This review is to bring awareness to others about PMI located at 5651 Whitesville Rd #108, Columbus, GA 31904 (new address). This company claims to advocate for families especially military families, however, please do not be mislead by their charm in the beginning. The personnel of the business are prior military, who have no regard for other's time, value, or common courtesy. We are a military family who relocated to GA on military orders and we were introduced to PMI by a mutual person. We contacted the business months before moving and had in place inspection and a tentative move-in date. Our inspection and move-in date were both scheduled, however, were not met. We inspected the home with the previous tenant still there but were told over the phone he had moved. On the move-in date, the previous tenant was moving out as we were moving in, also not stated by the PMI personnel. Looking past these deficiencies because on-post housing was full and we were a family of 3 with two dogs, and we had limited options so we settled for the unprofessionalism at that time. Moving forward, before moving into the home, we made a detailed list of deficiencies throughout the home. We resided in the home from 2018-2020, causing no issues as tenants and no damages to the home. Every 6 months, personnel from PMI would visit the home to inspect and no issues were noted. Fast forward to moving out in June 2020, a PMI personnel did a final inspection and stated "there are no major damages, the carpet has been cleaned, and we will get back to you tomorrow". Not only did someone not reach out the next day, but we also called several times and no responses. At this point, we have left for our next duty station, in another State. We were told at move out, we would receive a call about our deposit, the next day. After numerous attempts to contact the office; no calls, no email contact, or calls back were made to us. After 3 weeks from move-out, the person from PMI reached out to us with a list of deficiencies, costly repairs, and no regard for our time and value. The deficiencies they stated we did, were annotated on our checklist before the move in, but we were still held responsible for repairs. For example, a wall in the dining area that was not painted by us, but by the previous tenant, who verified this. It appears PMI purposely waited until we were out of the area to concoct a scheme to take away from our deposit, knowing we'd be able to do only but so much by being in another state. PMI is a business that does not advocate for families but preys on people and operates with nefarious intentions. We have contacted the housing office in Fort Benning to also bring awareness about this business. It would be a tragedy if other families fall victim to a business that takes their deposits so eagerly but finds deceptive ways to take out from their deposits. read more
