Employees…read moreand visitors must follow rules that sometimes seem unnecessary but for the sake of the people inside no one wants visitors bringing in drugs or other contraband. Before being processed for visiting there is a cash vending machine that allows visitors to buy $2 coins used to pay for photos while visiting. There is a cash vending machine for buying a $5 reusable plastic card that one can add money to for buying vending machine snacks/meals during the visit. There are several machines that take cash for adding money to the card. You must add to the card before going into visiting if you want to buy snacks. Your friend or loved one would appreciate having a choice for food items and that are not prison food. The snacks are expensive. Jeans, blue or immodest clothing, and hats are not allowed. You are limited to a few items such as a car key, photo coins, and a vending machine card. "Friends Outside" has clothing you can borrow if you wear the wrong thing. It is wise to check the prison's website for visitor requirements and what clothing is allowed. It is a lot of trouble to visit a prison but your loved one or friend will be grateful, and it is proven that people who can maintain family contact are more likely to be responsible citizens once they are released.

I also was treated awful by any female staff. The front gate guy on weekends is super kind and very helpful. I commend him for maintaining such a level of professionalism while not being a butthead like most of the others inside the visitor center. Speaking of which, the little trailer outside where they send you if they feel threatened by the wire in your bra (or even better, your size a tits under a jacket with a slight hint nipple to be discovered by the ferociously deprived inmates) there is a nice Asian woman who won't speak English but is great with a pair of scissors. (They have a free bra wire removing service for your convenience.) the Hispanic man with his hair always jelled back nicely that works in the reception visiting center who tells you which window to go to isn't so much social, but kind nonetheless. He gets his job done without making you feel like a criminal. He also plays decent music (except during the holidays which I'm sure is against his will.) as far as the person who was residing there, he says 2.5/5 and he went to CMC to solitary confinement after because of the failure of his counselor to see him for 6 months at wasco and gave them a 3.9.

They know he is supposed to be coming home soon and it seems they just keep coming at him just to see how far they can push him. I have documented every incident and I will be helping my man consult an attorney in regards to the harassment he is constantly dealing with. This prison is the absolute worse. if you know anyone incarcerated here and they feel as if they are being harassed keep a record of this and pursue a lawsuit for harassment they need to learn these inmates have rights and are humans too

My son is there right now. He just recently, a week ago, went to the hospital because he passed…read moreout. At the hospital, they discovered he had blood clots in both lungs and both feet. He stayed there for a week for treatment of his blood clots. They sent him home with 3 months of blood clot medication. Five days later he had to surrender himself to jail time he owed at SLO County Jail. He came with the meds they prescribed him from the hospital, but on his 3rd day there, they finally only gave him his blood clod prescription! He said his feet are very swollen! He's also on anti depression and anxiety medication. So much for Mental Health at SLO County Jail!!! I'm worried because I lost my Mom to blood clots 5 years ago! Scary Almost a week there and they haven't given him his prescribed anti depressant pills. But they finally gave him the blood clot pills only because I called them and warned them!!!..so they gave it to him because they don't want to be in trouble if he dies. Nice of them

I spoke with her regarding my loved one and my concern about them not getting their basic rights and phone calls and toiletries and he hasn't been given any of that and she wasn't kind nor did she help the situation. I work in the field and the fact that they are so unprofessional and arrogant concerns me because those type of people should not work in that field. They do not clean their cells or units before placing another individual in there. Mental health staff even questioned the unsanitary conditions and the Sgt next to her seemed nervous and stated it would get cleaned and it never did. Our loved one had to sleep on the hard cold floor. I pray... that those people running those units and that facility NEVER have to face a situation in which they or their loved ones have to get treated bad. Also, I will be reaching out internal affairs.
