Powers, the marketing manager, on Oct. 5. On Oct. 24 my husband and I arrived to the seminar and were told by Geoffrey that we are not in the list because someone from the company called us and we did not respond to the call. He even told they called 3 times. When I asked when, he looked in his notes and told we were called on Oct. 18. He did not allow us to stay at the seminar even though it looked like there were few people who did not show up. There was no single phone message or voice mail left from anyone from the company. Even worse, there was no calls from the company at all - I checked all my phone log records not just for Oct. 18, but for 17th and 19th. So Geoff plainly lied to us. There was another couple who came to the seminar and was told exactly the same thing. They told they did not get any messages or voice mails either. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable from any business and especially from the company marketing manager. I want everyone to understand and avoid dealing with the company where the marketing manager lies directly looking in people eyes!

That advisor was let go a few years ago after 15 years of service (because he was not meeting the newly instated quota for new clients) and he called me to let me know prior to leaving. This advisor was wonderful, attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable, contacted his clients (even when they were not adding money to their investments) regularly and scheduled regular meetings at least once a year (or much more when actively investing). Upon his leaving, I was told my new advisor would contact me. He never did. I finally called them and was passed around. Once I got in touch with someone I told them I wanted to speak with my advisor about my investments. No one ever contacted me. I had a monthly deduction being taken from my bank account for investments and I called First Investors to have that cancelled. They assured me that would occur. When I looked at my account recently, I noticed that the withdraws were still being made. I called again and they had no idea who the investors was assigned to my portfolio. I finally spoke with my advisor. I was told again that this would be cancelled. The Financial Advisor sounded bored, uninterested, and did not even bother to discuss my investments. Without any prompting I shared that I was disappointed in the service since my initial advisor left and he did not offer an apology or reason for why I was never contacted. I shared that I was interested in a firm that was doing more than simply holding my money. No response. This advisor is the manager of the Cleveland office. The MANAGER! I am so sad to see that lack of professionalism that this company now exhibits. I rarely make blanket statements but I would not recommend anyone using the Cleveland office of First Investors.

Fifth Third failed to protect our funds from an account takeover via a "check-washing" theft (involving the changing of payor's name, and obvious forgery of signatures). Unfortunately, despite immediately reporting the theft, it happened more than once (June, 2023, and December 2023). Fifth third failed in its most basic duty --- keep the funds safe and secure. To add insult to injury, Fifth Third then denied our requests for reimbursement. The runaround and bureaucracy at Fifth Third is atrocious. Fifth Third failed in its legal duty to secure and protect the consumer, and failed to reimburse. Upon further research, it appears that this is a pattern and practice by big banks across the country. See recent lawsuit by NY AG against Citibank. See Senator Sherrod Brown's Senate Committee on Banking. We have asked for copies of all documents supporting their denial of our request for reimbursement. Fifth Third so far is silent. We have filed complaints with the regulatory agencies, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Office of Comptroller of Currency. We have also filed with the BBB. I encourage similarly situated consumers at Fifth Third to do the same. #53Better. Here is our story. https://tinyurl.com/2p87exdy https://tinyurl.com/mtz67yy2 https://tinyurl.com/mr3p4tdu
