But then I saw the leafy fern motif wall and the long narrow layout - Albion's charm screamed sit down, sit down. It's a relaxed atmosphere in here so take a book or a girlfriend for a chat and enjoy the sweet feelings this café induces. The coffee will do the trick too. The barista looks very cosy in the back corner making coffee. Paul Bassett Espresso (World Barista of the year 2003) coffee beans are used to make the hot brew. They serve breakfast (try the Italian baked eggs with tomato, leg ham and shallots for $12.50), lunch (Bruschetta with roasted pumpkin, goats feta and rocket for $12.00 tickle your fancy?) and a few delicious sweet treats. No Wifi, heaters outside. Nice place for a cosy cuppa on weekdays. Susanne - one of the owners - is very friendly.

Ordered the baked eggs special which was a bit smaller than expected (when used to having a shakshouka which is rather large this version was a bit of a variation)... smaller but tasty, and served with fresh sourdough toast. Coffee was fine, standard strength flat white. A good spot for brunch - if you arrive early enough in winter you'll progressively get the sun as both you and the sun wake for the day.

So, there I was, ordering my coffee and breakfast burrito when this guy barges between me and the counter and loudly greets the proprietors of the cafe while I am still placing my order. That's bad enough, but when the waitress starts to chat with this knuckle head I start to lose my cool, however, I refrain from verbalising my disdain, instead I stare at the guy like he has two heads. He finally apologises for barging in on my order but continues his conversation, right about now I am thunderstruck, I'm also super keen on getting my coffee and burrito... Finally my order is placed and I wait, and wait, and wait. Finally, I get my order, but not before old bargy pants! They actually served this tosser his coffee first! At that moment, I just think, F@3k it! Let's get outta here and never return. I get home, drink some coffee and unfurl the wrapping on my breakfast burrito to reveal a goddam BLT rolled in a wrap. Needless to say, Don Adan's sucks balls. Terrible service, inability to provide a correct order and nepotism make for a very poor customer experience.

That being said the tiny Terry is also one of the reasons that I only give it two stars because much like the rest of the cafe itself, it is incredibly pedestrian. Speaking of pedestrian, the coffee is simply not good. And holy cats, it was so hot. Maybe they should think of using a temperature gauge in your milk jug. Essentially this place is a run-of-the-mill take away shop located in the prime restaurant area, I don't know how they have or will continue to stay open. Especially when it is right across from The Penny Royal and Fourth Village Providore. I mean seriously, the coffee taste like liquid cardboard with distinct hints of cherry and chocolate. But I don't care about cherry and chocolate whenever I'm eating cardboard. This is just bad.

The atmosphere here... is fresh and the verandah is full of chatty customers. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday (not mine) and the food was interesting to say something positive. It looked beautiful, well presented with lovely garnishes. To come down the basics the Burnt Orange Fish Pie was nothing to rave about. It was lovely but I have made something similar on a Sunday night as a light meal. Maybe I just have good taste, ha. My companion had the salmon, needed more cooking, It shouldn't be raw in the middle. Further down the table one lass had the steak. It looked great but the shoestring fries were burnt. Maybe I am being a little critical but for expensive prices you need excellence. The cheapest wine was $44 a bottle. We had two bottles, red and white. Doesn't go too far with 6 people celebrating a birthday. Glad we had the birthday cake with everyone at the birthday girl's home. Then the champagne came out.

I chose the Wagyu burger with fries, the least elegant item on the menu but assuredly THE most delicious burger I have ever had.
