So, my realtor recommended Danny Castillo to me for an installation job (reverse osmosis and water softener). Danny came out to the house and gave me a quote after he looked at my used system. He mentioned that he wasn't responsible if there were any existing issues with the system since it wasn't new, which I agreed with. When he forgot to call me the next week to set something up, I texted him and he said he could be over in 40 minutes, which was more like 2 hours later. When he got to my house and looked at the system again, he realized there was a connection missing, so he went to Lowes to get it...which was the point of him coming out early to inspect the system I thought. Anyway, I went on a walk while he installed the water softener. When I got back he was already loading up his truck and said there was a leak with the water softener. He showed me the leak and said it was not his responsibility since it was coming from a used water softener. He then left because he didn't want to install the reverse osmosis system and encounter any further problems, which I thought was kind of crappy.
The next night, I had a licensed plumber (which I found out that Danny was not) come out and take a look at it. He located the leak coming from the connection where Danny had overtightened/over-threaded the connector into the water softener, causing the plastic part to crack and then leak. So the "original leak" Danny found was really caused by Danny and it's my guess that's why he promptly left. Highly unimpressed. read more
