Terrible service, the food came cold, staff was not trained and the price was for a supposedly first class steak house

Great Argentinean steakhouse. For Americans, an amazing break from grain fed industrial meat of ours steakhouses. Get their special.

I fully appreciated the blanket and heaters that were brought over as it was a chilly evening, yet we were still "indoors" but not. Service was impeccable, with every member of the staff ensuring our experience was top notch and food met our expectations. I chose the slowly roasted beef ribs rice and was not expecting savory goodness that arrived! The beef ribs melted in my mouth and the rice was so incredibly flavorful - I would order this over and over again! Of all the restaurants I've been to, Figueira Rubaiyat has by far the one of the most extensive wine list I've seen, featuring many different wines from around the world, including Brazil of course! There is also a gift shop that should not be missed because of the very unique items that are found here - and a place I'll need to visit next time I'm in the area again! The entire experience is one that should not be missed. Every detail and every bite was absolute perfection!

I was literally still dreaming about it the next day; the food was really that good. Another standout dish was the braised short rib with sticky rice, a Brazilian specialty that was mouthwateringly delicious, with the beef and rice combo melting in your mouth. The toppings and sides were excellent as well. This was at an upscale restaurant, and the bill came out to half of what we would normally pay in the states. Food like this would cost at least two to three hundred dollars in California! For the price we are paying and the quality we are receiving, this is absolutely outrageous. I'd really like to see São Paulo's state government clean up its act and do more for the city, because there's no reason it shouldn't be a top tourist destination. I'm not much of a foodie, so it's nice having friends who are. You can just trust their recommendations and go along for the ride!!

It's the…read moreclassic churrascaria experience -- similar to Fogo de Chão -- with a full buffet, salad bar, and endless cuts of meat brought to the table. Here's the thing: I don't eat steak, pork, or most of the meats they specialize in, and I'm not a big fan of buffet or all‑you‑can‑eat restaurants in general. We came here because a coworker invited us, and she was being really kind, so I didn't think to check the price beforehand. I ended up only eating the salad, and with dessert my total came to about $66. For someone who doesn't eat the main attraction, that price felt a bit high -- honestly, I felt a little ripped off, LOL. Not the restaurant's fault at all; this is exactly how churrascarias work. It just wasn't the best match for my eating habits. Next time, I'll politely turn down the invite or suggest a different spot that fits my preferences better. But if you do enjoy steakhouse-style dining and want the full Brazilian churrasco experience, Barbacoa delivers exactly what it promises.

I love several other Churrasacarias in São Paulo, but this one is a real standout. We had a group dinner with friends and coworkers, and we were led to a large table, and the staff fawned all over us. They were very accommodating and friendly. The food and wine were all top-notch, and they brought whatever cut of meat you asked for, instead of waiting for the "good stuff" like the Picanha. The salad bar was great as well, although I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any Feijoada, which is usually a staple at any Churrascaria in Brazil. Again, there are several good Churrascarias here, but if you want the best, you won't get any better than Barbacoa!

The quintessentially Portugese name for this place could not be pronounced by American tourists so they changed it to "south's place" to attract more non-Brazillians (jk). The salad bar is endless and offers a nice collection of sliced tomatos and salmon sashimi. "Pekeno" is the word you need to use to ask for smaller cuts because they will try to stuff you within your first 5 minutes of sitting down. Take your time, keep your bites small and think of the children and you just might survive this experience.

Needless to say, meats are all very good and salad bar are all fresh ingredients with some salmon sashimi (honestly I would go to other place for sushi). I guess garcons are all very well trained and the chief guy (he wears jacket of different color) commands his team pretty well. They are all friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for tourists also. After your stomach is so full, you can walk around in Shopping Morumbi till you feel comfortable! Oh. don't forget to ask for Papaya cream for desert. This will help digesting tons of meat.
