Good lord for a place that specializes in chicken dishes (it's in the name !) I've been twice in a matter of months and both times they've been out of chicken. Compile that with the early closing hours and it's just not worth the stop. Plenty of other places in the area to get same type food where you're not wasting your time to stop in for nothing. read more

I walking to this restaurant. The customers is really nice but food smell like a toilet inside. And taste not acceptable. I walked all the way to the library and gross. The taco is also horrible. First off the employee did not honor the yelp "20% off for checking in" offer. Which was a little offputting, but anyways i went ahead and ordered #1, which is the whole chicken with small corn tortillas and salsa. In my opinion the food was just ok. Nothing special. But i have to admit i was impressed how fast they were in getting my food. I barely sat down for 30 secs before she brought out the food. I'm personally a fan of grilled chicken but this was just ok, nothing special. So i wont be coming back here again, as its not to my taste. read more

Ordered the number one, a whole pollo asado. Cost $13. I assumed this came with sides, but my assumption was incorrect. Rice and beans are extra for the number one. The chicken was solid, but nothing to write home about. It definitely could have been more flavorful. The accompanying tortillas were definitely of the H-E-B variety, but the salsas were great! It would probably be beneficial if you spoke Spanish when ordering here, as the staff that I dealt with did not even attempt to speak to me in English at all....But, as always, your mileage may vary. I could see going back here on occasion, because it is so close to where I work although I would really prefer to find another place that makes more flavorful meat... and maybe homemade tortillas to go with. read more

So glad that I have found El Regio restaurant that close to my home currently.. I used to go to the one in FM 1960. Restaurant atmosphere is very good, they have a lot of tables to accommodate dine-in. Their chicken taste the same with the other El Regio and I am looking forward to get those chickens in the future. Very recommended place! read more

My house is behind this place and let me tell ya the smell is soooo mouth watering. The food, thankfully matches. I get the baked potato because it's massive and comes stuffed with cheese, sour scream, fajita meat & cilantro. They also throw in a jalapeño pepper and spicy carrots. It's always hot and beyond filling. I have to split it up into two meals. I also get the hot corn tortillas and a side of rice and beans. The rice is very simple vet flavorful and the beans are great with a slight spicy kick. They also have the roasted chicken but I have never been to impressed with it as it's more on tdry almost every time I order it. read more

I'd come back for the grilled chicken. The salsa is a bit hot still it all goes well with just plain rice. It is never a full meal without rice because I'm a Filipino. This reminds me of Andok's back home but this suits my taste better - smokier closer to inihaw na liempo lol. You can dip this in soy, kalamansi or lime and siling labuyo. We are from Portland, OR and we were visiting family in TX when we stopped in here. We just happened to see it while stopping in at the liquor store next door. I love eating chicken like this and we can't find it like this in Oregon. Decided to grab a #1 Whole chicken to-go. As I was signing the credit card slip, they were handing me my bag of food. Talk about "fast food". It took us almost 20 min to get a burger for my sis at Whataburger. The #1 is a whole chicken broken up with tortillas and salsa. I added a small order of rice and beans as well. This could be somewhat compated to El Pollo Loco, although I'm sure someone in that restaurant would knife me for saying that. But the concept is the same. Make your own tacos from a fresh roasted chicken. When we arrived back at the house we opened up the beautiful bag of chicken and the whole thing was gone in 20min. Our family was weary of the place and didn't think they would eat it... shoulda ordered 2 chickens. Silly family never trusts me when it comes to food. This was posted as on ad on my Yelp search list. Asked the hubby if he wanted to try it and of course he did! The place is in a small shopping center. It was clean inside and the staff were nice. We did get some looks, guess because we appeared very "white" or my husband can pull of being a part of really any kind ethnic group, especially Caucasian Hispanic. He should of been a CIA agent! I don't know and don't care. We were there to eat yummy food and support a small business. We don't speak Spanish, but they knew English enough for us to order. Thank you ladies! Wish I could give it zero stars. First off walk in and hear what I assume a couple arguing over a perfume how the girl wants it but the man bought it for his girlfriend. She kept hounding the man. Placed my order and usually the place is alright. Got my food the meat was dry the chicken taste old like it was sitting out for a while also dry. The rice tasted horrible. First off the service is sketch, I have actually been here a few times only bc I am obsessed with the overly loaded potatoe, this is amazing and a def must try!! It is a baked potato stuffed with sour cream, cheddar cheese, chives, AND SOOO MUCH MEAT! I get the carne asada (fajita meat). This potato is huge guys, I always have leftovers, its basically two meals. I also love adding the spicy green salsa that you sometimes have to ask for because they dont always bring it out with your grub. Another great item is the chicken tostada, it is basically two large tostadas (fried and dried tortillas) with guacamole, sour cream, and shredded super moist chicken. Also add the green spicy salsa and it is soooo good. Me and my mom went here today and ordered the potato, tostada, a water bottle, and a limonada the total was $20.
