This place is absolutely fantastic. There is no other restaurant/bar in Stevens Point that brings me nearly as much joy as Point After Pub & Grille. Their food is fabulous and they make some great mixed drinks (and they have a good selection of beer). Their staff is so friendly and welcoming, you'd be silly not to stop in. I've been on a mission to try all of their yummy sandwiches and wraps. So far I've had the roasted red pepper chicken sandwich, pesto chicken sandwich, southwest chicken sandwich, salmon BLT, and the Cajun chicken wrap. They were all delicious, with lots of flavor and fresh ingredients. I also loved that those sandwiches come on a focaccia bun. And their wraps are HUGE. I could only finish half of it and I have a rather large appetite. My husband is beyond picky when it comes to Buffalo Wings (he considers himself a bit of a connoisseur). And Point After's wings have wooed his taste buds with flying colors. They have a wing special on Thursday night that he loves...you can get their wings for 50 cents a piece. They also have a really good cup of chili soup you can get Thursday nights. And if that's not enough, I love the atmosphere here. It's very relaxed and friendly (at least all of the times that we've been there). It doesn't seem to be a place where college kids come to get belligerent. It's just an all around nice place. Decent pub and grill, just as the name advertises. It was my first time through Stevens Point and I followed the Yelp reviews for a change. It is a bar, and they have a full menu...the kicker is that the food isn't just thrown down in a fryer, it actually tasted pretty good. My group received excellent service and we enjoyed the environment. The prices were higher than bar food but that's because it was a hell of a lot better than bar food. In addition to the egg, they slapped bacon, fried onions, and a full hashbrown onto it for good measure. The hashbrown overpowered the flavor a bit, but otherwise, great stuff. We've only been there for Friday fish fries. We choose the perch all three times. The plates are full of food and at first glance looks very good. They are very efficient and they have a large selection of commercial and craft beers. Our first visit the perch was very good, with the exception of too heavy of a batter on the perch. The next two visits the perch was almost as good but was way too oily. It's almost like the oil wasn't hot enough and the fish absorbed it. It was tasty but too greasy. read more

I don't normally give 5 stars but this place was exceptional. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and an invitation to sit where we wished. Our server, Kat, came promptly after we sat down and took our drink order. We opted for appetizers of cheese curds and hand battered onion rings. Since these were our first cheese curds - not something you find in south Texas - we had no previous experience for comparison. They were tasty and will probably become something we get when we come north. The onion rings... about as close to perfection that I have ever had. The batter was crisp, not greasy, and held that quality to the end of the meal. Even cold, they were delightful. My wife and friend split the smoked Gouda burger with sweet potato waffle fries and had the western burger with brewski fries. Both burgers were superb. Overall, this small town eatery was great. Visiting town -- we learned kitchen closed at 10pm (as we got there at 9:55pm). The waitress was great and grabbed menus quick and told us to pick quick if we wanted some food. Tried Point After for dinner after seeing the reviews. I can see why it gets such good reviews. Other than parking being a bit of a challenge. This place is a gem. The menu is somewhat typical pub fare. But some of the items have an added twist, an unusual added ingredient, or combine some otherwise unlikely foods into one sandwich. I wasn't in an adventurous mood. So I didn't try the Heart Attack Burger. Just the pork sandwich. Which was very good but the bun was a little too soft. So, it was messy as it fell apart easily. It was busy so service was a little slow. But I expected that give the popularity of the place. All in all a good experience. Good food. Cold beer. And nice atmosphere. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Point. read more
