This place is packed (as in a large line) from 11.45am to about 12.30pm - for good reason! It's fairly common to see a line out the door when you get close to MM on James Place, busy as is the majority of food businesses down JP. But don't fear! The turnover is high yes, but the wait is not long and the quality of food/service doesn't suffer for it. A pretty standard fare for a vietnamese banh mi joint, i always go for either roast pork or lemongrass chicken but they also have honey chicken or tofu. When i first started going here i baulked at their interpretation of 'extra hot chilli', but it seems they've upped their game and you can now get a decent heat kick if you so desire (and i do always desire it hot hot hot!) Plenty of tasty options for all at a great price and reasonably quick to serve...what more could one ask for?! Get on it!

After leaving Adelaide about 2 years, I still try to make their special winter drink turmeric milk at home. It's a gold, warm, sweet yet healthy drink with goji in it. And the peanut butter is still the best I've tried, maybe because they were directly pressed from real peanuts into butter in front of you. Go check it out if it still offering. And the desserts, oh their desserts, now I can only miss them in my mind--just want to have few slices right now! So creamy, smooth, yet no-burden to eat one or two. This extension of Goodies an Grains just shows how successful they are as a business. The Kitchen offers a range of lunch items (salads, sandwiches, pasties, slices & bars) and a juice bar. In fact, they cater for a lot of dietary requirements which is great to see. There are lots of gluten free, vego, vegan and paleo options. The juice menu is exactly the same as next door. But, since this is probably the most popular juice destination in the Adelaide Central Market, they keep themselves busy. The Glorious Green is what its name suggests. Packed full of refreshing green veg and fruit. This is like my pick me up or lunch sub when I am in a rush. Every time I have chugged this juice, I just get so much energy afterwards. It's earthy, not sweet. The celery in this one really stands out. So, if you are not a fan of earthy tasting green juices, order something else. Everything on the menu is great! I am sure you will find something that appeals to you.

I do enjoy Sumo Salad. This one in particular because the food court it is within seems to be the least busy out of all the others scattered around Rundle Mall. No long lines while I wait for my ruffage. The serving sizes are actually quite large and filling, as far as salads are concerned, and I often find myself eating quite a lot. From what I've encountered so far, I've only experienced decent food from this outlet, however I have heard tales of aged lettuce and the like, however as far as I'm concerned this should be taken as hearsay. Some of my sources do have the tendency to be pretentious.

Mixing your own salad does remedy the former issue but nothing will save the former. Sumo Salad also offers baguettes as an alternative to the salads but I always find the rolls to be a bit too sense and slightly stale. Poor alternatives to the nearby Subway in the food court. Do yourself a favour and hit up Fiesta Yiros to satisfy lunch time cravings.

Love Pho doesn't offer the best banh-mi, but it's tasty and drowning in soy, which some other trendy places neglect (although it does throw them to the thin ice side of salty). You have your choice of grilled chicken, terriyaki chicken, roast pork and pork belly, which aren't all that traditional, but they tend to be the standard offerings these days. In the end, you can get a tasty, quick lunch without a line. The foodcourt setting means that, if your companions aren't fans of a Vietnamese meat roll (why are you companions??), then they can get their fill of yiros or whatever. I can't comment on the other menu offerings, but if I'm in the Myer Centre then Love Pho offer a reasonable option.

They put so much meat in their banh mi (cold pork/chicken roll) and it was high quality meat.. perfect about of chili. Have also tried their cold noodle salad with combination meat (pork, chicken, prawn) which was great for a hot day. Cheap cheap at $5.50 for the roll (large enough for lunch) and $8.00 for a salad. It's a crowded food court though, and so not the nicest place to hang out with your food. I'd suggest taking it across North Tce to the little strip of park.

But do not let looks nor per-conceived ideas of "vegetarian" deceive you. I like Celeste, turn up my nose at the idea of anything with quinoa in it. Normally it means bland, cardboard tasting grit and not very appetising. However, this French, dread-locked, vegetarian must be putting "special mushrooms" or something in his burgers to make them taste so flavoursome, moorish and wholesome. Served up in a wholemeal roll with lettuce, avocado, chilli sauce and plenty of special salad mix this burger will fill you up from lunch to breakfast the next day and only for $10. Arguably, I took a bite of the haloumi and mushroom burger and had severe food envy with the extra kick the chutney gave to the burger - but that's not saying much considering mine was so good! You get a whole bunch of good karma from lunching with Veggie Velo, from the sustainability of it all to the lack of little baby pigs or lambs involved. But honestly, who cares? The food is so damn good I'd sacrifice something for a bite of Mr Velo's burgers.
