We have now used Port Plumbing four times. The first time was to fix a hot water boiler issue…read more They repaired it quickly, on the same day that the call came in and at a very reasonable price. At that time, I dealt with the owner Steve. A couple of months ago, we had a leaky pipe in our basement and again...swift and reasonably priced repair. This past week, I was home when repairman Charlie, came to fix an issue. Charlie is probably the most polite, soft spoken and respectful person to come to fix something in our home. He told me how he started at the company 5 years ago and received all his training from the two owners that he views more as "uncles" than as bosses. It spoke volumes about the company and the caring way they have helped to mold a young man's life. I highly recommend Port Plumbing & Heating.

My old house water main valve was "frozen" stuck. I got two quotes to fix it…read more The first company proposed just changing out the valve. They quoted 30% lower than Rudco, BUT they didn't address my 1950s galvanized water main line to house. Rudco's quote covered the full job - doing it right. Steve at Rudco said he would not do it any other way than the right way, as if it was his own house. Steve said there was risk that a valve-only job could fail. So I went with Rudco. They did a great job, and didn't even need to dig up the grass or disturb anything - using a mechanical extruder to replace the line. So, I have a new line from the city service right through to the interior of my house. Rudco impressed me and gave me peace of mind.

Stop my flooding basement. PLEASE!!! We live on a canal, Have 2 sump pumps not getting the job done…read more(came with house-worked before Sandy at keeping the place dry). Sandy created crakes in the slab floor. Eventually the water /canal made its way into the basement with each high tide. Spoke with Tim from Mako who agreed with my husband that a French drain sump pump in the low corner would do the trick. To be honest I was terrified to do this, someone long ago convinced me never to break that slab. We had Tim install the new Sump Pump method & we have been bone dry ever since. I am so very grateful... The basement has never been this dry in my 22 years owning this house. Thanks Tim apricate the workmanship & the know how.

I have used Cornetta Bros for over 22+ yrs. We used them for every plumbing job in our home. From…read morethe boiler to faucet replacement. We were always treated fairly. We also recommended them to everyone I knew that needed a plumber. We recently called for service & were surprised to find that that a bigger plumping conglomerate acquired them. Speaking with one of the office staff, she positively assured me that Joe Cornetta would contact me to visit my home and access the plumbing issues. Upon arrival in two days, Joe inspected the work to be done and explained that another permit would need to be filed with the TOH and he would get back to me with an estimate. Within days, Joe provided a clear and precise estimate of the work to be completed with the additional TOH costs for the permit and inspection and that Joe would personally be present for the TOH inspection. after signing the agreement, we scheduled a date for the job to be completed. Steven, the crew chief along with two other technicians began the work promptly at 8am as scheduled, covering floors and appliances that were close to the actual area. Within minutes, the crew began to renovate the plumbing issues to TOH code. Observing the team, they reminded me of as NASCAR pit crew, very fast, precise and obviously seasoned experts. By midday, the crew was finished and spotlessly cleaned the area. Joe had assured me that the work was compliant to current TOH code. Sometime later ( Architectural drawing and TOH delays) an inspection was scheduled with Joe leading the inspector through the work completed. The work was approved and a Certificate of Completion was issued, Throughout the entire process, Joe, the office and the crew certainly were certainly a breath of fresh air. Their efforts, communication and completed work was nothing short of exemplary and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone would a plumbing issue.

I needed my bathroom faucet changed. I had gotten quotes from a couple of plumbers that told me…read moresince it was a pedestal sink they would have to remove the sink from the wall. The estimates I received were between $625 & $675. That was for labor only, supplies would be extra. I called Ed Ferry and was told they wouldn't know if the sink needed to be removed until they saw it. It ended up they needed to move the pedestal a little to reach behind it but they did not need to remove the sink from the wall. The charge for labor was about 1/2 the other quotes. The two men that came were very professional. They put covers over their shoes before entering and cleaned everything up before they left. I would definitely recommend this plumber.
