PMA is our shop for life! Mikey cuts my husband and son's hair and he never misses. The shop has a classic vintage vibe and the staff is always friendly. 10/10

You know the barbershop with PMA in the name is going to have great vibes. I've been getting my hair cut and beard lined up by shop owner Mikey for a decade and now that he has his own shop, I can't recommend it highly enough! Mikey is going to make sure every barber at his shop brings the same professional approach to ensuring you get a quality, consistent cut each and every time.

The Holy Grail for Families - An Amazing Barber for All Ages! Finding a barber who can expertly handle a grown man with a full beard, a picky teenager, an energetic 9-year-old, and a wiggly 1-year-old is no small feat. We've found that unicorn here! Mikey's immense experience is immediately apparent. He isn't just great with clippers; he's fantastic with people. He knows exactly how to interact with each of my boys at their level--professional and cool with my 14-year-old, patient and fun with my 9-year-old, and incredibly gentle and quick with my toddler. He adapts seamlessly to their different needs and personalities. The shop itself is warm and inviting, a place where all my boys feel comfortable. For a family with a wide age range, having a single, reliable spot for everyone is a game-changer. We are so glad this gem is in our neighborhood. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Unfortunately, I don't recall any particular person's name working at this location; thus my review…read moreis of the location as a whole. I first found Hammer and Nails in my hometown of Brea purely by happenstance (and in effort to find another place for a good haircut, perhaps dabble in pedicures, besides Sport Clips). Curiosity drew me into this establishment, but by golly, it was the experience that had me stay until I eventually couldn't. From the moment I first walked in, I was blown away by the aesthetic-- definitely tailored towards guys. What's more, for my first visit, was offered a complimentary beverage (my go-to was always a woodford reserve whiskey on the rocks-- puts one at ease during a nice cut). Be it a haircut, a mani-pedi (shoutout to the Jack Hammer combo) or even a simple facial treatment, this place rocks in terms of quality, service and attention to detail. Add to that some TVs to view your shows (shoutout to the mani-pedi crew; I remember at one point you were even offered headphones to listen to TV while getting work done), and this place is worth its weight in gold in terms of what they charge (even if the memberships had a slight increase in price during my time there). In fact, it was so good that I even brought my girlfriend along for her mani-pedi (she absolutely loved it). Definitely put a smile on my face. If I did have to criticize one thing about Hammer and Nails, it wouldn't be about this location (to be fair, I always scheduled my appointments here), but about the availability of locations in general. The memberships provided are perfect (if a bit costly) in what they provide-- if you are to remain in SoCal (or just so happen to cross paths with a location across the nation). Unfortunately, it is with this critique that I had to cancel my membership; while the service is stellar, and the membership transferable for use across the nation for any of the brand's locations, there is simply no presence of the brand in MN at the time of writing. Had there been, I may have kept my membership indefinitely. A weakness to be sure, but a testament to the brand's potential overall. If I do ever make any return trips to CA in the future (and my hair is running long), I'll definitely stop by just for old times sake. Cheers, guys, and take care!

Hammer & Nails in Brea is my go to place for my haircut and pedicure appointments…read more They have a quiet relaxing atmosphere with large screen TVs with headphones if you want and offer anything from bottled water to liquor as part of the experience. Women are welcome here but it's mainly a place for men to get their hair..nails or feet taken care of. The staff is excellent and professional. There are memberships available but not mandatory...but the perks are worth it. Also there is an app so you can make appointments and choose which services you want. Cristina has been my barber since day one, and she consistently delivers an amazing cut every single time. She's incredibly sweet, great to talk to, and always very accommodating -- truly someone who makes the whole experience feel comfortable and personalized. The shop recently celebrated their 10th anniversary, and it's easy to see why they've been thriving for so long. The whole team is always friendly, welcoming, and on top of things. Even when the place is busy (which is often!), it's always clean and well-run. I love that they offer complimentary water, their service prices are very reasonable, and they even have some cute merch available. One of my favorite conveniences is that you can book appointments through the Vagaro app, which makes scheduling super easy and flexible with my own calendar. If you're looking for a reliable barbershop that will keep you looking fresh, I highly recommend checking out Mr. Barber. They've earned a loyal customer in me!

The barber shop specializes in modern men's cuts. [Price]: $38 for classic cut with complementary hair wash (upon request) and/or hot towel included. $55 for haircut & beard trim with complementary hair wash (upon request) and/or hot towel included. They use Square so credit cards are accepted. [Appointment]: I was able to schedule a same-day appointment through their website (vagaro.com), but customers are required to create an account. I received a text message confirmation and the staff asked if I had an appointment upon arrival. [Process]: The shop had a TV playing a sports game during my haircut. I had Anita and she was both friendly and efficient. I requested a low taper fade and showed her a reference photo on my phone. She completed the cut in less than 20 minutes and honestly I was pleased with the result. However, I later noticed the price listing on the wall which mentioned that the haircut includes a complimentary hair wash ... upon request. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this or informed at the time so I didn't receive the complimentary shampoo during my visit. [Conclusion]: Personally, this barber shop is a bit out of the way for me and I find $38 slightly pricey for a classic haircut without the shampoo. With that being said, the quality of the haircut execution was excellent. Just be sure to request the complimentary shampoo to get the most out of your experience here.

A lesson I've taken to heart, exemplified by the 26yrs my bride and I have raised our Family of five in Diamond Bar. This being my maiden visit with Moss, I've NO IDEA if he's an itinerant barber or if he's a founding member who belongs on the Floyd's 99 Mt. Rushmore. But judging from the effortlessly smooth, precise way Moss glided my barber chair coupled with the precise, gentle ministrations of his hands...all perfectly coiffed with the patient, genteel demeanor he extended towards me despite my status as the "world's most boring hair cut client¹," demonstrated to me that Moss has actually -just like his utterly perfect name suggests- acquired an impressive arsenal of artisinal-caliber talents. This is a consummate professional operating at or near the pinnacle of his craft. ¹ I am legally deaf, must remove my powerful hearing aids before undergoing any haircuts- Rendering me incapable of joining in the jovial bonhomie that livens so many barbershops I opted for my standard cut, a #2 taper in the back, #2 on the sides and a light trim on the top. He delivered!! And, yes, I will absolutely return. So should you. Final note- At the conclusion of my cut, I was mildly dismayed to discover that my hair cut was $41...some fourteen bucks and more than 50% higher than the $27 haircut fee that Google AI claims that Floyd's 99 charges. I hate to get enmeshed into price disputes, so I quietly paid my bill. But I DO WISH someone from Floyd's 99 would look into the glaring discrepancy between Google's posted fee and their actual fee schedule. I never mind paying for quality work like the outstanding work that Moss delivered...but pls be upfront w/ me.

That was me about 3 years ago when I first moved to La Mirada. I went from one shop to another getting disappointed time and time again. I probably checked out 7 different shops until I found Andrew over at Elite Barbers and let me tell you, I'm glad I did. The amount of attention to detail Andrew had with my haircut was unlike all the others before and that's what kept me coming back to him. He never rushed through my cut even though his next appointment was waiting for him. He made sure I was fully satisfied before I left that chair. I've been coming to him exclusively for the past 3 years and have followed him to his new studio, Royalty Lounge that he opened up with another talented barber from Elite. In my opinion, is in a much better location with plenty of shops and restaurants in the heart of Brea. It's smaller than Elite, but the atmosphere is still relaxed and cool with plenty of TVs around the wall and awesome conversations. Cuts are $30 and a steal for the level of detail you get.
