Recently we attempted to refinance with the lender that our mortgage went to when we first bought the house. And that was a nightmare!! The employees jerked us around, our processor refused to call us back when we reached out, she ended up quitting on us and the company as a whole gave us such a hard way to go where we ultimately were denied for the loan. The loan officer with the original lender told us to try a different lender (super professional for a lender to tell us to go elsewhere). We had no clue we could try a new lender so we reached out to Carolyn with low expectations due to being denied with our first attempt. I should also mention that we had been trying to refinance since January, where it was to soon (we had to have lived in our home for a year before attempting a refi) but it was weeks into the process before finding that out. So we tried again in May with the original lender, that carried on to August, and then of course we were denied. Carolyn reviewed all our info when we went to her and said she didn't see anything that would prevent us from being able to refi so we gave it a shot. This was in August and here we are in September waiting for the funds to be wired anytime now. She did such a fantastic job! It was pain free, she was so straight forward and honest every step of the way and it was so quick! It's an amazing feeling knowing your loan officer is on your side and is pushing for you. Compared to our last experience we were use to feeling like we didn't matter, and just a thorn in their sides. Not only did we refinance as we had hoped, in a timely matter, with no stress, we also feel that we made a great friend along the way. Great loan officer, and even better person. Highly, highly recommend going to Calhoun Mortgage for a mortgage, and refinance or whatever financial needs you may have!! She will treat you as a priority and with the upmost respect. My first lender made me feel like I didn't matter and some how I should be grateful to him. It's hard to explain, but he made me feel small and I didn't feel like there was much transparency in what was going on. Buying a home is a big deal, and I did not want to do business with a person or company I didn't trust. I started searching and found Doug online after I put in an offer on a house. From the get go, he was quick to respond, very nice, respectful, and helpful. He made you feel like a value customer. He was always so great with responses and helped me anyway he could. He worked to get me pre-approved with documents for the home in about 1-1.5 days. And it was smooth sailing from there. I also worked a little with Thomas towards the end and he was also nice, helpful, pleasant, and easy to work with. I just closed on my first home yesterday and it was all done in about a month. And you know they're great guys when even the title company mentioned how nice and easy they were to work with; my realtor has also said great things about both of them.
