bar was busy with island drinks. Seating is based on when you reserve so we were right up front and had a great view. The buffet dinner was okay (fried tilapia, pulled pork, teriyaki chicken, meatballs, fried rice, mixed veggies, mac salad, fruit salad, and cake). Lots of self serve drinks too. Iced tea, lemonade, canned sodas. Everything was easy and fun. The dancers were excellent, the tone upbeat, and lots of laughs. Interactive too. All the men stood and learned the Hakka and the women hulaed. The grand finale were fire dancers who were excellent but the smoke was too much for some guests and the drumming was very loud. Excellent show! Super south seas dancing, singing, and fire trick performances! The entire show is wonderful and the interior atmosphere is fun! Very entertaining and it was a full audience. The packed crowd had fun! Food was good, especially the chicken. That said, the food could be outstanding if they just kicked it up a notch with slightly improved Hawaiian cuisine like in Honolulu. Maybe add Americanized type Chinese and Thai food to the menu too? If the food quality and taste went from an 8 to a 10, the show would be the best entertainment attraction in Florida! Audiences want outstanding food. I think people would be willing to pay a little extra money per ticket for a better Hawaiian/ Chinese/Thai food buffet. It can be done. There are like three vegetarian options and vegans can have unlimited fruit and salad. I would recommend veg heads eat prior. The show was fun and the staff is super friendly. I thought it was a good show. The girls dance around and the guys do their fire thing. It's a great family event. I wouldn't bring family members that are constantly on the phone. You won't get your moneys worth. I brought our infant cause we didn't have a babysitter. He got some sleep during the show but the audience cheers woke my baby. Food was not good . The serving staff was very good. We arrived at 4:30. The door was open. The open sign was lit. We had to use the restroom after traveling an hour and a half from Jacksonville. My daughter went up to get a drink from the bar and was told that the door was not supposed to be opened or unlocked and we were not supposed to be in there . After that, it was like pure chaos There was a photographer that was taking photographs if you wanted. We did not want, but was told we had to wait until she was finished. So my other daughter went around to ask if we could be seated, and we were accused of skipping in line! The owner of this establishment is one of the most rudest people I have ever come across that is in business. Before anybody spends their money on this place, they need to check all the reviews. ! When I booked our party of nine, I specifically told them that I had two handicap people. But nevertheless, we had to stand and wait until the photographer took pictures.
