The park, named after a for parks and recreation director named Julius Breckling (not listed on this Yelp page with his name), was huge - 39 acres huge. Lol. The cons were: - trash scattered sparingly on the ground - sus characters - some areas that were worn out/ run down - parking fees (see below) - no restrooms available - none that we saw Pros: + amphitheater + dogs on leashes okay + playground area + sculptures throughout + shaded sitting areas + splash pad (there were two of them, but only one was operable that day) + terraces + walking paths + water fountains + nearby pedestrian bridge + The Little Rock monument near the bridge Parking was $3 per hour for 8 hours maximum - enforced 24/7. The kiosk accepted coins or card payment only.

Right at the lake's edge with our own, very well-maintained area for chairs, grilling, a picnic table, and steps that lead to the water's edge. We saw a Great Blue Heron and heard the Geese that are in the area. We ended the evening with a sunset that did not disappoint. We are already looking at the calendar for when we can come back.

So beautiful and very clean area. The visitor center is easy to access and has educational areas and interactive things to do with the kids. There are benches to sit on and a few overlooks. Signs are very clear leading you to "sunrise" or "sunset" and there are trails you can hike if you so wish. Does get windy so you should bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. No fee to enter so it's a wonderful free activity if you're in the area.

If you don't really hike, or bicycle, and don't really care about eating at a restaurant that looks over a bluff then save yourself a trip. I mean if I was an avid hiker I might really like this place, but since I'm not there's other places around just as beautiful without the drive.

I was fascinated by the bridge and stairs which appeared to be made of wood but was constructed of concrete, amazing! Surrounding neighborhood is beautiful, the park area was very clean and easy to access and walk around. Tip- get here early for photos and a relaxing stroll, this place gets very busy!

Rightly so... the mill is supposedly the "last standing structure" from the movie "Gone With The Wind." The gates opened at 8 AM. Entry was free. By the time we got there, a small group was already taking professional-like photos of their model. The landscaping was nicely manicured. Some of the plants and flowers or trees were labeled with little signs. My girls liked climbing up into the replica "water-powered grist mill." We didn't stay long as dogs were not allowed on the grounds. Our dog stayed in my Jeep while the air-conditioning was on since it was in the upper 80s already. It is named after Margaret Clark in appreciation of her longtime commitment to children and her interest in Riverfront Park. Her husband William E. Clark, has a wetlands park, down the street from this one by the Clinton Library, that is dedicated to him as well. It is very nice and welcoming. You know you have found the park when you see the twin sheep sculptures, Bliss and Glee, which are the work of Giuseppe Palumb. The park also has a hippopotamus sculpture named Roundbottom, that serves double duty as a bench. It is the work of Tim Cherry. The park opened in 2018 and still looks relatively new. It was designed for children ages 2-5 and is on artificial grass and mud free rubber surface. The park appears to have a nature theme and has a bank of traditional/toddler swings, rocks to climb, percussion instruments, bridges, slides, stand and spin, and a spinning cone climber. The slides are small and there is not much there as far as equipment goes, so I do not see the park entertaining kids much older than 5. It is a nice park though and well maintained. I have no issue with them catering to pre-school kids because sometimes the littles get over run over and pushed to the side by the big kids at other parks. This is not a destination park, but it is nice spot to visit if you are in the area with little kids and some time to kill.

Super easy trail with stunning views!…read more My husband and I went right before the sun was setting so we were able to get the best of both worlds! We got to the peak and enjoyed the beautiful views. The trail is super easy and can be done with little ones as well. Being the daredevil my husband is, we decided to go off trail a little and climb some rocks to get up the mountain. If you're feeling a little adventurous...I say go for it too!

Free entrance and free parking is a plus. No sign in required…read more There are restrooms at the base of the mountain. The West Summit Trail is supposed to be easier than the Eastern. Since I'm not used to climbing mountains I chose the Western. All I can say is whoever called that a trail is an optimist. Yes, there are some discernible parts that look like a trail, but much of the way is climbing over large rocks and boulders which in some places are sort of stacked like stairs. It was a challenge. Thank you to whoever put in the occasional benches where I could catch my breath and give my 64 year old legs a rest in between climbs. I saw some with small children, but those 6 and under were not enjoying it. If you have hiking boots, bring them along with some water, you will need them. I wore sneakers but they were slipping on some of the rocks. There are some places rails would have helped. If you don't have good balance this is not for you. The good news is I made it up to the top and down without breaking or spraining anything. I am glad I've been walking 3 miles at home, as that helped get me in enough shape to attempt this. But home is flat, and climbing uses different muscles. The view at the top is amazing, and I'm glad I did it. I'd like to work on getting in better shape and trying it again. ...But if you're not in the best shape, I recommend working on that first. Even some young people were saying how challenging the trek was for them.
