I came here very much wanting to like the place, and as far as decor, service and menu, it's nice. But based on the gumbo, it's just okay. The roux could have used a bit more salt and a bit more spice and the okra could have had a bit more texture and crunch. For someone who has never had Cajun cuisine been to New Orleans, no disappointment is possible. For those who have, it's the lesson that when you promise something as authentic a continent removed from that cuisine, it better really deliver.
I also had the pulled pork sandwich slider as a side (5 euros for one - definitely not slider pricing) and my friends thoroughly demolished their desserts so it's definitely got winners - including their sparkling mate drink on ice, which is refreshing and unique. read more
