Much better experience here than I had at the other one. I wanted to try the guava cheesecake and it was pretty good. You can tell there's a bit of a manufactured taste (i.e. it's not homemade) but it's not bad. The food was decent. For some reason, I find their menu to be a bit confusing, but maybe it's just me. All in all, pretty decent food - but expect to pay a bit more for it as well. read more

If I could give a zero, I would! There was an older lady in the kitchen yelling at anybody and seems like everyone who was patiently waiting for their food. Used tongs to open drawers and then used to pick up food. Also, the 30 mins there after food was supposed to be ready, many orders passed by me and immediately can back as wrong. Order was - kids meal bowl with cheese chicken and white rice, no beans, came with beans despite confirming multiple times no beans Tropichop with chicken rice cheese and corn, had no cheese which is 25% of the ingredients. Tropical trio - not even in the bag Side of mashed potatoes - also not in the bag. Which means the percentage of correct items in the bag was 0% with 50% of items missing altogether. Also asked for extra sauce and was told at window that they had "put like four of those in the bag" opened the bag there were two, both the lids came off and spilled all inside. I ordered the mojo pork with white rice, corn, and beans. They left my corn out which a side costs like $3-4 so I'm blowed about that . They also didn't put the correct number of sauces In the bag. If you know- that cilantro garlic sauce they have is NOTHING to play about but they played lol. As far as the food, the rice was a bit mushy. Had I ordered a slice of lime, maybe that would put a little kick into the pork but the food wasn't bad. I still ate everything. For these reasons above, I give it a 3 star read more

I have ordered numerous times for work and every single time it is wrong and items are missing. This time, only part of the order was delivered and the driver had to go back and get the rest. Which means the first delivery was cold by the time everyone could eat and when the second delivery finally made it, 30 minutes later, it was ice cold as well. Three meals were missing from the second order and missing the drinks from the combo meals. Ordered and paid for avocado on the trop bowl, wasn't there. So disappointing. This will be the last time that I order for our luncheons from Pollo Tropical. It does not help that when you call the local phone number, it goes to the corporate office in Miami. Seriously, how screwed up does a place have to be to earn a two star rating after over 100 reviews? Well, Pollo Tropical has answered the question: VERY SCREWED UP. We walk in for lunch, nobody is at the counter. There is a kid cleaning tables, people making food in the back, a "manager" looking lady walking around and we are not acknowledged at all for five full minutes. I wish we had walked out. Finally, the kid who was cleaning tables comes to take our order and the first thing I ask for, they are out of. The second thing I ask for, they are out of. I end up ordering grilled chicken with a side of rice and beans. My wife orders a bowl after trying to order a chicken sandwich, but is told they are out of bread (we saw bags and bags of rolls in the back...whatever.). We go to sit down and have to search pretty hard to find a clean table in an otherwise empty restaurant- I'm not sure which table the kid cleaned, but all of them were dirty. We cleaned one ourselves and sat down. The food came about 10 minutes later. Mine looks okay, but my wife who had specifically requested no beans, has beans in hers and no corn as she asked for. She takes it back and finds out they're out of corn (!!!) so she eats a bowl of chicken and rice. My food was cold when it arrived, but I didn't care, I just ate it. The chicken was super dry and overcooked. The rice (yellow rice w/ veggies) was actually good even though it was cold. Hilariously, the cup of beans was literally all juice and two beans. Two. Seriously. At this point I just laughed. My wife said her white rice was "mush" and she just ate the pieces of fried chicken out of it. So let's see: Bad service, bad food, and a dirty restaurant that is out of way too many items. Now THAT is how you earn those bad reviews. This is dangerously close to my house. I don't know how I slept on it for so long. For the past month I've gone at least once a week! Everything on their menu is solid. It's just a great choice and there really isn't anything like it on the market (Chipotle is not the same). This has a Caribbean flair to it and I love the variety on the menu. My go-to dish is the Caesar Salad and I devour it with no guilt! It has a decent amount of caesar dressing without drowning the romaine. It has a generous portion of grilled chicken giving it the heaviness I need in a salad. My husband loves the crispy chicken cuban sandwich. It's a neat spin on the cuban - and he gets a bit of crunch from the fried chicken patty. My favorite side is the tostones. C'mon, a fast food place that serves tostones? Get a few sauces to dip them in and you got yourself the perfect side. The only caveat to this place is that there can be a wait. Not sure if everything is made fresh (hopefully, right?), but this is a place I don't mind waiting a few minutes for. read more

Never saw this chain before. First visit for lunch today. Had the grilled chicken Cuban sandwich. it was large and delicious! The meat had great flavor, the cheese and pickles really added to the sandwich. Made me want more. None in Michigan so I will have to see about trying this again on my vacation. Ate inside. The last 3 times I've come to this location, there have been issues with my order. They still do not have the lobby open almost 2 years now and never have enough staff to handle the drive through. OMG. Fast food is supposed to be fast is it not??? By far one of the slooooowest fast food places I've ever been to. Earlier this week I was really craving their quesadilla wrap and a mango iced tea. I hadn't had one in a long time and I'm unsure why I wanted one that day but alas, I did. I got there at 12PM and waited in the drive thru line (at first) because I was just going to grab my food and eat back at the office. When 15 minutes rolled around and none of the cars in line had moved, I maneuvered my way out and decided to go inside instead. It was relatively busy, but became more so after I had already ordered. By the time I ordered, it was 12:20PM. I then proceeded to wait 25 minutes for my food. By the time my order number had been called, there were approximately 10-12 people also standing around waiting for their food. In order for me to get back to the office in time as my lunch break was now at the end, I had to shovel my food in my mouth and rush out the door. The tables, floors, and sauce bar were dirty. I used my jacket sleeve to grab a hold of the handle for the ketchup because I was afraid to touch it. Really not how I wanted to spend my lunch break. I'll definitely avoid next time, even when the cravings kick in. read more

Thia was an excellent last minute option. We were having an evening meeting and no one wanted pizza. Pollo Tropical's online ordering allowed us to easily submit and pay for our order. As a result, we simply picked up our order in the drive-thru at the specified time. They even provided paper goods. The food was excellent and affordable. The chicken was very moist and tasty. The beans and rice were well-prepared. A favorite among everyone was the balsalmic tomatoes. This meal was actually cheaper than the pizza we usually purchase and taste much better. I was super excited to try out the ribs. No line in the drive thur for lunch time I'm like my lucky day !!! I ordered and was shocked at the price 31 bucks for half slab of ribs. And side salad, corn bread and a coke. I paid and went on my way. I work about 10 mins from the location. I get to office I was super excited but when I opened it as Chicken. Awesome Caribbean flavorful chicken with rice and beans. The food was hot and well packaged in individual containers. Plenty of sauces and utensils too. The rotisserie chicken skin was full of crispy taste and the meat was juicy too. The black beans were excellent as were the sweet plantains. Loved it!! Best part was the ability to order and get it home while the food was still hot. All for under $20.00. What I thought was going to be a peaceful evening enjoying pollo tropical was anything but. I was watching the manager throughout my stay and his behavior was absolutely revolting. He touched the food without wearing gloves and the overall sanitation of the restaurant is very poor. The service was incredibly slow and when I asked to speak with the manager I was told he had "stepped out". Under no circumstance should service be slow and a supervisor decide his needs outside the restaurant are more important. He does not qualify as a manager let alone a crew member. read more

My daughter and I went through the drive thru and proceeded to sit there for over 15 minutes while the girl ran through 4 gift cards she was selling the customer in front of us, why wouldn't she have asked him to go inside to do that instead of tying up the drive thru. We get to the window and I asked for 3 cilantro sauces for each dinner that I ordered because that is why we go there, I can make my own rice and pork but we love the cilantro sauce. She hands me the bag which is tied and I ask are the sauces in there? She looks at me and begins taking the order of the next customer and she closes the window and ignores me. I assume they are in there but I should know better when I get home there is NO sauce in there and I feel I just wasted my money. I try calling several times and no one answers. I call the next day and again no one answers. On the 3rd day I call during lunch and someone answers so I tell them I would like to speak to the manager he says hold on and I hear him tell someone else this lady wants a manager and the two begin arguing over the guy being the manager but not wanting to take the call. The guy comes back on the phone and tells me it's lunch time can you call back later?? I tell him I am also a customer and I had an issue I want the general manager to call me back and I gave him my information. I'm still waiting and this was over a week ago. I won't go back. Got a to go order. Was there just after 5 pm on a weekday. Place was kinda dirty. I just wanted some sort of a combo meal, but the way it's done there is so confusing. My side of plantains was extra $, My " actual" side was a tiny portion in a tiny cup. 2 oz maybe??? My drink was also " extra". Really??? Got home to discover very dry chicken( I fed most to my cat. They took my debit card in the drive through and didn't return. I pulled around went inside and asked them for it. They told me they had given it to the driver (my sister) but I obviously knew they hadn't so I went back out to the car and searched some more. went on my bank app to cancel my card and there was a second charge. They charged my card for the person behind us order AND GAVE THEM MY DEBIT CARD!!! when I went back in to show them the manager said he was sorry and that they would refund me for the other persons order....no kidding Sherlock. They did absolutely NOTHING else not a gift card not refund me for my order since I have to cancel my card, order a new one and redo ALL of my auto payments. third and final time going there.
