For its inauguration, the line up was pretty good - though i admit for me anything involving Ms Cheezious is a win. Other names I recognize include Jefe's, HipPOPs, Jersey Dawg and Sugar Yummy Mama. Admittedly this is a first so there's plenty of room for improvement. For starter, there were not enough tables and hardly any chairs. The event was in the middle of the street, near World of Beer, Lime Fresh, Which Wich and Passion Del Cielo, among other businesses. So there's no tree for shades, and the heat from all the food trucks kind of got trapped in, it just felt rather hot to be eating outdoors. Parking is plentiful as there is a garage nearby. Usually you get free parking via validation at one of the businesses, but I didn't notice a booth offering validation, so I am not sure how it works, not sure if the brick and mortar restaurants will be glad to validate non customers, or have them use the business's al fresco tables and chairs. Honestly, the venue is less than ideal, compared to Hollywood Young Circle, Tropical Park, or other venues where people can bring the whole family, sit on the grass, under the tree, by the fountain, and linger for a good time. Here it's more like grab your food and go. Also it seems to be bringing competition, not business, to the neighboring tenants. So while I love seeing more food trucks, and may stop by occasionally to get some food, I am not loving it yet. Hopefully it will improve and grow in the future. The first event happened on Sept 3, the next one is Oct 8, so I guess it's happening the first or second Thursday of the month.
