    Every bite of freshness!
    Mik O.

Wow! The freshness from every bite! The staff and think was the owner are amazing and very attentive from the second we step in. Ambiance and decors very subtle has a peaceful atmosphere.. most definitely recommend to others..

Considering I have a sensitive stomach, I've never gotten sick eating here, the fish is really fresh and the interior is nice and clean. Everybody from the staff to the owner is really nice and the portions are generous. I seen some mixed reviews which confused me after trying it out a few times because everything has been excellent and I highly recommend these Poke Bowls!! I love the spicy house sauce that they make, sooo good but extra heat so be warned haha

After an unfortunate experience recently, I feel like I should post another review to commend how fast the owner responded to feedback left here. They were very apologetic and promised to refresh staff training. They also told me they've refunded full amount for that bowl (have yet to check my account), and offered to make up for the unpleasant experience with a free bowl. That night was hectic for me and when my daughter showed me the metal piece she got from her bowl, I immediately turned to yelp. Later on, I saw the link in the receipt which I also utilized. I truly appreciate the immediate response and genuine effort to make this right.

Amazing food, I've had the chance to talk to the owner and she's really nice and sweet and so are the workers!! The place is really well put together and a amazing spot to stop at and grab some delicious and fresh food!

Salmon and tuna on rice with green tea at hightop table.

Some go to In-N-Out when they get into the area. Our first stop is Poke Bar. I was excited to revisit recently after moving out of state and hoped to talk with the owner, which I got to do. She assembled our orders, offering advice on what paired best. I had salmon and tuna on rice. My husband had octopus and scallops, which aren't options near us. The crab or seaweed salad is a nice perk. The medium bowls were ample for our healthy appetites. The restaurant is clean; the food is always very fresh. For those who prefer romaine lettuce, the mixed greens offered is a better option (per a friend who works in food safety). They honor the history of Fort Ord with wall murals. The Aloha Spirit (from the staff, food/drinks and Hawaiian music) is contagious. The owner gave us dessert after learning of my birthday dessert mishap elsewhere the day before. Can't wait to return.

    OG 3. Original Salmon

Consistently good fresh ingredients. They don't drown the fish in sauce, you really get that buttery texture and flavor. I got the OG salmon, can't go wrong with it. Just perfect portions and balance of salmon, rice, crab, seaweed, edamame, cucumber and their house sauce + furikake season, no kidding OG classic. There was a beautifully arranged Hawaiian chips in a basket that called my name... the spice kick from it elevated the meal. Don't forget the chips! We came in during a crowd but it was very quick service. From line to seating we were sitting to enjoy our food over nostalgic Hawaiian reggae before we knew it. This place was super clean and there were ample tables to dine at. The staff was warm and welcoming, answered all my questions, even if very few since the menu was pretty straight forward, which I appreciated. Just come! Don't think about it. It's a guiltLESS pleasure.

The good: Clean. Friendly staff. Basic poke. The bad: not a lot of variety for the poke or the sides. Left feeling...sad. And not satiated which was a little disappointing. A little steep in terms of price for what it was. Ended up being around $13 for a small bowl. To consider: if you want basic poke, this is the place for you. I think that this would be a decent//non overwhelming environment for newbs. If you have a love for good poke with lots of accouterments this may not be worth your time or monies.

We wanted more of a small plate of galbi. Seems like they had this all-out grilled meat package which would've been the only focus of dinner. So wish they had a happy middle ground. We ended up getting the kimchi pancake, soondubu and bibimbap. Pancake was a bit on the sharp side, probably because of the kimchi. The soondubu didn't come with an egg, so be sure to ask for one. The tofu was definitely still, probably just the types of tofu that was available to them in the area. The kibimbap was actually pretty good. And the bonchons were spot on. The service here was very friendly. Like many korean restaurants, the wait staff is more than happy to help you prep your food at the table, which is a very nice and friendly touch. Overall, pretty average korean food and very friendly service. Its worth checking out.

All of the dishes were so delicious, portions are generous, and service is friendly! Dining area is clean and welcoming. We were greeted with a smile by the owner, treated like royalty with a clean table, bottled waters, and pure joy. I was unable to eat anything due to a food allergy (they use soybean oil), but I recommend this restaurant for everyone who can eat the food safely. The owner prepared a plate with our Loved One's favorite dishes - she was HI-Japanese - so these were her 'comfort foods'. The dishes sampled were the ones we chose for the event. They included Pancet (meat & veg) and Fried Lumpia. We paid after our tasting & made arrangements for a 3rd party to pick up the dishes on the day of the event. Guests & family raved about the food. It was presented nicely and there was plenty for our large group. We send our gratitude to the owner & his attentive staff for providing exemplary customer service & food. Pick up was easy & everything was packaged for safe transport in a car. Some notes about the restaurant: It's located in a strip mall with ample parking. The place is practically spotless. The owner never stopped cleaning. Restaurant owners & managers, take note!! The menu is simple, but hearty and flavorful (according to my friend). If you're lucky, the dishwasher will serenade you as he works!!

I asked the cashier what other item she recommended as a combo, which comes with steamed cabbage and broccoli and, of course, steamed rice. She offered the chicken katsu because it was popular. Since it took some time for my food, I figured that it was cooked to order, which is a good sign. I took my lunch back to work because I wasn't that hungry at the time, but I did have some macaroni salad. I had my lunch an hour or so later. I was thinking that the katsu was going to be dry since it had been sitting in the container. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't, it was very tender, even after warming it up in the microwave for a short time. Ohhh, the kalua pork and macaroni salad were on point! So good! I'll have to try their spam musubi next time, one of my favorites.
