I just closed my account today. I had a simple savings account with $160 in it and was charged dormant fees of $150 over the last 12 months. Whole point of the savings account is to leave the money in it and let it accrue interest. Horrible policies given they are supposed to be a local credit union taking care of the community. read more

Crystal Wietecha, remote now but previously of the Howell office, handled my latest auto loan fully remote. This is my 5th loan working with Crystal and each experience has been stellar! All prior were at the Howell branch. She also set up our Corporate checking. The loans have always been at the best rates with the best process. I am now retired so getting my biggest loan for a 2020 RAM with no current paycheck was a little trickier. Crystal knew exactly what to do and the loan was a breeze with eSign. Since the office in Howell remodeled, the tellers and loan people change every week. We can't get to know or trust your employees if they are constantly changing. It was a major inconvenience when the branch was remodeling, and while we understand about Covid, maybe if you had a couple more workers at the drive-thru. Seems there was always just one teller working and taking care of all the cars in line for 1/2 hour or longer, depending on what day it was. What happened to Rachel Pickell and Laura and Kelly? Now it seems they have been replaced by tellers in training, and not trained very well. Online banking is getting to be a bad experience. Your internet is always down. It's hard to pay bills online or get statements off the internet if you are always down. We have called and left messages, visited the branch and spoke with whoever the teller we had several times about getting our home refinanced. Each time, we are told someone will call us back. After being told this 4-5 times, we went with a different bank. LOC Credit Union is becoming very difficult to work with! read more

Constant mistakes. Rollout of new "improved" system has been disasterous. All the employees are overworked, and therefore exhausted and unable to assist with issues. Everyone "passes the buck". Very few locations. Inconvenient and inefficient. read more

If you enjoy watching paint dry, you'll love this credit union. Doing anything here takes forever and I thought I would die trying to get a simple auto loan. A week into the process the loan officer casually announced that my APR would be four percent higher than I was led to believe. Very disappointing. And, if you call them, expect to be on hold s half hour before you get someone's voicemail. Infuriating! BTW: I originally applied for the loan online. It crashed after a half hour of inputting my particulars. I tried a second time and got a confirmation message saying to expect to hear from them the next business day. Nothing. I then went in person and they told me they'd never received it. read more

Crystal, at the Howell branch made the entire auto loan process a breeze! She was very knowledgeable, respectful and had a lot of energy. Because if her professionalism and ability to make a rather stressful process fun, I would absolutely refer others to her. The entire process took less than an hour and all my loan information was clear and accurate to what I expected (no curveballs). I completed my online application and made an appointment to finalize all the documents shortly there after. The online application could use some help however, as some of the info I added did not get transferred over to the CU. With that said, LOC CU offered the best APR, compared to other credit unions I looked at in the area. I will definitely continue to use LOC CU for any financial means in the future. read more

Very frustrating. I went in to apply for a credit card. The lady at the front desk told me to wait in the lobby. 30 plus mins later still nothing. I wish she would have told me there was only one lady working and she was busy with a client instead of making me think one of the other 10 girls aimlessly walking around on their phones would be able to help. They keep changing the website - now I can't even log in to see my accounts and pay bills. I'm so frustrated!

I have been with this credit union for about 25 years. In 2005 I got a car loan with a co-signer. In 2016, I applied for another car loan, I was willing to have a co-signer again, if need be. They did not get back to me for days, I had to call them. Finally found out I was denied, seems they could have called to let me know so I could look for other options. When I talked to them, they told me the last car loan was a mistake and if they had been audited, they would have had to pay a penalty. What??? I have lost total confidence in this place. I finally found a new credit union and am going to change. Doesn't seem like the kind of treatment you should get from your bank. read more
