Kauai Waimea Canyon & Wailua River Enjoyed this tour a lot. Our guide was Kana'e and she was wondeful! We also went to the Waimea Canyon, Kauai Coffee and the Spouting Horn. Too many pictures to share. You go and take some of your own

This company contracts with Princess Cruises for their excursions in Kauai. The driver (a woman with long black hair and a very sharp laugh - never introduced herself nor told us her name) was really really bad. She left us waiting for extended periods of time with no information, played the radio really loud through the speakers, didn't allow for traffic, and brought us back to the boat much later than planned when the line to reboard was crazy long. You'd think a contract with Princess would be really good for their business and they'd want to do a really good job. Not this driver! Quite the opposite.

What a great time! We did the Waimea Canyon, Wailua Riverboat, Spouting Horn, and Kauai coffee tour. Our driver, "Eaton", was very kind, interactive with his passengers, and most importantly, very informative. We learned so much about the island of Kauai, and were able to enjoy the views without the stress of driving ourselves. Our bus was a smaller bus, and we only had 14 on our bus so it was a perfect size group. Would highly recommend this tour, especially if you can request Eaton to be your driver. Definitely worth it!

My advice, don't have a strict schedule that is based around the bus times because the bus runs on its own schedule, not what is posted. Always follow where the bus is, especially on the weekends, because having to wait another 1-2 hours for the next bus is not ideal. Not much seating, but there was never not enough seats. I can see why they don't advertise the bus to tourists.

A far cry from the $130 a day + gas fee for a car. But that's just the monetary benefit. The real benefits beyond environmental or adding to the congested roads was meeting people. We talked to such wonderful representatives of the island, found new places and saw a different side of life beyond the hotel on Kauai. The drivers were kind and helpful. The passengers engaging and on one occasion a young man gave up his seat for me to sit down on a full bus. (Note that was the only time we had any problem getting a seat on the bus too! ) So I would highly recommend the bus, Am a fan and will continue to be a rider when ever we are on Island. Thank you for your service. And thank you for the wonderful App that gives schedules, directions as well as tracks where the buses are.

M Tours Hawaii - The racist employee, in the purple shirt, who told my wife to go back to India.

I am writing this review to warn potential customers about our encounter with a racist employees…read moreworking for this company who told my wife to "go back to India where you come from." I was driving with my family up Highway 505 to view the Waimea Canyon. Since this is an extremely windy road with lots of switch backs and sharp bends, the speed limit was 25 mph. The M. Tours Hawaii (MTH) tour bus was driving behind us most of the way up to the canyon. After parking at the first scenic lookout, the MTH bus driver started yelling at me for driving too slow. When I explained that I was driving the speed limit, her response was that I should be driving 5-10 miles over the limit. Because she was being confrontational, but I walked away (as she kept yelling at me) to join my family and enjoy the beautiful of the scenery of the canyon. Returning to our car, we noticed the MTH driver pulled into a handicap spot, the only one available at the lookout. My wife walked over to the bus and notified the driver that she had parked in the handicap spot. The MTH driver replied: "You know what? Why don't you go back to India where you come from!" This infuriated everyone in our party, but we felt we would take the high road and moved on. Then I had another encounter with the MTH driver further down the road at the Waimea Canyon Lookout: the MTH driver was yucking it up with the folks at the fruit stand retelling the story. She knew I was easily within earshot and could hear everything because she was staring me in the eyes, glaring, when I walked by. I'm disappointed in the fruit stand folks for finding the "go back to where you come from" comment so funny. One last thing I wanted to point out: the driver was smoking inside the tour bus which is illegal in the state of Hawaii. It's pretty selfish to expose your customers to second and third hand smoke, if you ask me. I did attempt to call the company and even texted the number listed on the internet but did not receive a reply. Kauai is a beautiful location with many friendly people living there, and I won't let this incident ruin my experience. But it is disheartening to know that even in paradise there will still be ignorant, hateful people. For this reason, I would think twice about using this tour company.

Are you visiting Kauai but don't have a car and want to see Waimea Canyon? Did you book a cruise…read moreand only have one day to see the Na Pali Coast? Maybe you did rent a car but you don't feel super comfortable driving through the canyon? Or maybe you just arrived in Kauai and you aren't familiar with the area and aren't sure where all the best places are?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Kauai Tour Guy is for you!  This was our first visit to Kauai and we really weren't familiar with all the places to see and we knew we could count on Doug to show us around. After we booked our tour, he asked us what we wanted out of the day, so that he could tailor the tour to match exactly what we wanted to see. Doug was so nice and accommodating. Since we were staying right on the way to where he was taking us for our tour, he came by and picked us up on on his way. We hopped into his SUV and we were on our way!  We made multiple stops all along the canyon and Doug took us to see the most amazing sights! If we ever wanted to make an unplanned stop, he was willing to pull over and let us take our time.  Some of the highlights include: Waimea Canyon, Koke'e State Park, a "chocolate river", Cairn Garden, and several beautiful beaches.  Since his tours are tailored to each group, every tour is different depending on what you want to see, which we really appreciated. Although our tour was several hours long, Doug entertained us all along the way. He was so welcoming, personable, and funny and really made for a great day. At one stop, we decided to walk down the trail a bit and even though this isn't a hiking tour, he was happy to let us have our fun! One thing we especially liked about this tour compared to some of the other ones available, is that its a small private tour. It was just our group and Doug. We liked that we weren't in a huge tour bus with a million other people. Because it's only a small group tour, it was easier to stop whenever we wanted and to change course, like when we got hungry for lunch for example :) Doug also took some great photos of us along the way and we didn't have ask any strangers to take our photo. We highly recommend this tour, especially if you are wanting to see the stunning views of the canyon and don't have a car or prefer not to drive, if you want a personalized tour, or if you only have one day to see the best of Kauai!

One thing we appreciated is that he didn't just take us to look at beautiful sites, he explained the history and significance of them. It was such a good experience. Our only disappointment was that we only had the one day and wish we could've done his second day tour! I guess we will have to visit again :) We highly recommend this!

We waited for our timeslot at picnic benches under a roofed area. Boarding the boat was easily accessed down a ramp, and helping hands were available to step onto and down into the benched seating area. Along the journey, our narrator was full of interesting information, facts, trivia, and sprinkled it all with fun-loving doses of humor. There was also vibe-setting live music. We watched kayakers paddle down river as we enjoyed the ease of working our way upriver. Once we arrived at the grotto dock, everyone disembarked and took a short walk up along a smooth path. A side path led off to restrooms. The beautiful jungle foliage was all around us. Tall trees, long vines, and bird song surrounded us we walked up to the viewing platform of the grotto. Once there, the ancient and more recent history and cultural significance of the grotto was shared with us. Additionally, we were treated to beautiful traditional music played at weddings, of which they are a venue. Again, the information was fascinating. The grotto itself is a cave opening at the base of a cliff face. A stream of water flows over the top, feeding into a creek, and ferns grow out from all the crevices. It is a very serene place filled with the gentle sound of running water. On the way back, we were again treated to the talented musicians' playing, singing, and hula dancing. A tip jar was available. Disembarkation was very smooth. I really enjoyed the entirety of the trip. I felt like it was a great value for the ticket price. I would certainly recommended this to anyone who enjoys easy-access to nature and traditional and cultural insight.

Once the tour leaves there is a group that plays Hawaiian music and tells stories of the area. Several places along the way have been in movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark. There are many other people who were paddling in the area which is also a good option. Once you arrive to the main area you walk a path back to the Grotto. You can no longer walk into it due to safety reasons. There lots of beautiful plants along the way. The guide tells a little of the history. They also sing the Hawaiian Wedding Song. It was quite humid walking in the area. It is a relaxing trip along the river.

Kauai plantation railway is a fun train ride for the whole family!…read more We made reservations online, and the location was easy to find. It's a pretty solid train ride that gives you a view of the whole estate, including a number of the crops that were grown on Kauai, including sugarcane and bananas. Near the end of the tour, there's also an opportunity to feed the farm animals, which was a big hit with the kids! You can feed the horses, cows, and pigs. Boris, the pig, even does tricks on command, which was my daughter's favorite part of the whole tour! Great adventure that we all enjoyed!

Where things fell short was the dining/happy hour experience beforehand. We arrived on time for happy hour and were told our food would be out before boarding, but it never came. Our server mentioned she'd checked on it a few times and that our ticket had gotten stuck in the queue -- meanwhile we watched tables around us get served. It seemed like she was covering both the bar and the dining section solo, which is a lot to juggle, and I think that stretched her (and our food) too thin. To her credit, she was apologetic and comped our entire food order, which I appreciated. I did ask if we could just get some chips for the kids since we were trying to feed them before the ride, but was pointed toward the gift shop instead -- a small thing, but it would've gone a long way in that moment. We also missed out on the juice that I paid for with the ride but we never got to redeem it in time. Overall, the railway experience itself is worth it, but the food service side needs better staffing support -- maybe a dedicated server for the dining area separate from the bar would help things run smoother for families trying to eat before boarding.
