It is possible to get some other items like wine, bread and cheese.The beauty of it is the size and the opening hours, great to grab few bits and pieces on the way home from work if you you want to cook a nice and teasty dinner. Damien the owner is very helful and he will do his best to order especial ingredients if he does not have them on display as well as putting orders togethes just for collection (be sure he will select good quality) by far one of the best shops in Dublin to get your frut an veg. If you like fruit you like Evergreen, the Peoples Church of Fructose. You can buy pretty much any type of fruit or vegetable in here and it's usually quite well priced. But that's not the main draw of the place. You don't go into Evergreen just to buy oranges, you go in to buy proper big tasty oranges that they don't sell in the chain stores. You buy oranges that have lived good lives, fulfilled their dreams, matured and achieved a sense of peace and humility before being picked off the tree. Or at least that's what I like to think. Convenience - As a regular farmer's market shopper, I have grown accustomed to really amazing produce. Seeing as that there are no farmer's market within walking distance of my house, Evergreen fills that void nicely with similar-quality items. 3. Variety - The availability of hard-to-find fruit and vegetables is fantastic. 4. Price - Very reasonable, competive prices for such nice produce. 5. Taste - The best part is that everything tastes awesome!! In addition, when I went in you could get a free bag of potatoes if you spent over 20euros. I was craving an omelet for lunch and ideally wanted one to go but around where I am based there is really a lack of good egg focused businesses. I'm telling you there is a need and huge market for some entrepreneur to just do egg based dishes. There would be lines of folks out the door I tell you especially the health focused*. Anyhow I passed here and thought, 'I may as well make my own omelet, save some pennies for the weekend.' Such a wonderful shop, full of colours and great smells. Check out the little foodie section at the back. They also have wine in there too. I really liked the egg section (yes I'm obsessed). You can box your own free range eggs, so you can get as many or as little that you like. It's a bit of country in the city. And the omelet? Best greengrocer ever. I think I go like every day because it's so affordable, fresh produce, they have excellent service, and they give stamp cards that once you spend €100 you get €10 off. Holla. They have an incredible selection for such a tiny shop, too, they sell everything from heirloom tomatoes to bufala mozzarella to agave nectar. If you live in or around Camden Street, the bigger shops like Fresh (yuck) or Tesco (last resort) and hit Evergreen for all your produce needs. read more

I like that there's a fruit and veg shop just across the way from Fresh, where you can buy your 5-a-day by weight at a good price rather than by unit at a horrendous markup. They carry a limited but colourful selection of yuppie and hippie (sorry, make that foodie and organic) products, too: small-production hot sauces, pasta flour, chutneys; hummus and tofu and Moonshine milk. I meant to ask if the produce is organic, too, as it's not marked either way- but was too distracted by the excitement of getting Moonshine on a weekday! There are a few bottles of wine behind the till and overall it's a very nice atmosphere and a good place to drop a few quid. read more

An extra thing that you wasn't on your list, but adds a lot to your meal or snack. And they had a credit card machine, I was able to buy using my laser card and saved me a trip to the ATM. When I saw whole, gleaming fennel bulbs & small, delectable bottles of truffle oil, my figurative eyebrows raised - items like these, for me, give a grocery store instant street cred. The shop's front is small; unassuming, yet the neat rows of plump, ripe, and richly colorful produce are bells-and-whistles enough to draw a food or health aficionado through the door. Look, it's pricey, but sometimes in life you get what you pay for and I for one believe this rule applies to fruit and veg. There's a great selection of both, and a limited selection of other items, but I'm there to buy the things I can't get elsewhere, including a few days ago, a blood orange, which I haven't managed to get my grubby mits on in quite some time. They also have fresh bottled juices which look tasty. There's a wonderful selection and you can purchase nearly everything loose, including beans, nuts, herbs or one of five different kinds of potatoes. Great selection of fruit, berries and veg along with a number of items I usually buy in the health food store such as coconut milk yogurt, spelt bread and oat cakes. Getting it all in one place is so much easier for me. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked a few questions about some of the products on offer.
