It's okay for a fast food place. Their chicken marinated in a citrus blend is excellent when cooked just right. But sometimes it's overcooked and then mediocre. Staff is average for a fast food place. Some are courteous and quick. Others, not. It's not the Surf Club, but with the right expectations it's a good choice for a quick meal. read more

Absolutely awful. The service is unbelievably slow, like nobody has any idea what they're doing. Tables were dirty everywhere, and nobody seemed bothered to clean them. The staff looked completely inept -- confused, unorganized, and moving at half-speed while customers waited forever. This place needs serious management and a full reset. Would not recommend. read more

The service and management as this location is absolutely trash. That manager Yordelys is always talking so loud and yelling as if she's looking for attention. Her management skills need to be reviewed, there's LOTS she still needs to learn before being put as a manager. Also night shift is more dirty than day shift but the day shift is more stressful than night shift. read more

I would like to add that it took a year for this review to get looked at. I did go back eventually and the storefront isn't too much better. The parking lot is still in the same condition, the dumpsters leak fluids into the drive through lane and parking area, and they still run out of sauces frequently from what I hear. Last time I went back, they didn't have salsa, and only two cilantro mayo for an order of three meals. Thankfully, they did get the order right and didn't charge me incorrectly. I have yet to go inside as the outside does not inspire much confidence that'll it'll be any better. read more

I don't normally review chain restaurants but this was a bad meal. Preforming my weekend tasks I needed to eat and recently heard Pollo Tropical sold Covina (fish), so I stopped in for a bite. I ordered the Covina Platter with Cesar Salad and Corn with Avocado Slices. I received my order and sat for as Rakim said "plate of fish which is my favorite dish". But a good piece of Covina is still a wish, because this was Horrible! The fish was bland and looked nothing like the pictures in the restaurant. Instead of slices of avocado, I got a chunk of something that tasted as if it was grown in an empty bathtub in an abandoned lot. It was bad! Tough and not exactly flavorless but the flavor that was there, is nothing you would want on your tongue. The corn was equally bland as the fish. The Cesar Salad was the best part of the meal. The young lady who took my order was very courteous. I did say I wanted to dine in. But everything was thrown in to go containers and to go bags. The one star is for the young lady taking my order and the Cesar Salad. I'm not sure why my past couple of visits have been not good at all but I'll find another Pollo or just forgo Pollo Tropical altogether. read more

I don't know when or if the management changed but BRAVO!!!!! This location used to take FOREVER...and run out of chicken by 8pm. Something has changed for the better and I love it. I can literally survive off of Pollo Tropical without a problem. I altered between this location and the one by I-95 but as soon as I discovered the magic of curbside pickup, I found this location to be most reliable. First of all, round of applause for the solid hookup the kids meal offers. It's the perfect portion! My second favorite is the chicken caesar wrap combo. No other wrap satisfies me the way this one does. The next item I flock towards is the mojo pork tropichop with white rice. I order it before I head out and arrive just in time for the pickup time. #WinningAtLife I love the strawberry lemonade as a refreshment choice even if there's a surcharge for it. My favorite side item is either the fried yucca with the cilantro garlic sauce or the balsamic tomatoes in their full zesty nature. It's the only "fast food" that isn't really "fast food" and for that they get extra points. read more

Before you read this review, you should know that my family owns a restaurant, so I'm pretty understanding when it comes to what workers have to deal with. I've never felt compelled to write a bad review before because it's just not worth the effort. I don't even live in this state, I have no stakes in this game. And yet, the service was so terrible that I needed to share it. First things first, the food was actually really good. I would go here over El Pollo Loco every time. But HOLY SHIT, the service was terrible. We ordered around 7:30, pickup time was 7:43. We showed up a bit early and there was one party in line. We stood at the counter waiting for someone to acknowledge us; this took about 5 minutes. The manager finally came up to the register, asked us who the order was for, I answered, and she just walked off into another room without saying anything to us. We figured out that they hadn't even started on our order. 3 more customers came in during this time and had a similar experience trying to get the attention of the staff. There were about 5 workers there, no drive thru customers, and the food was clearly ready to be served. One was on her phone showing a meme to her coworker for about 5 minutes, the others (including the manager) were moving at the speed of molasses. They even blinked slowly, as if *SOMETHING* was hindering their normal brain functions. The other 4 customers and I had enough time to start complaining about the service to each other while we were all standing in front of the counter and I'm sure the employees heard us. One of us even pointed at her order that was ready to go in the bag and it took them 3 minutes to give it to her. When we finally got our order, I felt the need to check the bag to see if everything was there. Thankfully, it was. We tried to leave the way we came in and they had locked the door, so we had to use another exit. As we were leaving, the manager gave me a look with dead eyes as if she was annoyed for having served us. We got our food at around 8:05. I only have timestamps because we spent the time texting our friend that was waiting in the car outside about the awful service. read more

I love Pollo. My go to for fake healthy, fast food. Went inside and thought it was a better idea to take some food home instead of the drive through. A young man took my order and I thought all was fine...Quarter Dark with rice and beans. Got home and low and behold...Quarter White. I'm guessing he wasn't paying attention when the order was placed or decided to not confirm the order or maybe he was day dreaming of leaving his job early... In any event...just very frustrating when low level employees can't get their job done right...now I guess I need to go through every box before leaving the counter next time...Had the same similar experience at Smoothie King right before I came here. I'm writing this as I currently stand in the line to order my food. This place is yummy and affordable but definitely not convenient AT ALL if you are coming for a quick lunch break. I was in a line for more than 20 minutes! Then to find out that there is only 1 cash register taking orders when there's a line of 15+ people! Don't understand the point of having 3 registers and only one person taking orders.... Even the girl taking down the orders would stop and go prepare food at times! As far as the food i ordered, it was pretty good. I tried the new churrasco bowl and didn't disappoint. Although it came without the chimichurri sauce at first. When I asked one of the employees she said that they didn't have that sauce luckily I guess the a manager heard me and went to go grab one for me. read more

Slowest service on earth, I think that the chicken is always so dried out because of the slowness of the staff. Really, if the food tastes good you are lucky but just as often it doesn't. I go there regularly for my mother in law but every time I waste easily 20 minutes of my time standing in line no matter weather I go inside or take the drive thru. What a rip off. When you order a quarter-chicken meal, you expect a quarter chicken of the full size variety. Not baby chickens, or in this case a serving about the size of a quarter of a crow. If I could give zero stars I would. In town visiting and been this location 3 times only because it's the nearest to where I'm staying and every-time it gets worse and worse. This 3rd time is the last visit. 1st time, my husband and I walked in, only customers in line and waited 7 minutes while 5 workers were behind the counter completely ignored us and never acknowledged us. So we left to go to another location in Miami who did not honor curbside as we waited several minutes in the car. 2nd time i visit this location, I tried the curbside order option because I didn't want a repeat of the last visit and after several minutes and calling the number on the app and email confirmation and no one picking up. I went inside to pick up my order and it took over 30 minutes just to get it. So now I see the whole entire chain doesn't honor the curbside option because my order was sitting on the back counter from the moment I walked in and no one even attempted to bring out. 3rd time I did the curbside option again and went through the driver thru and this UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED, SAD EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS AND ABSOLUTE NO REAL ADEQUATE TRAINING FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE OF A COMPANY HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME MY ORDER THROUGH THE DRIVER THRU - IN ADDITION TO THAT THEY ACTUALLY ADMITTED THEY DON'T HONOR CURBSIDE EITHER!!!!!! WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE THAT OPTION?????? THEY HAD THE NERVE TO SAY I HAD TO COME INSIDE AFTER WAITING 20 MINUTES IN THE DRIVE THRU. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I TRULY HOPE THEY SHUT DOWN LIKE THEY DID IN GEORGIA! THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!! By the way after going inside this last time I noticed how filthy the place is, mold on the ceiling, flies. I really used to love pollo .... I used to love it with all my heart. Now, it's a disappointment every time. Wanted to try the new avocado tropichop and it was not only misleading but had absolutely no flavor. The rice was hard, the chicken was dry - I think that's avocado on there? How upsetting. I understand not everything is going to look like the advertisement but cmon .... This is what you proudly serve your guest? What a waste of money, time and energy. The ONLY reason this gets two stars is for the Cashier Jenny at the drive through, she was nice, attentive and pleasant. Unfortunately the food was garbage. Pollo tropical used to be a quick and yummy alternative rather than driving through McDonalds but now they've become such a "fast paced" - cook everything as fast as you can and get them in and out as fast as you can. I'm not saying that's really how it is, I'm just guessing based off the quality the past few years. I go back hoping one day they'll win my heart back .......... Todays just not the day :( read more

This is the Trio Chicken, Mojo Roast Pork, Ribs and I waited for half an hour at the drive thru to get this. Why is there only one rib instead of two or three? Also, there were no sauces at the drive thru and the lady at the window named Rachel told me that I have to go inside if I want sauces. If I knew I would still have to go inside, I would've skipped the half an hour wait time at the drive thru. Another thing, if I didn't check my food, I wouldn't know that my order was not complete. This place is a hit or miss. I have to say I have a love/hate relationship with them. I started working right next door over a year ago and the first two times I came here it was very disappointing. I told myself I would never come back. Being the foodie that I am, I cant just shut a place down without trying it multiple times. So A few months down the road I decided I would give a go again and I must say I was surprised. The meal was actually tasty. The first two time I had gone, the chicken was overcooked and the mojo pork had no flavor. This time around, the chicken was juicy and full of flavor. The rice and black beans almost reminded me of home (Cuba) since then I have gone a few times. The upside is it's quick and easy to order and pick up your food. Word of advise, if you plan on coming here, don't come with your expectations to high. Decent food for the price but that's all you get. read more

This place can be really busy. It depends on the time of day of course so you can expect when it's dinner time on say a Friday? Ya, the drive through can be as busy as Biscayne. We pulled in from 16th avenue having to wait for all the cars exiting as well as the drive through line to break a bit so we could get through to the parking lot. I ended up ordering a whole chicken (11 dollars), 2 orders of half racks of ribs (5.50 x 2), 2 orders of large rice and beans and a large order of plantains for take out. The whole chicken is a whole chicken, quartered into dark and white meat quarters. The extra orders of ribs were both side ribs which are fattier than back ribs but were a decent size. One of the 1/2 racks was the soft floating bone half and the other half was the boned half of the ribs. The chicken, ribs and all the sides are as I remember. It's not the best food but it's decent for the money. There's a condiment bar that has a variety of sauces and other sides that you can help yourself to as well as pack up and cover to take out with you as well. read more
