The park is a great place to stop for camping, picnicking, boating, and fishing. There are reservable campsites with water and electricity hookups, picnic shelters, playgrounds, hot showers, flush toilets, a dump station, and a boat ramp. I spent a few hours hiking on one of the more difficult hiking trails and it was a great experience! The trail was clean and well labeled, but the only difficult part was locating the same trail markers going down the mountain, especially since there are so many rocks and boulders throughout the entire terrain so it was very easy to miss several trail markers on the way down. I love that the state park offers a variety of trails and difficulty levels, so whether you are a beginner hiker or a more experienced hiker, you are bound to have a good time. I enjoyed the trail and the experience of doing some rock climbing, and if I'm ever in the area again I will definitely come back!

Love the free AR state park "passports" you can get as well - so many high-quality details!! 2. This was a challenging but well-marked hiking path. For context, we were told there is a "hard" side or an "extra hard" side to hike LOL. We chose the "hard" side. You do need some moderate physical fitness - a good portion of the "trail" was just spray-painted yellow marks on large rocks and boulders you have to climb. But we did it all in under 2 hours? Great views from the top, and there is a wonderful playground in the middle of the parking lot too! What a unique and fun experience. Honorable mention: we saw a raccoon in a Christmas sweater.

When we were there the leaves were beginning to change and it was beautiful! The accommodations are great. The rooms and cabins are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are nice too. They have just built some new 2 - 3 bedroom cabins that are really nice. The common areas in the lodges have large-screen TVs and enormous stone fireplaces. There are plenty of books to read or large walls of windows where you can enjoy the complimentary coffee, hot tea or cocoa and look out at the beautiful view while sitting on a comfy couch next to the fire. Or you can go outside and enjoy a bonfire or the fire pit. There's also plenty of outdoor running room if you have a group of kids that need to play some games, set up some type of activities or just walk around enjoying the surroundings. The meeting spaces are well furnished and accommodate a large group of people easily. At Sunset Point we enjoyed the space and its furnishings. We also liked how there was a small kitchenette out in the foyer for refreshments. Speaking of refreshments...the food is top-notch. They have a wonderful award-winning chef that prepared wonderful meals for our group of 120. We ate so well at the meals that we did not really want any type of snacks throughout the day. They were VERY hospitable in every way, but what struck me the most is how they accommodated peoples dietary needs. You don't get that consideration every where. The staff at the retreat center is very flexible and helped us at every level. But I will tell you, if you're looking for lodging that has marble floors and egyptian cotton sheets you should keep looking somewhere else. This center is not built for that type of lodger. They are very nice and comfortable if you enjoy a little of a rustic feel without giving up any conveniences. All of our rooms had complimentary soap, hair dryers and irons/ironing boards. But no butler will turn your bed down at night! As they continue to grow and update properties this place is only going to get better. One more thing, this is a Christian organization...so don't make reservations if you plan to booze it up.

You can head to a couple different areas, but the most popular is the trail right by the visitor center. Sometimes parking is difficult because people park to go to the beach, so bring some patience. The bathrooms have flush toilets but no sinks, so plan ahead if you'd like a nicer bathroom experience. The visitor's center has tons of educational information along with very informed staff. You can learn about where to go and even borrow binoculars to look for birds. There's a small gift shop as well. The path leading from the visitors center passes two large marshy fields and ends with a large tower overlooking more marshes. Bring binoculars- it's so fun to be able to watch the birds poke around in the sand, interact with each other, and sleep. The beginning of the path has a small pond filled with turtles as well that are fun to watch. Even if you're not a big bird fan, it's a beautiful area for a nice walk. You can spend time going to more of the refuge and, of course, you can go to the beach as well.

Brannon, the owner, helped us out. He walked my boyfriend through with his purchase, without a thought of what was on the floor/in stock or the price tag. I, personally, don't know much about golf (grew up in the tennis world), but Brannon made it easy for even me to understand. He ended up down to the wire picking between two, and Brannon had the patience and honesty to help him make his decision. I can tell Brannon and his team knows all the ins and outs of purchasing your golf investments. Not to mention their state of the art technology can do no wrong. From a spectator's perspective, it was honestly a fun experience. I grabbed a tasty "tiger woods" vodka drink and chips and salsa. All were welcoming, kind, and genuinely passionate about working there. 10/10 would recommend the Arkansas Golf Center for all your fitting needs. And in the words of my boyfriend: "I thought I knew everything there was to know about golf, but Brannon knows every spec there is when it comes down to finding the perfect shaft or club. Regardless of the club or whatever your swing is, this is the man that will find it for you"

The guy trying to fix it was running like crazy trying to fix the problem. He finally got it fixed after waiting for an hour only to have it break again. I understand this. What I don't understand is. When we gave up and we're leaving I expected them to tell us not to worry about it. What I didn't expect was to be charged for the five frames. When I questioned this the boy said he wasn't the owner and only did what he was told. I calmly told him we couldn't even finish and waited an hour for their defective equipment. At that point the older manager guy told me I was being rude by questioning his employee when I responded that it wasn't rude to question being charged for non complete service. He told me I was being rude to him. I never raised my voice. And could care less about the money. Since when is it rude to request not being charged for crap service?
