It looks like the owner simply decided to plop down a couple of chairs and tables in the salon with no build out.

The best advice is that no one should come to this particular store as it represents the worst experience of quality of food at this franchise in 32 years. The place is brand new yet unappealing. Out of the three entrees we ordered half of them were not cooked properly. We were starving and where only able to eat half of our food. It's funny because people come here only because there's really not many other choices around the immediate area as they even had closed down the close by tacos Al carbon store in a couple of blocks down recently so patrons don't have much of a choice for a 15 to 20 block distance of restaurants. Since Yelp has started and I opened my account this particular review is my worst recommendation of all time and that says a lot based upon my followers and being a foodie myself. The best advice is to go somewhere else until these guys get the act straight. I can only imagine what their corporate headquarters in Miami would say if they visited here they would shut them down immediately. I couldn't give less than one star so that's why it even has one star.

I would not recommend this location. I ordered on the app and my order wasn't ready as promised nor had it been started. The associate handling my order clearly needed more training. She appeared confused. My order was prepared properly and the ingredients in the tropichop were plentiful. It even looked pretty! On the downside, the chicken was dry as a bone. This is the first time I've ever encountered this issue at Pollo Tropical. Thank God I had curry mustard to drown the chicken so it would be palatable. I probably wouldn't return to this location.

I always come to this Pollo tropical the manager just told me I only get 10 croutons for a large chicken Caesar salad I can go right over here to Winn-Dixie and a whole bag cost $1.89 she gave me so I asked for another extracroutons she charge me a dollar and gave me 10 more croutons this is the most pathetic thing I've ever encountered at any restaurant the manager at this location today June 17 2024 8:45 PM i'm here at least once a day five days a week andover 10 croutons this lady manager here just lost a real good customer

This is supposed to be a chicken wing.

Of all the Pollo Tropical locations I have been to in Palm Beach County, this one needs the most help. It takes a lot for me to go out of my way to write something negative about a restaurant. I've had inconveniences at this place over the years, but it was never enough to really bother me. I ordered the wings as it was my favorite item from them back when they had it years ago. I was sad when the removed it. Getting to the point - I thought these were supposed to be fresh? I felt deflated after I saw the person take the wings out of the assembly line container that you see at a fast food burger place. How long were they sitting there? Yeah, I should have said something there. It was a to-go order. I also should have checked them on the spot. Shame on me that I didn't. I opened them up in my car and what I got looked old, stale, and burnt. It was the lunch rush hour. The line was near the door and it had already taken me a long time to get my order. I was so hungry I didn't have the energy to go back. YOLO. They were awful. You'll notice in the pictures I did eat four of five wings. If old and burnt chicken wings is your thing, order them from here. The fifth wing had no meat at all. The outside was cripsy and had a burnt shell of some sort. I poked it with my finger and it broke. Not edible at all. I filled out the complaint form on their website as well. I still like Pollo Tropical as a whole, but just not this location.

I tend to eat at this pollo but the avocados I got today just made me sick to my stomach!!! Why would you put black rotting avocado that smell in someone's food!?!?

Everything on this taco worked so well together. The pickled red onion helps cut through the richness of the guac and fattiness of the batter on the fish. The pineapple is a burst of freshness and sweetness that live a up the whole thing while also balancing sharpness from the onion. If you can here hungry, you're probably putting away 4 tacos. If you are a normal functioning human and don't eat like it's your last meal, 2-3 will probably be good. So you're looking at $14-$28 on food. For me, on an empty stomach, this would be pushing $30 for tacos which IMO is a bit steep (and let's be honest, if I'm that hungry I might make a bad decision and get more than 4). That said, it was really good. I wish they had some combo options though 3 for $16, 4 for $20 etc.

It was ground lamb with onion, mint, and cilantro. I got their grilled shrimp. It also had shredded cabbage, , guacamole, and cilantro. I chose to have the chipotle aioli on the side. I really liked my taco. To share, we went with the birria. This was very tender shredded beef, cheese, onion, and cilantro. It was a bit messy and drippy, but very good. I never even needed to dip it in the side "sauce" that it came with. The side was esquite salad. A pasta salad with corn and other veggies like small pieces of green and red peppers. There was more pasta than anything else. This was just okay. They had a number of Mexican sodas to drinks in various flavors, agua fresca, and horchata. They had a bar there also on the side of the room with "adult" beverages, but it didn't open until the evening. My favorite of the things we had? My shrimp taco. Prices were fairly reasonable. And food came out pretty fast considering that they were very busy.

In fact, I'd never had a pupusa when some time back I read another review from Melodie and decided to try them. We found a Pompano Beach restaurant near our other residence that we frequent with Salvadorean food and have now visited often. When we came in, I guess they could tell we were "gringos", so they switched servers to one with better English. But we usually can get by with our school Spanish okay. Most people dining here were Spanish speaking, but you should be comfortable if you don't know the language. My husband decided to have a pupusa with beef and cheese along with a salad. The salad came out first. It was a plate of lettuce with tomatoes and cucumbers and some ranch dressing. His pupusa came with coleslaw. And they put a container of thin red sauce on the table for us to share. He said he thought the pupusa was good. He also got a passion fruit drink, medium size, to have with his meal. I had to try the "squash flower" one (per Melodie's review) so I ordered the loroco pupusa. I looked this up to see what these flower buds looked like. As mentioned online, this unique green vegetable was a bit crunchy and reminded me of a broccoli stalk or asparagus spear. But it is unique to El Salvador and used in Salvadorean cooking in many different ways. There was more cheese than loroco in the pupusa. It was fine. I'm glad I tried it. But I also ordered a "mixed" pupusa (revueltas) of pork, beans, and cheese and this one was the better tasting of the two, I thought. Of course, I put the slaw on top of the pupusa and sauce on top of that (as I'd learned from Melodie) and that really makes the whole experience in one delicious bite. I didn't realize how large the pupusas would be, so I'd also ordered a coctail de camarones. Not to be confused with an American shrimp cocktail, I'd had these when they've been made like shrimp ceviche or like the one I had here. The cooked shrimp was mixed in a remoulade dressing (mayo based) and topped with pico de gallo and avocado pieces. It was very good. It was served in a sundae glass. And came with a package of crackers, as well. Now that we've come here to try their pupusas, I'd also like to try one of their signature soups and other meal specials. Prices are quite reasonable. Please note: This isn't fast food as everything is cooked to order, so just be prepared if you're really hungry for a short wait.
