Grateful that they didn't release a friend into the night after a dui. They kept them and alerted family.

I came here to visit my father last year with my girlfriend. There is a difference between visiting…read moresomeone in county jail, and visiting someone at a state prison. First of all, you must get approved for visitation before even showing up. The inmate you're seeing will be able to send you a form that you must fill out, send back, get it approved and only then can you visit. You also get to visit for hours, and it's full contact, so good bye talking through glass and hello long hugs. The prison is in the middle of nowhere, obviously, with miles of desert around. We waited in a line to get in for a few hours because we didn't have an appointment. If you don't make one, you shouldn't worry because you will get in. It will just take a little longer. They have clothing restrictions. No jeans or colored pants. I went with khaki because it was safe way to make sure I get in. No jewelry, no see through shirts of any kind. We must of seen at least six people being sent back to put something in the car because it wasn't appropriate. Read up before coming and dress smart. They do have a little bungalow at the end of the parking lot that's kind of a "Customer service" area. Inside they have pamphlets about group meetings and even extra clothes you can borrow if you don't meet the requirements. The group of people we were waiting with were very nice, and a lot of them have been here before so they were happy to answer any questions we had. Once you get inside the first building, you have to register who you are, who you're seeing, and your relationship to the inmate. They have a counter where you can purchase a picture ticket. Yes, you can actually have your picture taken with the inmate, which I think is a great idea. Once you go through a metal detector you get to walk with a group of people to whatever cell house the inmate you're seeing is at. Once inside we had to wait a little while until my dad actually showed up. We spent three hours, talking, laughing, and reminiscing. I was happy to have my dad and girlfriend finally meet after years of talking about one another, to one another. Sadly the camera was broken so we weren't able to get our picture taken, and they don't give out refunds so be cautious. They have plenty of vending machines so you can buy lunch. The guards pretty much keep to themselves, and answer questions you may have happily. It was a small room with a small outdoor area that we were able to explore. No bathrooms, so go before you get in. Overall it was a pleasant experience. It sounds weird when you're talking about a prison, but you should know that though the place isn't a symbol of happiness, your time there can still be a happy one.

We couldn't sign up or anything so we had to wait in a line for thirty minutes before we could be checked in. We had to go through metal detectors two times to get into the office and the court!&^(*# Hella annoying. After checking in at 8:30am we wait around for the court to open at 9am. Mostly speeders, people driving without a license, etc. My turn comes up and the judge asks what I plea..I plead no contest and admit to my speeding. $878 fine and 2 points on my record..I got raped! The same thing happened to my mom! Over $1,700 wasted on driving tickets. The judge wouldn't even lower it or do anything to help me out...it's understandable though since you can't really do traffic school and it would take over 80 hours of community service to pay it off and if someone got hit, the accident could have deadly consequences. Then we have to get our paperwork and pay off the fine, which takes over 3 hours for them to do. At the other traffic courts I've been to in Westminster and San Jose, I get my paperwork immediately after my case. My mom and I went to eat and came back two hours later, it wasn't finished..then we slept in the car until 1:30pm and it finally went through. The court takes its sweet fuckin time to go through the paperwork. To top it off, I had to use the restroom and there was no door to the stalls, I felt like I was in county or something..dirtiest bathroom ever! Anyone coulda walked by and catch a peek of me droppin a deuce lol. Dropped over $800 and wasted my whole day in shitty Coalinga.

I cannot stress this enough that this is the better, quicker option. I came in, there was a line up the double doors. Excuse me, pardon me, excuse me & I was able to stand in line 'For Appointments Only'. I was second in line. Within 5 min I was called to a window to renew my license. Eddie was friendly and quick with the prompts. Verification, thumb prints, chit-chat, eye exam, more thumbprints, chit-chat, and finally my picture. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Thank you Eddie, you were fun to talk with about 'State' business. It's $45 now. Yikes, I remember when it was $12, $16, $20. Inflation is real. One staff seemed frustrated that the website was giving people a code to come in, stating 'You could have just mailed it in.' Trust me lady, I did not want to come in either and it's been a decade so I figured they wanted an eye exam and a current picture. I didn't argue. I just said, 'I know, I tried not to be here either.' But here we are. Props to the Weddah who spoke Español and was able to speak & communicate effectively. Save time, make an online appointment.

Not much to look at, staff is rude. Unorganized. But has at least a few good things like: events,…read moreand coding. I would come here as a child and sit with my mom near the adult section so she could help me with an essay. Since the kids section was packed. A lady with blonde/bleached hair with square glasses, overweight, curly short hair in a ponytail, would stare and me point at me talking to her coworker and finally came to talk to me rudely (ps this is a library, we're supposed to whisper) saying I have no right to sit there, she didn't give me time to talk, she just stormed back into her chair after. My computer time was about done, and she came over again angry talking to me, I couldn't save my progress of the essay and the computer logged me out and she kept yapping. This lady would always stare at me and follow me every year (6 years straight). Pretty sure she still works there to this year. One time my brother and I were at the teen section and there was this guy and his sister coming in, they would be very loud. Let me inform you, there are cameras in the teen room. And this guy would play porn on loud volume and a staff lady with reddish brown hair, wavy hair, short hair and short size, older in her 60's, would come and say who is playing that (porn) ? My brother and I on Roblox just looked at the guy. That guy blamed it on my brother (The guy and his sister were on their personal laptops for your information). The librarian staff who favored the guy (Eth) told us a warning and left the room. The guy played it on blast again. The librarian came back and kicked my brother out. Honestly I would recommend the staff to have some common sense at least, or have a thinking cap when deciding the best judgement for things. Especially if there are 4-8 cameras pointed in the tiny little section and especially if you ( librarian R) constantly watch the cameras. I'll give you a tricky question. If there were 2 guys in a teen room section and you had to decide who was watching inappropriate videos. Who would you choose? A 13 year old kid playing Arsenal on the library computer? Or A 16 year old kid, on his personal laptop, muting the sound and changing the websites whenever you walk in?

This library has potential but the librarians ruin the experience. I asked Jackie ( rude librarian)…read morefor a temporary access for my kid to go in the computer she completely declined and said there certain reason she would give a temporary access to let kids go on kids computer and we qualified but still denied as for the other old librarian she is not welcoming and keeps trying to force my kid to clean up other kids messes after she cleaned up her area of toys and goes to another activity she would stop my daughter from playing and bring her to the other side of the room to pick up things she's never touched this was the 2nd time she accused my daughter and scolds her i left as she is basically bullying my child (Also we did attend an activity that she host it and expect kids not to be kids she is a sour attitude) They might as well hire some of the volunteers that help out as they do more than them anyways they get overwhelmed from doing the job they have little to do anyways from the help they get from the volunteers (Jackie said my kid was not welcome back anymore, at this point I don't even care they are not nice I will not have my child clean up someone else's mess like it's her chore or job to do!)
