The place is organized and chock FULL of pottery. Wide selection. Hand decoration seemed well down and good quality. But absolutely nothing is priced - and the small item we purchased was surprisingly expensive (in our pedestrian eyes). Perhaps part of this is due to our President's weaponizing of tariffs - up, down, on, off at his whim. For the price we paid it would have been nice if they had dressed up our hostess gift purchase with some more tissue paper and a small bow of ribbon. Oh well... read more

This was such a neat place to walk into on a whim! All of the pottery is imported from Poland, and the selection is HUGE, from bowls and mugs to decor and knick knacks. My grandfather was from Poland, so being able to get some authentic pieces was special to me. The folks working in the store were lovely, and one million stars for the CUTEST SHOP DOG who kindly greeted me and followed me around to give kisses and get rubs. You'll want a piece. Maybe two. Five's even better! I've seen this pottery offered through an online shopping network for a few years. Hosts would rave . . . customers would call in and rave. Even though I never saw a piece in real life, there was an alluring charm to this distinctly recognizable style that's offered in several unique, but complimentary with each other, patterns. Located in Williamsburg Square, I visited this shop today. After seeing the real thing with my own eyes---it is so much prettier than a TV or computer screen can lead one to imagine. I'm not at all surprised that this charming Polish ware is a favorite collectible. With all pieces easily available to pick up and closely admire, they're showcased on dining tables, other wood furniture, and open display cases. Additionally, scores of this delightful pottery are stacked by pattern and style on deep shelving along a wall, and on free-standing etageres. With plates and bowls in many sizes, drinking cups, vases . . . I can see these pieces fitting very well into so many different interior styles---country, traditional, cottage, shabby-chic, even sleek ultra-modern and industrial. There's a clear "artistic" quality to this colorful, small-patterned, smoothly-glazed pottery---whether any piece is placed on a weathered oak table top, or one of their larger deep bowls on a stainless steel coffee table. I didn't know anything about this shop. It was at Gifts Unlimited that I saw a little adorable bowl filled with complimentary candies on their counter. A small card inside said it was "Polish Ware"---ah!...the one from TV---and welcomed visitors to their shop next door. If not for that little bowl, I'd never know about this "find". And it is. Pretty, unique, and affordable---around $20-25.00 and up. This is definitely added to my "Shops for Gifts" list. After browsing just a couple of minutes in their modestly-sized well-lit showroom, a woman suddenly appears, apologizing for not hearing me enter. "So pretty." I told her. She smiled. "You make them all back there, right?" I pointed to the rear of the store. "Oh, no! They're all made in Poland." I smiled. She giggled. Will probably return for a gorgeous bowl that I don't really need, but keep picturing on my kitchen counter. I told this friendly, very helpful woman that it would be perfect with fruit inside. Her head quickly turned to look at me. She said it was a mixing bowl...that I have to use it for mixing. "Someone wanted a piece for displaying." she said. "I told her that if she wasn't going to use it for baking, I couldn't sell it to her." We both laughed. Some discontinued patterns have been discounted. Other regular-priced may be as much as 20% off. A cute little shop filled and stacked to ceiling with charm---and staffed by it, too. read more

The pottery is nice, but is very pricey. I knew this going in. But no one acknowledges you when you enter the store. No one acknowledges you as you browse, even if you make a bit of obvious noise. We could hear two or three employees in the back, yacking it up. Nothing is priced. When an employee did finally come out to help, they explained that since they were primarily a wholesaler, I would have to bring anything I was interested in up to be scanned for a price check. As a wholesale and retail business person myself, any product that I have available to the general public is priced. One of my pet peeves is shopping and not being able to tell what an item costs. This is especially true for higher ticket items. I can afford Polish Pottery, but frankly, I think some items are way overpriced. And I don't want to waste their time or mine, dragging 30 items to the register, just to find the one item that fits both my taste and my idea of a fair price. They have a storefront in a strip mall, with a portion of the establishment set up as a retail outlet. Those items in that part of the store should be priced. After indicating that I was not interested in dragging any potential purchase items up to the register for a price check, stating that I could purchase elsewhere, knowing the price, I was treated very rudely. Her response to me was basically, "good riddance", her words, "they only sold to select customers", indicating that I was not included in that group. Her loss. I was on vacation, had saved some money specifically to spend in her store. I will always go elsewhere going forward. read more

The lady at the counter was very sweet and helpful! The pottery is beautiful! I only wish they would price their items. I felt like a pest taking so many things up to get prices and then couldn't remember them. I probably would have bought a ton more if I was aware of the price. read more

The quality of the merchandise was not the issue. Nor was the price. My wife went to their Medina store to get a wedding gift for a relative who had registered at the Westlake location. After standing in the store for far too long someone finally offered to help. My wife explained why she was there and the man told her they had no way to know what her relative had registered for. Really? Well, could you call the other store and find out what they registered? No she was told. Why not? Oh they're much too busy. Well how do you know that? Oh they're busy. Keep in mind my wife drove from Akron to Medina to buy a gift here. After expressing her displeasure at the lack service my wife went ahead and just bought a piece she liked thinking the bride could exchange it. She asked for a gift box. No we don't have any. Keep in mind this store sells fine pottery. You don't have gift boxes? Nope. Do you have any boxes? Well we could give you a freight box. Okay. Do you have any paper I could wrap it in. Nope. This bowl was $100. Who does business this way? It's 2017. Get your bridal registry on a computer in the store. Get some gift boxes. And some wrapping paper. Act like you intend on staying in business. I owned a business for 40 years. This kind of attitude would have had me hanging a "Going Out of Business Sign" in the first year. read more

My parents reside at a local assisted living residence in the community. Each Friday, they take a group on "field trips" and scheduled a visit to Polish Pottery. I was told during a recent visit that my parents were redirected to another venue because the residents use canes, walkers, and wheelchairs and Polish Pottery didn't want the liability (in so many words). They did NOT do their research to find out that this group consists of all able and walking people, needing no assistance walking. I'm disgusted by the #discrimination towards the elderly. Not only did you lose a (Polish) customer, I intend on telling EVERY SINGLE PERSON I CAN! Have a little #respect and #compassion for your elders! read more
