So underrated but a must visit. You can drive to the top so it's great for people who may not be very mobile that still wish to enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset. There are benches to sit on and a few overlooks. Signs are very clear leading you to "sunrise" or "sunset" and there are trails you can hike if you so wish. Does get windy so you should bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. No fee to enter so it's a wonderful free activity if you're in the area. read more

While driving around looking for some excitement during COVID, we decided to spend some time at this state park. After a very narrow and winding trip up the mountain, we arrived at the visitor center and were greeted with a hectic parking lot and many others who were out trying to get socially distanced fresh air. The visitor center sits on the edge of the mountain and provides a stunning view. Cabins and campsites are available for rent. read more

Beautiful park, so well kept. We made the trip from Prescott Az for a mountain bike race. Stayed in cabin 3 and 13. Both were great and had incredible views. The cabins have the basics. I brought bedding for the pull out bed but they do provide it as my son was racing and I wanted him as comfy as possible. Fire pits were at each cabin and bbqs as well. There is a wal mart at the bottom of the hill if you forget anything. read more

A great place for some outdoor adventures -- hiking, biking, or, like us, driving up and enjoying the panoramic views. We took the drive up to check out the views from the sunrise side and then the sunset side. The views can be incredible, although the day we were there it was a bit foggy... certainly isn't the mountain's fault. Would definitely check out the trails for some hiking the next time I am in town and when it is not super hot and humid. read more

What a hidden little gem! Was planning a last minute road trip wanting to go to one of the many parks in Arkansas. Only catch was we have a dog, so we needed a pet-friendly cabin / lodge room. After calling around to about a dozen places, this was the ONLY place that had a pet-friendly cabin available for the weekend! SOLD! LOL... We didn't arrive there until about 9pm, but they had the check-in instructions at the visitor center. Basically all the cabin doors have punch-codes based on the last 4 digits of your phone number. Very convenient! First, all the employees there were SUPER nice and helpful, and of course loved dogs! The cabin was AWESOME, especially for the price (being a state park it was pretty cheap compared to staying at like a private cabin). They bring you fresh linens every day, if you need something just ask. The kitchen had plenty of plates and cookware, oven, stove, full size fridge. There is a fireplace but they lock them during the summer. Out back we had our own grill & fire pit. Going on the trails was the best part. We went hiking for probably four hours and didn't run into a single person! Just be sure to bring plenty of water if it's hot! There are a lot of private homes up on top of the mountain too mixed in with the park, but the locals are all extremely friendly. There was a group of probably 8 or so deer up there too, they love people and dogs. I seriously say a couple of them playing in a front yard with some guy's dog! The view was awesome, there is a sunrise & sunset point you can go to, but really anywhere on the mountain you can get a good view. People also go hang gliding off the mountain, twice a year they have some big event (but we missed it). Can't wait to go back there again!!! read more

Mt. Nebo is a somewhat small, quaint, yet serene state park. The mountain rises1,350 ft. above the Arkansas River Valley. The park offers plenty of hiking trails, cabins, campsites, and of course - beautiful views. The park offers a number of amenities as well, such as pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, pavilions and a ball field. The visitor center offers exhibits, shopping, and bicycle rentals. I also find it cool that Mt. Nebo is one of only two Arkansas state parks offering launch sites for hang gliders. read more

Rim trail is seriously one of the prettiest hikes. It's rare that you can hike a trail where you have beautiful views the whole time.

Mt. Nebo is kinda like a resort. If you are looking for all the amenities and a decent view, then this is the place for you. The drawback, for me, is that there are better places nearby for outdoor activities; Mt. Nebo is just a bit too civilized in my opinion. read more

Mt. Nebo is a fabulous and amazing state park in almost every way but I do want to post a quick review about renting bikes because mountain bikes are a very integral part of fully enjoying the Park. In case you don't know, Mt. Nebo is all about hiking and biking. They have wonderful trails with breathtaking, world-class views of the Arkansas River Valley below. But here's my caveat: do not rent bikes (any bike) from the Mt. Nebo visitor center. For starters, the bikes are not appropriate at all for the park. Then, they have this strange policy that any bike you rent from them must be returned by the same day no later than 4:30 PM. Huh? I found this very odd and inconvenient. I could go on and on but I'll just leave it right here...please go to Mt. Nebo but if you do, bring your own bikes!!!!!!!!!! read more
