Harley at Design Prodigy is the perfect combination of honesty, integrity, talent, and knowledge…read moreall delivered with tremendous kindness, and respect. He is upfront about budget and costs and keeps you updated every step of the way so there are no unpleasant surprises. What puts Harley's company in a league of its own, is his team. These are not subcontractors with tons of other jobs all happening simultaneously. He hand picked these workers, who are masters in their fields. What this means is, that team showed up early every morning. They worked hard and wasted no time. They are experts at what they do and they take pride in the job they perform. Harley treats your job like he is working on his own house. This comes across very clearly in every decision and choice he makes to select materials, plants, products, etc. He also consulted me before every design decision was made, from the the height of the step leading to the backyard, to the exact color of the cement, to the exact placement of the plants before the digging took place. Another designer may have gone ahead and planted the plants per the architectural design, but Harley has this innate understanding that people change their minds when they see things actually laid out, or after they have time to think about the project as it it progressing. It is this insightful understanding about human nature, that greatly reduces stress during the project as you come to trust and appreciate these rare qualities that you don't find in most people. I am so pleased with the work Design Prodigy did in the backyard.

Luis is a nice, positive guy, and I'm bummed I have to leave this review. Unfortunately he was…read morewoefully underprepared for my job he bid and performed. I hired Green Zone to dig a ~45' trench to a shed in my backyard at 2' deep for electrical conduit. He initially bid the job at one day and $810. I made the mistake of assuming he had a trencher and other equipment for this task. He showed up on day 1 with a gas auger for post holes, not a trencher. After a couple hours on day 1, he said the cost would actually be $1500 , nearly double the original cost because of some unexpected difficulty with rocks and other debris. He spent a ton of time trying to get the auger to start/restart throughout the day. Of course he wasn't able to finish that day, and said he'd come back with electric tools more appropriate for the job. On the second day, he came back with the same gas auger, though it seemed to be in somewhat better running order. About halfway through that day, he said he wouldn't be able to dig a straight trench because of debris. He eventually got someone to bring an electric saw he used to remove this debris, to his credit. At the end of the second day, he said he was going to come back with a mini excavator to finish the job. On the third day, he did come back with one, but it was extremely large for the space and resulted in a completely destroyed yard surface, a damaged structure in the yard, and concerns about the shed foundation.

This is the second time we used GreenZone. Called them to do…read moretree trimming and some landscaping on our front and back yard. It was a very big job but Luis and his team worked very hard and got it done. They did great quality work and we are very pleased. Gave us some great advice on future maintenance as well.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with PNW Permaculture & Garden on a front and backyard…read moredesign that beautifully aligned with our love for permaculture, Pacific native plants, and Japanese garden aesthetics. A year after implementing her thoughtful design, we're thrilled to say her ideas have far exceeded our expectations, and the local birds and bees seem to agree. What we appreciated most was Ali's ability to create a plan that allowed us to implement much of it ourselves. This hands-on approach not only saved us money but also helped us learn about our land and develop our beginner-level permaculture skills. We've achieved a 90% success rate with the plants we've planted, and the 10% that didn't thrive taught us valuable lessons we needed to learn--an incredibly worthwhile investment. Ali's design was also adaptable to our budget and bandwidth, letting us break the project into manageable steps. Next year, we're excited to start our chicken coop and continue bringing this vision to life. Every day, we fall more in love with our garden--it's a peaceful, thriving space that has enriched our lives in ways we never imagined. Ali's expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to sustainable design are unmatched. On top of all this, her pricing was incredibly reasonable for the lasting impact her work has had. If you're looking for a designer who blends artistry with eco-conscious principles and empowers you to grow alongside your land, Ali is the one to call. We couldn't recommend her more highly!
