I had my card on a list of stolen numbers, and I never even saw any bad transactions. They immediately issued me another card. This bank is on their toes! I just found out that their credit cards are far superior in lower interest than the ones that I have (switching to their cards). Also, I have bought Six Flag tickets and other entertainment tickets from them (huge savings for members). Now, that already puts them at ten stars in my book. But, even more than is how personable, friendly, and home town feel this bank gets another five stars. They are very helpful and courteous. They remember who you are when they see you, and they bend over backwards to make you feel like you are dealing with a five star bank. I can't never imagine banking anywhere else (seriously).

FIRST COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION is my bank (801 Lincoln Hwy. in Fairview Heights.) we're new to metro-east! We became one of the share holders/owners of a small piece of First Community JUST because of one or two features some other banks don't have namely, free checking, one-time one dollar membership fee, refunds on fees charged when you use other bank's ATMs, really-friendly-not-snooty associates (who work for the members and not the corporate stock holders,) a free set of 125 personalized checks and a personalized ATM card! They offer the lowest rates on car and home loans in the area. Online bill payments (much more secure than your mattress), 24/7/365 drive-up banking and everything your little network of stockholder owned banks have except their higher rates on loans. Remember, if you are a member the interest you pay on a loan goes right back to the share-holder/owners of FIRST COMMUNITY and that's what keeps the loan rates so low. They also have some of the services your stock-holder owned bank has like direct deposit. Who doesn't? There's a popcorn popper in every freakin' FOURTY-ONE of their branches to give you something to do while you're waiting for your dividend check, if you might have to sit down and wait, WHICH I doubt you ever will. The teller couldn't figure out how to do a reversal on a deposit and thus caused numerous checks to bounce even though the money was in the acct. I'm sure the teller was never even told of how her errors cause credit rating issues for people which in turn means money. I can only hope that teller has someone mess up their financial status in the future.

We were there forty five minutes and she was struggling to get us out of there when a teller yelled across the bank for someone to "ANSWER THE PHONE". She took the call and then left her desk. When she came back she couldn't get back on the network. Long story short- we had to return the next day. The most amazing thing is that they screwed up our account numbers and questioned every single deposit we made into our accounts. They were ticked that I had deposit slips from the bank that had the wrong account number printed on them. I didn't print them, you did, was my usual response. They suggested I do the dishonest move of revoking a charge afterward, even though I authorized the charge, which I believe should not have been suggested to me BY a bank worker. Trying to get my login set up on the mobile app was a bit of a nightmare, but the folks at tech support were great! Very patient. Very kind. (I did get a little hot under the collar, but both people I interacted with were incredibly gracious.) I'm looking forward to continuation of the great experiences I've had for the last 24 years.
