Polonez is a Polish supermarket stocked with every staple Eastern European staple ingredient you can imagine.
There's jars of beetroot, sauerkraut, pickeled onions, and gherkins. The fridges are packed with tubs of sour cream, unusual cheeses, and sausages of every shape and size.
The products listed above are the ones recognised by this humble, uneducated-in-the-culinary-ways-of-the-Polish reviewer, but there were many other tins, packets, tubs and jars of foodstuffs that I had never laid eyes on before.
I can imagine this place is heaven for Rathmines's Polish community, much like the shops in Australia that stock Tayto and Barry's teabags that the Irish go bananas for. read more
