Deluxe Poke Bowl
Michelle V.

Wouldn't it be a-fucking-mazing if you could eat anything and not feel guilty about the calories? Ask them to reduce your rice portion and you're all set. How I would describe Poke is basically a deconstructed sushi served in a bowl. With chunks of raw fish tossed over rice and topped with vegetables, Poke is very versatile. I mean if this doesn't scream summer and fresh flavours to you, I think we might have a little problem. The Deluxe Poke Bowl is where the money's at. Shrimp tempura, salmon, tuna, red snapper and real crab meat? Don't settle for basic, it's worth that little extra buck. Poke Bol has now opened their second location on 23 Mont Royal East. What's even better than 20%OFF the entire day? THE FIRST 100 CLIENTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO HAVE A BOWL FOR FREE. Truth is, even if they didn't have their promotion, I still think Poké Bol is worth the calories if you are in the area. THEY DON'T FILL YOU UP WITH RICE. Oh and while you're at it, tell them Michelle Vo sent you over. Yeah, you're welcome.

This is by far my favourite Pokébowl place: the food presentation is amazing, everything is well placed on the bowl. The ingredients taste so fresh and arranged perfectly. The rice to salad ratio is perfect! A lot of place give you more rice and less salad, but not this place! The portions are very generous so you are full. The rice itself is seasoned and I loved the sauce. Definitely take the Deluxe Pokebowl if it's your first time going, it contains a variety of veggies and sashimi. It is a little bit pricier on their menu but so worth it!

I won an instagram contest for a Poke Bol at this location. It was a bit of a ride using public transport, getting off Mont Royal metro and at least a 15 mins bus ride. The venue is a takeout joint with seats available for those that want to dine in. The menu is simple yet clear - choose amongst menu listed choices including deluxe, sashimi, vegetarian, etc.. for a 13-15$ bowl at max. I opted for the shrimp and crab poke bowl 5/5- this was delicious! you can ask for how much rice and salad you want but I thought the ingredients blended really well, the bowl wasn't dry with a generous amount of sauce. Service was quick and friendly. The owners are opening a second location central downtown as of this week. I am looking forward to coming here again downtown, definitely one of my top spots for Poke!

If it's your first time, you should try the Deluxe or the Eel bowls for those of you with a shrimp allergy.

Review for 6/26/22. Got to-go order for dinner. Stayed at the hotel nearby and craved for some…read moreAsian food. Little bit pricy with the fish potion but food was freshly made. The Spicy 5.0 had pretty much the same ingredients as the spicy salmon but had both tuna and salmon. It's also $1.00 more. I liked the salmon itself as it was hardly to taste the tuna from the salmon with the sauce on. Overall a good choice for a quick dinner. Liked the idea of adding mango chucks in- a different tropical approach than the regular Hawaiian poke. Not heavily seasoned.

I have ordered from this restaurant for take-out multiple times. Although to call Poke Bolbar a…read morerestaurant would be rather a misnomer: it is more accurately a stand with counter service that shares an indoor dining area with another stand (Banh Mi 79). Service has always been no-frills, swift, and courteous. The food has also been consistent all the times I have patronized this place. I usually get the "Hawaii Poke Bowl" which consists of "Ahi Tuna and Salmon, Lettuce, Cucumber, Wakame, Kimchi, Edamame, Green Onion, Crunch Mix". I customarily request they replace the crunch mix and rice with more salad (no judgement please), and they always happily oblige. You can also personalize your bowl by adding extras such as avocados, kimchi, and so on for an additional cost. If you like salmon, I would recommend the "Bora Bora Poke Bowl"; if you like tuna, I would recommend the "Tahiti Poke Bowl." All things considered, I cannot say this is the best poke bar in town, but it also isn't the worst. I wouldn't plan a date here, nevertheless I would come here alone for a quick lunch fix, or a light dinner.
