This did not feel like an urgent care! Will definitely go here is there is a need outside regular hours.

Yet, it hasn't been never free at all for every annual checkup visit. There's always co-pay some how. I called and asked why there's co pay and it always this or that regarding question the doctors cause cost. Doctor come in ask me if I have questions so if I say yes. It cost me. What's the point of annual check up and ask me if I have questions. Never like this in my previous dr office. So on some visit. I said no questions just to see and it still send me $30 co-pay. There is something wrong with the way you claim for annual visit billing. Don't make excuses when u claim it wrong to the insurance and don't even look into your process.

He was my physician growing up, and a supportive man through challenging times. I will always be grateful to him, and also to Mrs Barbara, who always made sure my timing was impeccable. This is without a doubt, the best pediatrician group in the area. My children have gone here for good reason. Trust, solid guidance, and experience. You want the best for your children, and this practice is where that's the policy. The office staff is very friendly, and I'd like to thank the advice nurse for their helpful guidance, along with all associated with this group. I don't have any problems getting my son an appointment. They also have wanted to always put my child's best first, despite some outside parties being less than exemplary or mature in an adult sense. Yet sometimes one must deal with life as is, smile, laugh, and just do the best regardless to be a caring person and relatively responsible citizen. The doctors and nurses here care. My appreciation for their honesty, and also being approachable. Working with children professionally, some pediatrician offices are impersonal or not very connected. This one is and they can refer you to other exemplary folks as needed. I'm proud to give these folks five stars, which is rare, but they deserve credit for their excellent medical care for children in this area.

They really try to make your little one feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Making appointments is easy, and I have never had any trouble getting a same day appointment if my son is sick or there is an immediate problem that needs to be addressed, even on the weekend. They have early morning hours to call and ask general medical questions, which is especially helpful for new parents. I highly recommend Children's Medical Associates. Tip for new patients/parents: if your child is going for a sick visit, when you exit the elevator go to the left into waiting room "C". That's the area for sick appointments. If your child has a routine check up, when you exit the elevator go to the right. Check the sign on the wall inside the office that tells you which waiting room (A or B) you need to go to depending on which doctor you are seeing.

Over the years, I've dealt with rude nurses or doctors, and I'd make sure to remember their names so I could avoid them next time. But this experience was beyond unacceptable. This time, we had Dr. Roman Kishi, and his rudeness was something I feel obligated to warn everyone about. He had the audacity to lecture me about my teenage son supposedly missing shots and not coming in for a yearly checkup. My son is perfectly healthy, and the only shot he was missing was the one required for seniors. Then, this doctor had the nerve to tell me that I'd be kicked out of the children's medical system if we didn't come in every year. And as if that wasn't enough, he started asking me more questions, to which I asked, "Why are you asking me that?" His response? "To see if we would GET ALONG." Are you kidding me? My son is healthy and only needed a basic check-up. I can take him anywhere for that. We travel overseas every year, and let me tell you, the healthcare there is not only cheaper but also way better than the treatment we've received here. This level of disrespect is completely unacceptable.

I googled and NOVA Peds seemed to have standard reviews. We have been here twice and it's a mixed bag. Our first appointment was the 12 month checkup. The pediatrician was nice and patient. I still like the pediatrician at our old practice more though. The second visit left much to be desired. Our daughter was sent home from daycare due to what was seemingly a rash. I called and made an appointment for the next day. My husband took her and it seemed fine. When I got home I knew it was hand, foot, mouth. My son had it and it looked exactly like that. She didn't have a fever but neither did my son. The practitioner said it was eczema. It was 1000% NOT eczema. The front desk is not very responsive. We played phone tag to get a return to daycare letter. They can't email it either; they need to fax it. Who has a fax machine these days?! Talk about a fail! We will go to the 18 month appointment in September and see how it goes. I wish my old practice wasn't so far away or had another office in Fairfax County.

They specifically told us to go to the emergency room and were very clear about that. Emergency room was confused why we would be there for a blood draw and was nice enough to send us to the correct department, so we could avoid the ER fees. OK. Once at the appropriate department, they discover that the office didn't have a physician sign the order for the blood draw. Hospital calls the office and asks for a physician to sign an order and fax it over. The office calls me and is confused about what to do. They ask me for the fax number (which has already been provided). I have to explain to them for the second time that we need a Dr's signature and they need to fax it over. We finally get a physician's signature and baby's blood can be drawn. Total of 3 hours in the hospital for a 5 min blood draw. I'm almost in tears since my milk was coming in and we couldn't stop to feed him since we kept being shuffled around. They tell us we need another blood draw and they try to send me to the hospital again. I ask why and they tell me "We usually see infants in the morning and older children in the afternoon, so it's just more convenient for us". So they'll send us to the ER (and let us pay an ER fee and wait at the hospital for hours) for convenience? Because a 5 minute blood draw is too much for them? Go in for another blood draw and pay the $70 copay. They weigh him. Nurse meets with us and cheerfully lets us know that we actually didn't need to be there at all since his bilirubin levels at last blood draw were fine. So we came there for what? A $70 weigh in? Schedule another check in (baby is young so the appointments are frequent). As I'm on my way out the door the office calls and lets me know that the appointment "is necessary". Why wouldn't it be? Lastly - I mention that breastfeeding isn't going well and an told by the NP that she will give me a referral. She does not, so I bring it up again at the next appointment. The Dr. then tells me that I don't beed a referral and give me a paper with numbers to call. I'm left wondering why there is so much confusion and miscommunication on the simplest things... Know that if you go here they will treat your money and time as if they are unlimited. If the office staff is this incompetent I very much hesitate to believe the medical care is any better. We're switching doctors and I couldn't be happier about it.

My son got a fever after his 6 Mo shots....the day of Thanksgiving. We were able to get our questions and concerns answered. They contacted us within 15 minutes from the voicemail we left. Big thing for me is that they are not pushy. We decided to opt out of the flu vaccine for my son, the practitioner suggested other options and mentioned we can always come back to get it if we weren't looking to poke our son too much during the visit. A huge plus for me. As for billing, we have never had any issues. Scheduling is also super fast. I feel like we are in and out but not rushed during the visit. Will update the review and time goes...as of now I am pleased. I feel as if my son is welcomed and not just another $$ for the practice.

I THOUGHT I liked Virginia Cinzano but she is very judgey. Once my kid was diagnosed with low iron, she acted disgusted with me as a mother as if I personally chose to withhold iron from my child. Girl, please. Like, I'm here because my kid said she had headaches and I wanted to learn why. She was nice-ish the first go-round and I thought we'd stick with her since she's seemingly got some diversity in her bloodline but I don't do doctors who expect moms to be perfect. The waiting room at this office is always disgusting. Crumbs, dirty toys and surfaces. There was even a dirty diaper once. There's minimal separation between the sick/well area and I LOVE hearing the front desk staff talk about their BBL plans. Wouldn't return, even in a pinch.

I ended up being twelve minutes late because i had both kids and couldn't get the baby out of a tight spot so had to switch parking spaces. The front desk made me wait almost thirty minutes to tell me that I was being denied a visit because i was late. When I called to complain the management basically stood behind that and said we reserve the right to deny even if you are one minute late. But no problem having you the parent wait. Cool cool. Ive never seen the same provider twice there very much a factory. We are at children's medical associates so far so good. I am willing to make the drive.
