But that's a little weird for me. This place is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it if you really care for your face. BEWARE: Vivian is an insane upseller. She will guilt trip you into spending all your money before you even know it! So if you don't plan on prepaying for 10 sessions, find another place. She will also advise you to buy a bunch of brand name products and try to convince that they are essential. In some ways, this is a bit of a no frills medspa (at least to me) and I prefer that cause I can basically come in and out without too much down time. I'm also bad at relaxing anyways so I'm not the type who needs all the amenities of like drinks and aromatherapy. That doesn't mean staff are curt or rude, they still make time to chat and be friendly. What I did appreciate this time is even though I haven't been back for ~2 years, they still had my file and I still had credits for services which they honored. They also seem to have specials quite often and it can make aesthetic services a bit more affordable (but also, unnecessary procedures for vanity aren't gonna be "cheap"). She's located upstairs in this plaza (yogurtland in the plaza), to the right of the karaoke place. Still a very quietly understated place, but the quality is SO worth it. This is the best place for facials and eye lash extensions for cheap, that you can still afford to regularly keep up with. Only $45 for either, if you buy 6 upfront which you can use for either and even share with friends. If you buy one offs its $65 a visit. When I was looking around other eyelash extension places started at around $150. The facials are super thorough, and take about an hour half to do. Vanessa at the counter speaks English and ask for facial lady Cheri. My favorite person is May, but she only speaks in Chinese. Make sure you make an appointment in advance there weekend schedule gets filled up pretty quickly. The best part is you can split it with friends, so they get used it pretty quickly. They also have a two person room, if you want to relax with a friend. I also like how they clean up your eyebrows for free with each treatment. They also don't try to oversell you on other things, total pet peeve of mine at other salons. This is definitely one of Los Angeles's Beauty bargain secrets!!

Then I thought - why not check out the San Gabriel area where everything is cheaper and see if there are any good places? I decided to go to Serenity Skin Care based on the price and reviews and I'm glad I did! I went for the natural looking ones (you can go dramatic) and the whole process took about an hour. The results, really natural looking, longer and lusher eyelashes! They do attach each lash individually. It is $60, but if you decide to join their membership, it's a lot cheaper. You have to pre-pay 6 sessions, but getting them at a discount of $45 each. I just didn't want to commit until I saw their results, but now I think I will. Along with the membership, touch-ups (within a month of extensions) are only $10! Now - disclaimer - this is definitely by far not a nice, place, they left the door open the whole time which I thought was weird. But honestly for the price, it's something I can overlook.
