Well what can i say:…read more Lets start off with the staff, the staff are very helpful, kind, ploite and informative. They give excellent customer service and treat everyone like they are the only customer in the pub. Moving onto the drinks, as they are only a small village pub they have a selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. They might not have an extensive range of drinks but they have excellent prices, in which they can accomadate everyones price range. Now the reason i was writing this review, the food. the Half Moon's food is, well how i would say exceptional, now not many people get me to like food, but when i tasted this food it was like an explotion in my mouth, the food was full of flavour. I wished i could have had a dessert but we had to leave to get back home, i could have stayed there all night until it closed. The prices of the food are highly stated in the menu, they have a fantastic childrens menu aswell. We talked to the management, and they said that they believed in portion sizes and to be honest i thought well everyone says that but when our food came out i thought to myself they were not lying. i would recommend this pub for any occasion even if you just fancy a nice meal and a drink with the family. I am looking forward to my next visit.

They are very popular in the run up to Christmas with works do's so book early. The prices for meals are all clearly displayed as are many of the drinks prices so you shouldn't get any nasty surprises. I don't think we have ever had a bad night out here. There is a very big car park to the rear of the pub.

Carparking in Recar is a pain for drivers - you can either pay and display or find a free car park further out and walk in. Martha's is a pub during the day and a bar at night. I'm not exactly sure what it's like as a bar though as I only tend to go during the day for the meals. Before you go, bear in mind you are not allowed to wear tracksuits and will be asked to leave if they catch you. Trainers with jeans is fine and they tend to turn a blind eye to hoodies but they're really strict with the tracksuits rule. Generally the whole place is decorated in a kind of elegant glitzy way - there are some booths with zebra striped chairs, chandeliers adorn the ceiling and the wallpaper is a kind of feminine black flower. The bar and tables are all made of solid dark wood. Behind the bar much to my amusement it this whole wall of blue WKDs but it really does look cool. Food here is really nice. I personally recommend the lasagne dish which comes with a nice salad and chunky chips but they also do a really good chicken palmo for any palmo lovers out there. When we've been they've had little paper signs on each table announcing that certain meals are on 2 for about £6 which is really good value considering the quality of the food. The wait can be quite a while but they do come along soon after you've ordered with cutlery and a huge bucket of sauces. There's also a bowl of jelly babies in the middle of most tables but I wouln't recommend eating them! There are big plasma screen TVs but they just tend to advertise the bar on a night but occasionally have matches on. There's also an itbox hidden behind the stairs. It's a really nice place to come if you fancy a meal out as there's always loads of spaces.
