She talked me through every step including the part of when it would hurt to wax my chin. Due to sensitive skin, she had to use this tool on me that looks like an electronic shocker. I was terrified. She assured me it wouldn't hurt and it was necessary to avoid getting bumps on my sensitive skin which would not be good for the wedding. It worked. She dyed my eyebrows and removed my chin hairs. I did not get any bumps because of the "caddle prod" thing she used and all of the oils. I really appreciated her time to ease my concerns and listen to them. I sat there for nearly 40 minutes hoping someone would notice what was happening and step in to help, but no one did. Thankfully, I was finally able to get Amanda's attention myself, and she kindly removed some of the polish so I could at least leave without it looking worse. After spending almost 1 hour and 45 minutes in the salon, I left with ruined nails and never even received the pedicure I had booked. The attached photo shows the condition of my nails when I left the salon -- damaged, over-filed, uneven, and completely unacceptable. What makes this even more upsetting is that my three daughters and I have been loyal customers since Bijou Nail Bar first opened. I've always supported this business, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I also requested that the owner call me directly regarding what happened, and I still haven't heard a peep. Had someone simply been honest that the salon was short staffed or that the employee was still training, I would have appreciated the transparency and gone elsewhere.
