I would say this restaurant is more of a pick up and go type spot or a place to order delivery…read morefrom. We dined here with a couple friends and while they did have a table for us, it just felt more like a to-go type spot. No music and all of our orders came out in closed to-go containers even though we were dining in. Once inside, you place an order on the tablet, pay, and then they brought the dishes out to you. We ordered the tuna wasa carpaccio, the tiger roll, the rainbow roll, and the albacore onion roll. I had some of the edamame on the table which was a nice portion and it was good and nicely salted. The tuna carpaccio was probably my favorite dish of the bunch, the fish slices were tasty. The tiger roll had a variety of fish inside but each of the pieces were cut inconsistently and they were so thick with rice. It was hard to eat one piece at a time and we had to bite it in half and then eat the rest. It felt more rice-forward than fish-forward. Awkwardly chunky pieces of sushi. The rainbow roll was pretty good but not very memorable. The pieces were thick too but it didn't bother us as much as with the tiger roll. Probably the best roll of the bunch. And we didn't love the albacore onion roll. Sushi here is overall okay, there are some inconsistencies with how they cut each roll and some have more rice than others, but overall we felt like it was way overpriced for what you get.

Ordered this to go on Valentine's Day and it hit the spot. Love sushi!…read more We each got a miso soup and shared the spicy tuna crispy rice (tiny portion lol kinda wish the pieces were bigger but it was still yummy). The baked crab and avocado cut roll was great and I also got a negihama hand roll which was yum. It was the perfect portion of food. The baked crab was particularly my favorite and it said they were known for that - I liked the ratio of crab to rice.

I'm so happy I did, Rafael the owner was inside by himself and from the moment we met him, you could see how much he has a passion for his restaurant. It's a very small shop, but there is some tables outside for seating with a direct view of the ocean. This little gingerbread alleyway is adorable and a tiny little hidden gem in Venice. I tried the classic ceviche, and it was literally perfect. He put such care into making it and it is an art.. he really does it quite well making sure the Leche de Tigre is fully flavored, and that all of the ingredients are immersed in it, and the fish is so fresh - sea bass actually. He even sat down with us and told us his story, which is really moving and gives you another reason to appreciate this great small business.

We were warmly greeted by the owner, who seated and welcomed us, and handed us menus and took our order--for our group of eight adults, one hour before close. We each got bowls. I went with the Asian Bowl, others went with the Ceviche or Lomo bowls, and all the bowls looked good and everyone enjoyed their food. We appreciated the warm service and the love we could all taste in the food. What a great little option to have on the Venice beach boardwalk. REAL FOOD. And something other than the typical options is always something worth trying, supporting and encouraging. 5 stars!

Everyone was dismissive. Let me repeat it. Everyone was dismissive. They leave their fish in a fridge over night I can taste the difference of fresh and bad quality... how come it's not fresh? but again service was nothing but horrible. I'd recommend going to sweet fin. Sweet fin provides much more quick and efficient service allowing you to come and go. Bunch of options and the area is nice. Summer is around the corner and it's going to end soon and poke me is off everyone's list including mine. Pictures look great but let's talk about consistency. Been a regular signed up for loyal zoo and even decided to give this location a try after my previous one. Very poor My experience can not be made up and I've concluded my experience and hope everyone reframes from spending money at this business!! Those who leave good reviews most likely are affiliated to the buisness or hasn't seen or wanted to experiment any other poke shop. Go to sweet fin. Be aware of this place. I called the store but nobody answered. 0/10 stars.

¥¥¥ 2026 review #11 ¥¥¥…read more Take me back to Hawaii!!! Only those of you who have had Foodland every single day in Hawaii... #iykyk like I have, would swoon at first poke bite! So glad that Chef Jeff now has a permanent location in Sawtelle that's not too far away from home -- whenever poke cravings hit. Born a foodie in a family of foodies ^_^ , 12-year Black Yelp Elite and a private Chef, I can say there's poke and there's poke. Not all poke are made equal. Chef Jeff's poke and sauces are not only inspired from Foodland but his take is even better! I'm not usually a big fan of Oyster sauce poke but Feisty Fish Poke won me over with their Oyster sauce marinated Yellowfin Tuna!!! Oh don't even get me started on the big chunks of fresh tuna... Captain's Choice is the way to go! An extra-LARGE poke bowl with your choice of any 2 marinades : we got 1 big scoop of yuzu ponzu + 1 big scoop of oyster sauce marinated yellowfin tuna. And 2 scoops of white rice, a good pile of crunchy Persian cucumber bites, generous serving of fresh seaweed salad (just perfectly seasoned, not overly salty like most places), furikake sprinkle and a drizzle of unagi sauce. PURE POKE HEAVEN!!! For only $30, it's plenty to share for 2 people. There's also the single rice scoop with 1 scoop of poke for $20/bowl with cute names such as: - Sea Candy (teriyaki marinade) - Aw, Shucks! (Oyster sauce marinade) - Ponzu Scheme (yuzu ponzu marinade) - Fuego Mayo (spicy mayo marinade) Honestly can't go wrong with bowl you pick. Must add-on a scoop of Kani salad (mild or spicy) for only $2. I can't think of anything more that I would want in a perfect poke bowl. It's Poke Perfection on the mainland! Hmmm.... maybe I'll bring an avocado and a pack of nori. I'll have to try their Poke nachos next time. The Coco Moco (Choco PB protein shake) also seems super popular, perfect after workout protein treat. Small parking lot share with a gym, and lots of open street parking. Check hours on Yelp or call Chef Jeff before you visit -- just to make sure the truck is there as some days may be booked for catering and special events. *** Drop me a DM when you visit, would love to hear how you like Fiesty Fish Poke!
