Great course, great bar, Great cart girls.... Horrible Marshal. Kept rushing us saying we are playing to slow when the group ahead of us was walking. Every two holes would warn us. Took our names down to try and scare us. We played 4.5 hour round with the two groups ahead of us dropping out eventually but we were the ones harassed. read more

I would not give this place your money. They cannot operate a golf course. They say you can't have more than four in a group yet it is allowed every time here. The average round has never been under 5.5 hours. Don't even try and order food even though they offer it on the course before you make the turn. You will wait 45 minutes for items they should have ready. It's over priced, not well kept, and employees just sitting around who will shrug their shoulders if you ask for any kind of assistance. This comes from more than ten attempts playing here. Too many other choices in the area in much better condition and service. They just don't give a damn! read more

Great course with very friendly staff! My only con would the lack of monitoring the chipping green. I was hit by a ball by a ground of tee wagers that were in the opposite side. I'm all about kids learning the sport and practicing but it was clear their mission was to hit as hard as possible. read more

This is a very nice course if you want to pay $60-70$ and like playing crappy greens. This is the Host of the Texas state UIL golf tournament. The staff doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. Lady in the pro shop is extremely rude . Each time I called Pro Shop to find out about spectator carts got a different story or got hung up on . If this review was based solely on customer service I will give them half a star. read more

Trying to book a tee time is near impossible. The website crashes and when you call they hang up on you. I've called back 4 times and now they won't answer. The tee time I was trying to get for the past hour has since been removed. Never going to golf here read more

I would say this a great place but not after getting hit by a ball parked outside my apartment building. This clearly could had been avoided if they had nets around! And of course they couldn't do anything since it's the golfers fault! Plus the lady on the phone just had attitude! read more

Course is very condensed and golfers, and Marshall are rude. One of the golfers took a picture of us , and the Marshall showed up threading us to leave if we didn't speed up our game. Was confronted twice by the Marshall. I don't want to make it seem like it was racial, but it appeared we were the only ones harassed. Definitely not a good experience here don't go if you want to have a good time golfing. read more

The course was horrible and the staff was SO RUDE! I've never had an experience like this on any golf course. 100% not worth even $20, will not be going back! Also the staff was riding around without masks and they would come up to you and try to talk to you without wearing a mask! read more

With the scare of COVID 19, people are urged to wear face masks. When I walked into the proshop to pay, I saw the resident pro manning the cash register with her face mask below her chin. I asked her to please wear it properly and she said it made it hard to breath. She also said she isn't sick and I asked her if she had been tested and she didn't respond. She also said ignorantly that she goes home every night to her family and they aren't sick. So fair warning, if you are taking the current situation seriously avoid this place as the pro is not taking it seriously. read more

Unwelcoming starter. Old grumpy white dude. Makes it seem like they don't want you out there. Even though this is the closest course to my house, I won't be back. What happened to you plum creek? I grew up playing this course and the last time I played it was 10+ yrs ago. It was my all time favorite course, and I was extremely excited to play what I've always considered "my home course," plum creek. What I saw today absolutely broke my heart to the point where I decided to finally created a Yelp account and well,...... start yelping. There was people cruising around in wife beaters and tee shirts, people playing in flip flops bassing music, and a group on the patio being vulgar to the woman staff and the other staff members chiming in being just as vulgar. I almost gave them a 2 star review cause the course was in decent shape but no where near what the green fees are,.... no I took away the 2nd star because EVERY SINGLE WATER COOLER WAS WARM/HOT DISGUSTING PISS WATER!!! ITS TEXAS, ITS HOT, atleast give me some cold water to drink. I thought I was gonna heat stroke the freak out on the 10th green!!! read more

I purchased 2 passes to play this course at a Wounded Warrior Golf Event. I have called and can not seem to ever find a staff member willing to take the time. Today I called for a late tee time perhaps sometime after 3pm. The woman who answered the phone said "Good luck honey" we have tournaments everyday and are booked for months at a time. You might get on after 4pm or 5pm.. I said do you mind looking for me and seeing when you have an open time for 2 players. She responded with"I don't have time to look you can look yourself online." Your front line people should have better costumer service skills..just my advice. It truly makes me wish to give these rounds away and consider it money saved to NOT drive out there to play the course! read more

Very very disappointed in this mornings round of golf. Several of the greens were in really poor condition (unusual for Plum) and the sand traps were in terrible condition (really tracked up and unraked). I know it rained on Friday but I would have expected the bunkers to have been raked For the weekend. Currently not worth the $65 green fee. read more

First time here. ROUGH greens. Paid $70 and the round wasn't worth half that. 7 or 8 greens virtually unputtable, not sure if a fungus/disease got them but it was not a good look. Fairways and tees were pretty good and fun layout, but a little more transparency during the booking process is probably appropriate until the greens are back in order. read more

I am on the Player Development Program at Plum Creek and have been playing this course on a regular basis (about once a week) for about 4 years. The Good: The staff is very helpful and friendly & the beer is always cold. I looked into a membership but my wife had other thoughts about that, fortunately Plum Creek offers a Player Development Program that is a nice balance for my want to play and her want for me not to spend too much on golf. The PDP is less that $65 per month for me and includes unlimited range access and after 2pm tee times for under $25. Playing 3 times each month on the PDP is at or about break even versus paying for an individual green fee and large bucket. Plum Creek is consistently in as good or better shape than any of the public courses in the area. With the changes in the past few years, including Foresight Golf Management taking over & Texas State making Plum their home course, Plum has put a tremendous amount of capital back into the course for improvements. I would describe the overall layout of the course is open but the design makes for a good test. Long from the tips but playable and from the blue, there are a number of cross hazards that come into play throughout the course. I have friends that are once a month or less golfers that enjoy the round because of the openness of the course. While they might loose a ball for an errant shot, the shot has to be really bad for them not to have at least a chance at a recovery. With the Texas State golf team making Plum Creek their home, the practice range has been completely remade and now includes a very nice chipping and putting area with multiple pins to practice towards. It took me a few rounds when I first started to play here to figure out the greens. They run fast most of the year and in the summer you need to not only read the slope of the green, but the grain of the grass as well. I have had a chance to partner up with numerous other singles and groups while playing at Plum, and would be hard pressed to think of a pairing that I did not enjoy. One of the nice things for those of us who play year round is that, in the winter, Plum is one of the few courses in the Austin area that over seed more than just the tee boxes and greens. There is something nice about having a 65 degree day in January and green grass in the fairways. The Bad: The good on this course far outweighs the bad. Pace of Play can be slow at times because there is only a starter on the weekends and it is not uncommon to see singles and doubles going off unpaired on busy days. Things can get further backed up at times because there is not a course marshal to keep people pace. This is infrequent, but frequent enough to make note of. On a good day, you can get around in a twosome in about 3 hours, but I have been stuck behind a group that bring that round to almost 5 hours. Like other Foresight courses, Plum does not have any Golf Now bookings, so no Hot Deals are to be had. If you want the better rate, wait until after 3pm to come out. During the Spring and Fall months, Texas State students will come out in the afternoons to get student rate green fees. While this is great for them, it is all the more reason to have a starter/course marshal. Yes, they are serious when they talk about snakes. Overall: Great course not only for the setup and value but also for the staff and location. read more

As of right now the course is in excellent condition. The green fees are very reasonable, especially for the quality of the course but buckets for the range seem a bit steep. This is a fun and beginner friendly course, I would highly recommend you play at least once, I play at least once every couple of months. I would discourage you from playing on the weekends as the rate of play is extremely slow (5-6 hours for 18 holes). Weekday rounds are much faster (3.5-4 hours) read more

I really like this course. The fairways are pretty open and while it has its moments of challenge it really was fun. Very well maintained and groomed. The Hines surrounding the course are not high end but neither are they low end. The community is very clean and having the course near makes it a plus. read more

The golf course is very nice, but the people running the pro shop are horribly rude! I really don't have words that aren't bad words to say about them. We are at a huge high school golf tournament and they aren't letting the spectators rent carts. It's rainy and muddy and some of the parents and grandparents aren't able to walk the long course. The pro shop actually said they don't care! This isn't the first time we have been treated this bad. They are always rude and unfriendly. If you don't want parents and grandparents coming to a tournament, then don't have tournaments! read more

I can BARLEY give this place 3 stars. The course itself is in great condition. BUT, the driving range faces DIRECTLY in to the sun!! So if it's after 1pm, unless you want to gaze directly in to the sun after every shot, don't even bother heading to the range. Oh, but the section where the Texas State golf team hits from, is angled so they don't have to put up with that.....so nice. Also, I played on a weekday after 2:30pm, and was lucky enough to get behind a SLOW 4some of retirees and in front of them..... a 5some!! It was awesome!! I was really looking forward to not finishing before dark but instead opted to skip two holes so I could get around the jackasses. Never will understand why people will not let a single play through. Maybe the same reason little guys drive big trucks? Anyway.....the guy in the pro-shop made sure to tell me to get the cart in by 5:15!!! Oh, and when I paid I specifically asked if it was busy. "Nope," he said, "it's pretty open." Yeah, open for 3 holes. Needless to say I went back and played the two holes I had skipped and got the cart in right at dark. They need to either get some marshals out there or stress to the 5somes they let on to let people play through. read more

I'm new to golf and took their "Learn to Play Golf" program and it was great!! The instructor Brian was extremely knowledgeable and made the game feel simple and fun. The course is beautiful and the staff is great! I'm looking forward to spending many days playing at this course in the future. read more

Only hit the driving range but loved the short chipping area. Putting greens had tons of sand on it though.

I stopped by on a Thurs to see if the 'new driving range' was going to hold up any better than the 1-Dimension previous. (The wind always kept you from enjoying it). I walked into the pro shop , passing the cart barn & noticed there were a few carts on chargers , as well as a few (2-3) back near the entrance. I was passed by an older gentleman , who I recognized as a regular - since I had met him a few years back ; giving him a few tips for short game play. The sense of reluctance for customer service was overwhleming - the moment I walked into the door. The kid at the desk didn't really seem that intersted in helping me , as his greeting was "may I help you ?"......instead of "Welcome to Plum Creek G.C. !" or "what can we do for you!" ---that i'm so used to whether it's Forest Creek , Kizer/Clay or any driving range. Little did the kid know , I was actually interested in gaining membership , and actually had %75 of it (CASH) on hand. I made the explaination that I was wanting to spend my next few days off practicing , and would like to see if I could borrow a cart for 5 min. (I actually have a photographic memory) .....to check it out. "well we're kinda short on carts right now , BUT you can WALK down there if you'd like" I responded it would just be a few minutes , but the kid didn't seem to want to help me out much. Me - well i've worked BOTH sides of the Golf Course .......know the Do's & Don'ts and know what's possible. He really didn't do much of the Do's , and seemed to take pleasure in the Dont's It's kinda of the attitude you'll get when going to a slightly larger course - in my opinion 'snobbish' ... This course isn't an Arthur Hills design , but the attitude was very much as though it was better. I don't think i'll be going back there anytime. Don't get me wrong - i've met the Golf Pro - he's a cool guy , professional , and eager to assist - but sometimes the golf assistants don't know how to keep their egos checked at home. read more

Love the course hard to beat that links style. If you play from the tips (black) there are some really challenging holes. Problem is the PRICE 50+ dollars!? This course falls short of that caliber greens and fairways not in great shape nothing scenic about it and no cart girl. To me it's not a $65 course, especially in the winter. Greens were nice, fairways mediocre, and the bunkers were terrible. I think this might be the worst marked golf course I have ever played. Only 2 of the 5 par 3's actually had a distance marker. I think I might have found 2 sprinkler heads with distance marker. If you play you, for sure, need to bring a range finder. Landa is a $55 course and in much better shape all the way around. Also, if you walk they give you $10-$12 off. I walk for exercise and they told me it's the same $65 whether you walk or ride. To me it's about a $40 course, at best. Maybe in the spring/summer it's better. read more

I am far from good so every course is a challenge for me, but I keep finding myself coming back to Plum Creek. While I think the green fees are a little high compared to other courses, I really enjoy the course and the fact that it never seems too busy during the week to pop in and play with a friend. The fairways are nice and the course is well kept. Everyone seems friendly and willing to offer advice and tips. The layout is easy to navigate and the clubhouse is huge making the pro shop look smaller than it is. If you have not played Plum Creek definitely give it a shot as it really is great course not too far from South Austin. read more

Do yourself a favor and make the additional 15 minute drive up to Austin courses to save yourself the frustration of dealing with the staff at this place, specifically the old man who works at the register. We drove 30 minutes to play a round there and was met with nothing more than a condescending and rude individual. He was treating my friend and I as if we were imbeciles, refusing to give her the student discount even though she is a current TXST student , because she had just turned 23 (apparently the cutoff for how old a current student can be, which is ridiculous/deceptive in and of itself). If that is the rule then that's fine; what's not fine, however, is using phrases such as "you're too old to be a student" and "you're a big girl now so you pay big girl prices", among other things, right in front of us and other customers in the pro shop. This is disgustingly condescending and not at all how you should treat someone, especially paying customers. The course itself is decent/mediocre, I would say it would be worth the discounted ~$20 for a round. It is not at all worth the $48.50 they charge on weekdays for a round, that price is grossly inflated when compared to the quality of courses of similar pricing. Long story short, do NOT pay full price for a round here or else you will be sorely disappointed, it resembles nothing close to a $50/round Course. And lastly, avoid the completely out of touch Jobsworth who runs the register on some days. read more

Course is always in great condition and staff is always friendly and welcoming. The short game-area and putting greens are usually in pristine condition, unless it is a Monday morning, as this area takes a beating from the weekend. However the maintenance crew has everything looking great by Tuesday afternoon. Anyone who gives a poor review regarding the course or practice areas are most likely just frustrated because their golf game sucks--making excuses and blaming the course for their terrible play. Since the renovations 2 years ago the place has done a 180 degree turn to the good. Better clubhouse, greens in great shape and an awesome practice area have all made Plum Creek a great place to play and practice. read more
