Incredibly fast, reliable and reasonably priced. This the third time I've called them over the years. So glad to have Jim in our community!

First off: this is not a towing service. There is no "yard" - it's this man's home, and besides being clearly incompetent and unprofessional, he has the nerve to charge $175 for a tow then makes it impossible to get your car (does not accept credit cards; kept trying to force me to pay cash else he said I had to wait until he called me to say when he could meet me at his house). This is what trash, garbage considers customer service. There is no way to pick up your car because there's zero office. This is what the Morrisville PD uses for towing services?!? Bet this clod is related to someone in the Department: his tactics are literally criminal. Holding my car hostage for cash! Reporting him today to the State AG CAP... this lousy outfit deserves negative stars. read more

the owner has not brought my vehicle to requested garage for insurance adjuster. He has determined on his own that my rig is totaled and it is sitting at his place while he collects storage fees on it. This is day 5... I have a call in to local police. read more

A Polar Bear flatbed tow truck just barreled down my private dead-end road, blatantly ignoring several signs - one in the middle of the road stating "No Vehicles Beyond This Point". At the height of mud season our dirt road is severely damaged, and an oversized tow truck traveling at speed entirely uncalled for just made it worse. When I called expecting to speak to their office the driver of the truck answered and claimed he looking for a van and was given directions to our road. When I asked what road he was looking for, as he clearly was lost, he hung up on me. Thanks for the road damage Polar Bear Towing. You can be certain I will spread the word that you are rude, unprofessional, and have no regard for private property. If the van was there, as you claimed, why didn't you pick it up???? read more

thanks for ghosting me in the middle of a snow storm. if you don't want to come just say so. don't say you'll be by as soon as you finish your other call, and then never show up or return calls. absolutely ridiculous service. this is exactly what you don't want. if you need a tow in the Stowe area I would recommend Bee There Towing. they do what they say they will. read more

I got stranded in northern Vermont (150 miles from home) because my windshield wipers stopped functioning during a rain storm. My auto club contacted Polar Bear towing, and he agreed to take me all the way home. He was very courteous and provided entertaining conversation on the 2.5 hour drive back. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone who needs towing up there. Great service! read more

Wow we call this guy our hero. He rescued us from Stowe mountain and delivered our car to a great shop and delivered us to our B and B. He was fast friendly and not expensive. All around great!!! read more

I didn't catch the guy's name, but his service was outstanding!!! I caught a flat and called Polar Bear. On a Saturday night after 6pm, I didn't expect to get anyone. He said he'd make it to me in 30 mins and it took less time than that. He swapped my tire in 5 mins!!! I'd definitely use his services again and I don't have a problem referring him to everyone I know in the area. read more

Great and experienced service! My car got stuck in snow and the guy came right after I called. Resolved the issue in less than 15 minutes.

My 75yr old father drove his plow truck off the side of his driveway in Eden, VT and became stuck. He called polar bear at noon and was told they had to go to Burlington and would be out to him right after. At 630pm I called and left my dad's number on the pager. Not a word from polar bear. At 2pm the next afternoon I used my phone after my dad's continued to go to their pager. Amazingly it was answered. The man I spoke to told me he had called my dad and left voicemail which is a lie as no voicemail is there. He goes on to say he simply "got too busy" to come. So as annoyed as I was I asked when he would be out today and was told how he had to go to stowe and so on and after much hemming and hawing I finally ask what the problem was and then he tells me he doesn't come to Eden. Really? Why didn't he just say that when my dad first called him? Instead we wasted a whole day waiting for him while he was too busy to keep a commitment he had made. Very unprofessional! We gave our business to a smaller company not the one polar bear suggested (we used Miller's in Waterville) and our truck was out in less than an hour. That is how you run a business. I'm sure this won't hurt polar bear but if you don't live in stowe I would suggest using someone else as polar bear towing seems to like to stay close to the money. read more

I cannot say enough about Jim and Polar Bear Towing. Twice in a month, he has been there to save the day. Once, he pulled my car out of a snow bank, and the second time, he towed my daughter's car from Mac's in Stowe to our house. Both times, he was incredibly professional and kind. Cost is very reasonable, and Jim provides prompt and outstanding service. I highly recommend Polar Bear towing. read more

Are you stuck somewhere? Are you miles from civilization? Are you sitting in your car expecting someone to come pull you out? If the answer is yes then DO NOT call these guys! They left me stuck out on a dirt road when I was driving out to a reservoir to go fishing. 3 hours after they were dispatched I was still sitting in the dark, no call, no voicemail, no word from them. I found out from their Facebook page that they didn't feel like driving out a bumpy dirt road to where I was stuck and just decided to turn around and go back with no notice to me. Both me and my insurance company (who was the company that dispatched them) pages them numerous times to call me and they did not. If you try calling them you get no answer, you just get a system that says "input your phone number and we will return your call immediately". Lies!! Not one call back, not one voicemail (if they were trying to call when I was having spotty service). No, instead they literally just decided to leave someone stranded because they didn't wanna drive on a bumpy road. My girlfriend had to drive an hour from my home to come get me at midnight thanks to these guys and my vehicle is still stuck out there. Apparently a little hatchback is more capable of navigating a dirt road than their truck. Unprofessional, lazy and horrible at communication. Call someone else and save yourself the hours of sitting around for nobody to show up! read more

My husband was in a car accident and the police called Polar Bear Towing even though he was insisting on using our own AAA coverage. We have been unable to reach Polar Bear Towing to have our car towed from the lot by AAA, even though we paid all related fees for the tow we never asked for. My husband and I have been calling Polar Bear Towing all day today and yesterday, but the owner has chosen not to return our calls, and is now trying to charge us for extra fees to hold the car. We have even employed babysitters to pick up our children and care for them while we sat outside the owner's house and car lot at the time we were supposed to meet him, although he failed to show up. We are trying to resolve the issue through the police department, and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. The police department in Stowe has assured us that Polar Bear Towing and the owner in particular is not the type of person to pull anything so deceptive and can hardly believe that the owner said they are now trying to assess an extra fee. Avoid this towing company at all costs. read more
