Okay, I'm almost afraid to recommend Dr. Chung for fear he will become inaccessible when I need to…read moresee him, but he's such an amazing doctor, and Signature Medical Group is such an amazing practice, I feel I owe it to him to thank him, but telling others what a great doctor he is. He could easily win the primary care doctor of the year award, in my opinion. I have to be honest; I am not a huge fan of doctors or the medical field, for the most part. I have had some pretty awful and traumatizing experiences at the hands of the medical profession over the course of my life, and so I had been without a primary care doctor for a number of years before I found Dr. Chung. I was going with the, if I don't think about it I'll be fine mentality. However, it became clear I really did need to see a doctor, and so an extended family member suggested I see a colleague of his, who was not taking patients. Dr. Chung was new to the practice, and so I thought, okay, I guess I could give him a try, but I steeled myself, for what I assumed would be a horrible experience. My first visit with Dr. Chung was a game changer. I wanted to hug him after my visit and all of his staff as well. He LISTENED! HE LISTENED! HE CLEARLY ACTUALLY HEARD WHAT I HAD SAID TO HIM. HE MADE OBSERVATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS! HE NEVER GAVE ORDERS. He was, at ALL times, respectful, thoughtful and I felt so comfortable with him. In the past 5 or so years that I have been Dr. Chung's patient, I have never had a negative experience with his practice, (Okay, one time, one of the office staff was crabby, but hey, we all have off days sometimes, and it wasn't a big deal, just a tiny bit of edge). After I met Dr. Chung, I immediately scheduled my kids, and my mom with him, and now pretty much my entire family call Dr. Chung when they need a doctor. Seriously, he's an awesome doctor! I wish he could clone himself. Oh, by the way, the rest of the practice is pretty amazing too. I've occasionally had to see Dr. Chung's colleagues when he's been on vacation and they are just as awesome as he is. The support staff are great too; very kind, thoughtful, gentle, non-frightening, and so comfortable to be with. Thank you Signature Medical Group, you've changed my mind about doctors.

Second, the appointments are pretty easy to get, especially if you are willing to see a PA. Kate is phenomenal and caught medical issues that I was previously unaware of having. She is very knowledgeable and takes her time getting your medical history. Cons-- Now, you do have to find the right PA. The first one I was assigned to, Fatima, was lacking in communication I felt because my online chart was not filled in even though I was badgered into opening an account. She also told me to get a colonoscopy after 5 years when I had no issues. The colonoscopy practice across the street pestered me relentlessly then. I also think that they do not have enough doctors.

The person might not be the correct person you actually saw or service you had. Then simultaneously you can be thrown into out of network status. Which in turn you to have to pay for more out of pocket costs. Then after payment, the receipt will say the actual person you saw-- who was in network status. Insurance company told me it's all about whose NPI number is on the bill and the name- wasn't the person I saw!! See what's happening- after many years I had enough and found a more reputable healthcare establishment. Will not miss the rude front desk either. I miss the old Winters family practice- both the dad and son- those days are gone!!

For days now after a significant injury I just get the runaround from this office and the Advocate support staff. I don't want their excuses, I want medical care. It's plainly obvious the support staff could not care less about patient needs. They should take a job in another industry. Now days later, I find that in the middle of recovering from a significant injury I'm having to see a new doctor at another practice because Elgin Family Physicians cannot do a follow up after hospital stay for a month! What's worse is I continue to get the runaround when trying to get copies of my own medical records. This isn't patient care, and patient we don't care.

Every time I come here I spend about an hour and and a half waiting. 45 minutes or more in the waiting room, then the rest waiting on the table in a paper smock. They are obviously over capacity with patients. The medical assistants are a hit or miss. Most times I got one that was in a horrible mood. Which I don't blame them, the poor ladies had a waiting room full of people to attend. Every time I go for a yearly check up there seems to be a new doctor every time. So it seems as the turn over is very high there. The last time I went was a horrible experience. It took 2 months for the insurance to apparently approve my choice of birth control. I ended up going to planned parenthood instead which only took 15 minutes for them to find out my insurance covered it. I wouldn't recommend this place, it isn't what it used to be. When. I switched doctors offices this place had a "dissatisfied with clinic" if they have that option as a reason to send your medical file then they know they are doing something wrong.

Oh, I gave it a shot, but was sent down a rabbit hole quickly. I visited because my husband had been seeing Dr. Sanchez for a while, and I needed to see a dr. for my shoulder. I was scheduled to see Lady Bowennsheim, an Advance Nurse Practitioner--not sure about that title, but I figured she was a PA. Problem #1, she could barely speak English. eeek. She ordered an x-ray for my arm, and since I hadn't had blood work done in a while, they administered blood tests. Additionally, I wanted to talk about weight loss drugs, specifically, Wegovy. Lady immediately suggested I see a psychiatrist. HUH? She recommended a drug several times, and I kept asking about Wegovy. She finally admitted she did not know what Wegovy was. HUH? Once I got back to planet Earth, I looked up the drug she referred to, and found that it causes suicidal thoughts, and was NOT used for weight loss. Furthermore, she never called for a follow up call, and I didn't receive the blood test results. After much pestering on my behalf, I received those. I then followed up with Dr. Sanchez, who was aware of the misrecommendation, and he lazily glossed over it. A month or so later, I went for the mammogram that was ordered, and found questionable cells. That test was followed up by more diagnostics, and finally a biopsy. Not once did Dr. Sanchez follow up with me. HUH? I put a quick end to that relationship. This odyssey doesn't end with me. My husband had been seeing Dr. Sanchez for a couple of years. He was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and issued meds for the condition. All along, my husband complained about Dr. Sanchez, "He talks about me in Spanish to his nurse"; He's never shown me or talked in detail with me about blood test results"; I've complained to him that I don't feel balance in terms of blood pressure--something's wrong", to name a few. My husband now sees my new dr., who quickly realized my husband was on the wrong high blood pressure medicine. It was only good for 12 hours--something Dr. Sanchez failed to mention, and indicate on the scrip. I guess that explains why his blood pressure was 177 over 90. HUH? Let me sum this all up: this guy is a quack, completely unconcerned about his patients, clueless about prescriptions, hires immigrants who are not informed and barely know how to speak our native language. And, get this: he doesn't accept insurance. HUH?

I suppose I will have to cancel the surgery.
