Without introducing herself or her position, I was approached in front of the entire office and immediately berated with questions regarding a bounced check. No matter what answer I gave, she rejected, and insisted the check was fraudulent. After confiscating my bank card, refusing to answer any of my questions and asking me to leave, my partner requested her info. Elizabeth Alvis, branch manager. I visited a second location and had a completely opposite experience. They were happy to review my check, confirmed it wasn't fraudulent, offered to reinstate my account, and delivered my remaining balance in cash without any issue. It's a shame that my first experience with this bank had to be with Elizabeth, since it appears that many PNC hires are delightfully helpful. Unless you enjoy being treated like a criminal, please seek help at any other location.

PNC bank pulled out a second mortgage payment on the 17th of April: $1500. When we called to get it…read morefixed, they told us they were processing it for return immediately. After 5 days, when we hadn't received it, we called in and they told us we should receive within another week. After another 7 days, we still haven't received it, and we got a message that the repayment had not been processed until the 27th of April -- 10 days after they took out the wrong payment. When we called again, they told us they had sent a check that we should eventually receive by paper mail. They deduct our mortgage electronically, but they didn't return the money electronically despite having the information to do so. All this during the COVID pandemic, when we are extra short of funds anyway. We highly recommend avoiding PNC for mortgages, and we will not be using them to purchase any future homes. We effectively lost $1500 12 days ago, and we have still not received the replacement funds.
