Turns out the gun was stolen, purchased by the pawn shop, and then sold to me. Obviously this pawn shop does not run serial numbers on firearms before purchasing/selling so use caution when buying from these people. I was forced to turn the gun over the police and when I went back to the pawn shop to work it out, I was told there was nothing they could do for me and would not refund my money or replace the firearm.
