We just fell in love with the lovely old building, pretty rooms, snug bar and outstanding restaurant. We have had the best time, best company, best fun, best food and service plus we get to stay over and have a slap-up breakfast. I think this may become our bolt hole on a regular basis. If you're a foodie like us, the 5-course tasting menu is a must and the reasonably priced wine flight is a no-brainer. The Moonraker is a superb example of a quintessentially English hotel, run with love and a passion for great food and seasonal ingredients. A must visit!

The room we stayed in was very light, roomy and had views over the front garden. The bed was big very comfortable and the bed linen of good quality. The bathroom was large and had a good range of complimentary toiletries. Soft towels together too. The staff were very attentive and thoughtful. The restaurant was good and offered a 3 course set menu at a very reasonable price. It was our first time staying there and we extended our stay by 3 days because it was so comfortable. .. We stayed in a superior room, which was in the annexe of the hotel, which I assume used to be a stable block, the room was clean and welcoming, but they do not provide anything about the surrounding area in the room, you have to ask for it at reception, which is a bit of a shame. The food there is excellent and the staff were all very friendly, would I stay here again? Possibly - but would look elsewhere as well

I had a twice baked goats cheese soufle, stuffer gnocchi & portobello mushroom in a gorgonzola cheese & the lemon torte. Soooo yummyb:) The grounds are spectaculiar!! And it is so cute with ducks & chockens roaming the veggie gardens. They have plenty of activities for the kids. I had a deep tissue massage it was pretty average & overpriced. All in all it was a great stay!

My brother has a spa membership and took me here as his guest, whilst he dropped his kids (my nephews an niece) off at the creche. We went for a coffee in one of the many sitting rooms of this old stately home and also made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The spa supplies nice towels, shampoo and shower gel. The pool is small and there are not many sauna options but the setting is really pleasant. Whilst lying in the pool you can look out at the traditional Victorian garden and enjoy the natural light. The indoor sitting areas are very cosy. I had a coffee with soya milk, which came with two homemade shortbread; nice touch. Seems like a nice place to chill be it for a holiday or just for the spa and restaurant/tea room.
Widbrook Grange Hotel
Widbrook is just lovely. I felt like I was staying in a house from a Jane Austen novel. =)…read more I'm in love with this place. If I had to imagine a bed and breakfast in the English country side, this would be it. The hotel is organized with a main house (living room, check in, dining room) and separate living quarters surrounding the house. My cousin booked two rooms for us and we had the entire second floor to a English country house all to ourselves. The name was really cute too. I think our rooms were called Chaucer and Shakespeare? Rooms were spacious. We had a comfortable bed, big bathroom. Tub and shower. We had free tea and coffee in the room and a small tv (w/ cable). The windows opened out (no screen) and we had a view of the green landscape surrounding the property. The room was also very well heated. Which was good, as the nights were quite chilly in September. We dined twice in the main house. Once for dinner and also for breakfast. Dinner was really good! Breakfast was good too. We could order a full English breakfast off the menu. And we also had unlimited fruit, cereal, breads and jams (LOVED fresh jam). I remember having smoked salmon w/ eggs, English toy soldiers, sausage and hot tea. So stuffed! The gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful. Take a bit out of your day to stroll around. We found fruit trees, berry bushes and wild flowers. Very picturesque. Widbrook also has a heated pool. So take the opportunity to relax and take a dip! Parking is available on-site for your car. Very beautiful English bed and breakfast in the countryside. My stay was wonderful. =)

They have a really good vibe going for them, making it enjoyable to chat with your company. I recommend getting the full English breakfast. I recall it being around £7, give or take. Don't forget to get berries on top with that. The verdict: stop by here for an awesome meal. The coffee here is awesome and the food is even better.

We arrived sweaty and breathless. We talked to the bartender for a little about the beer and asked about the local brews. Very knowledgeable about the local breweries! Eventually we scavenged enough coins to cover it, but I think we would have been good even if we didn't have it covered. Much nicer than our hometown of Chicago! Come here when in Bradford-on-Avon!!!

Although the hotel is set out of the way it is ideal for people looking for a quite break from city life. When I was here the vast majority of people visiting very probably 50 plus. You are offered a full buffet and there is so much food you just can't possibly full up.
